    Annoyed...

This assisted living is behind the times!!!! It uses techs, not nurses to give medications. Only has one nurse that is on duty and that nurses is only there part time... The administrator is somewhat helpful at times and other times it is like we are bothering her. Activities are less than good... Same ones every month...staff is not trained properly.

My grandmother resides at this facility, and I can tell you that it is wonderful. The staff is extremely caring, and polite. My grandmother has never been happier, and she has lived in 2 other Assisted Living Facilities before. The food is wonderful, and if she doesn't like something they are having, the dietary staff is very happy to provide an alternate food item. They have wonderful activities, both on the property, and off. The administrator makes every effort to get out, and get to know both the residents and their families, and tries diligently to accommodate requests. Her door is always open, and I have personally seen first hand, how she and her staff take the time to address issues regarding their residents with their families. She has welcomed me into her office several times, when my grandmother was being difficult, and we as a family, worked with the staff at Richland Place to work toward a solution. I love this facility so much that when the time comes, I will be placing my mother here! Wonderful Place!

    I am/was a resident of this facility

Yeah, live here...love it..hate it, sometimes..wish was not here. But yet, here..what to say. The staff for the most part..are fanastic. Very dependable..willing to help..wheither eating, bathing, toileting, bed time, talking and that's the big thing here..just talk to us. There are some, who are only here for the paycheck..they have no training or edcuation for another job, looking for the easiest job out there to be done. Pay...ain't too good. All need additional training and yearly incentive in pay, vacation time, sick time, court time, doctor visit time, good insurance packages and bonuses. That's the big one..BONUSES. Incentives to become the very best techican they can become..willing to work overtime..work for coworkers when sick or family sickness..work their schedule time shift...be on time...don't leave early even if next shift comes in early..help dressing..gettting residents up for meals...on/off toilet..in/out bed..fallen resident..staying with that resident till 911 gets there...help with medication. Being there for any type of help. What else............have seen alot. Residents smiling and happy..when help with simplest of things...watching tv with other residents, visiting with family/freinds... naps.. being woke up for meals, not being left to miss a meal..being able to wash own clothes, do crafts and games down stairs, doing bazaar things, going the gargarge sales, out to eat, goodwill shopping, Walmart trips, church, physical therapy, occupation therapy, memory therapy..walk around the halls..visiting with other residents. Having good meals and snacks daily. Interacting with staff and other residents during meal, trips and things being done at the center. But also have seen unhappy residents..or unattended residents...residents lefted in a situation that could lead to a fall, whether fatal or otherwise..leaving resident on toilet or in shower/bathtub longer than neccesary. Staff dosen't mean to be unaware..they sometimes are not trained correctly. (Once trained 6 weeks for a cna job). They need further information on demetia/alhziers (spelling never strong suit) residents...Very big thing now adays. Demetia/alhizers residents need..help. They need to be graded..if mild cases can be left on regular hall. Once showing aggressive or wandering behavior put on a lockdown hall. Key pad for staff and family and friends. No way residents can get off hall. No excess to stairs or other halls. Watch for hitting, yelling behavior. Staff needs to be at times..attenive..kind..willing to help..willing to LISTEN. And that's the big one. We need to be listen to, talk to. Is that too much to ask? Love it. There. The food..well that's another story. They do not have any variety..it's chicken..chicken..chicken, cooked in every way possible. Low to the person who complains. YUCK! Please, more VARIETY. Dessert..yummy. Variety..need more fruits. Complaints........feels like family most of time. Clean apartments, clean clothes, clean bodies. Feel so SAFE here. But something is missing. Just can't put my finger on it just yet. But will..I PROMISE..Later?

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother has been at this place for 3 years. It is a nice for a seniors who has a good mind and can care for themselves. But when they get like my mother who has dementia and her mental health is lowly getting worse my advise is not even think about putting your love one there. If at all possible go ahead and put your love one in a Senior Living home where they are qualify to work with dementia patient and have a love for dementia people and ado so with cheerfully and lovely heart. This place took my mother knowing her had dementia, but the caregivers are not qualify or trained to work with dementia patient. Richland is only for seniors who can help themselves who only needs a little assisting with their medicine and personal hygiene. That is why I give it a 4 star rating. It has been a roller coaster ride for me since the beginning.
