I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom's room at Encompass Health Rehab Arlington was fine, it was clean. The staff there was very nice and they provided her with rehab. They didn't have any activities because of the COVID, it was just rehab. I tasted the food and it wasn't bad, but she didn't really enjoy it. They can get awfully expensive, but Medicare is paying for it.

My mom was at Encompass for a couple of weeks. She said it was the best place she had been in all of the three. She wanted to go back there, but it couldn't be arranged because they're for short-term only. It was more expensive, but they had rehab in the morning and in the afternoon for my mom. They worked with her quite a bit. The food was good too. My mom had a good experience there. She liked it. They also took her to her doctor's appointment.

My Mom was at Healthsouth Arlington for rehab after breaking her hip. I was at the rehab every day for 8 hours. The therapists did an excellent job. Hillary was so kind and funny it kept Mom's mind off the fact that she rehabbing her hip.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother-in-law fell and broke her hip at the end of December, 2016. Following surgery and a week in a hospital, she was transferred to Healthsouth in Arlington, Texas, where she spent another week. Our overall experience was good and we would recommend this facility to others Facility All the patient areas had just been remodeled when we arrived, and the office areas were in the process of being remodeled. So everything was modern, spacious, and comfortable. Staff With only one exception, all the staff were friendly, caring, and helpful. This was the most important thing we were looking for before selecting Healthsouth, so we were very pleased. We were also very watchful of response times when the nurse call button was pushed. A response over the intercom almost always occurred within about 30 seconds, which was very reassuring. The time for someone to actually arrive to help varied from immediate to maybe 5 minutes or so. Therapy I think there is a law or insurance rule or something that requires 3 hours of theapy per day, and that's what she received. It consisted of some sessions focused on physical therapy (muscle strength, range of motion, etc.) and other sessions focused on occupational therapy (everyday tasks like getting dressed, showering, getting in/out of a car, doing laundry, and shopping). Flexibility We appreciated how flexible the staff was. For instance, my mother-in-law takes a number of supplements and they were willing to work that into the daily routine. Due to her whole food plant-based diet, we brought most of her food every day and were allowed to keep it in a refrigerator down the hall (since we didn't arrive each day until after noon, the nurses were even willing to retrieve food from the fridge and warm it for her). They were also flexible on the checkout process, even when we moved it up a day. Overall My wife and I were there for at least a few hours every day, so we got a good feel for how the operation is run, how consistent the treatment is, etc. It's not perfect and there are things we would change if we could but, overall, we were very pleased and would not hesitate to recommend this facility to others.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I was in this facility after my hip replacement surgery for 9 days. I was terrified of having to go to a rehab hospital after my surgery. I loved the nurses, administration, doctors and therapists at HealthSouth . This facility takes rehab seriously and I was given 3 hours of therapy a day. The expertise of the therapists and what they want to achieve was amazing to me. I am so glad I went and it made my recovery so much faster. I highly recommend this facility.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother had been in rehab last November at HealthSouth for a week. The rooms were fine. The staff were helpful, but they really didn't solve any issues while she was there. My mother is diabetic, and they did not always follow a low carb and low sugar diet, so I wasn't really happy with that. They should pay closer attention to the patients' dietary restrictions. Also, my mother was a fall risk, they did not escort her to the bathroom, and she fell in the bathroom there, so I wasn't very happy about that either. The security was just fine; I didn't have any issue with that.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My sister was at HealthSouth Rehab for a couple of months. The food as well as the cleanliness was good in this facility. She had her own room and it was easier to move around in the room with the use of the wheelchair. I like the doctor and he actually talked to me over the phone.
