I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

So.....I went home to Nashville to see my Mom yesterday, at her facility. Covid is still flocking through the home....new cases every day. They have cut out smoke breaks, the only time she sees outside, because several of the smoking patients and staff have contracted the virus. (You think that was the answer??? We gave her her gifts, saw the other gifts she had received, we talked, cried, and expressed our love, all extra loud as this is through a closed window and screen, and then it was over. Peering through her window, seeing the disarray in the room, the clutter from no one cleaning the room. I Hate what this virus is doing to our older community!! ISOLATION IS NOT THE ANSWER!!! I can see the decline in her mental status because she has no stimulation, no motivation except for her tv. She was stiff, because there is no one making her ambulate....this has been the most ambivalent holiday season I have ever had....I'm so very grateful that my mother has not been touched by Covid.....she has been negative at every test but I MISS holding, hugging, touching my Mom, being able to take her to the store, doctor, or whatever!! People tell me I should be happy she is alive and I am! But I am saddened, broken hearted even, that this virus has taken what little freedoms she has left. This is insane....I WANT MY MOMMA!! This weekend was worse with us not being able to talk due to the bombing in Nashville on Christmas day. Something needs to happen and quickly.....I don't think I can take much more. I feel like breaking her out of that jail!! #freemymom!!

I am/was a resident of this facility

Place is the worst of the worst! They didnt even know how to hook up my iv for my antibiotics which was why i was there. I lasted a day at this place n got out of there!! They didnt even sterilize the iv connections with alcohol wipes! I had to tell em!! Then they was hours late with my meds then tried giving me meds they had stopped in the hospital. The staff knows not what's going on!! Do not go there you will leave plus i think it's getting ready to be shut down thank god!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I have a very close friend at this facility and I would not recomend this home to anyone!!! When you first walk in you smell urine!! You can hear patients up and down the hall asking for help with not one staff member responding. It is clean except the rooms. My friend normally sits in urine a feces all day because no one wants to be bothered with the changing. I have went and clothes were soiled and soaked because of how long the patient had sat in it. The patient also complains of calling for help and pressing the help button and gets no response. The patient has even had sores on the buttocks from sitting in the feces so long. The treatment from the staff is less than acceptable!! The staff is rude and not helpful at all. They can never help and they always send you to someone else in this building. Just going in circles. There is no facility ID's for the staff to know who they are and who is missing and even to know that they are treating the correct patient. I have been a nurse for 20 years and this is just a mess!!!!!!! There is a nurse on the night shift that is very mean to the patients and they continue to take the residents TV remote and keeps unplugging the patients personal things to the point that one plugged was pulled out so hard that the entire cord was ruined.

I visited this facility

My mother was in the facility, it was dirty and smelled. Nurses were rude and even the hand sanitizer was dirty. I have called State of TN to look into.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

We had to put my sister at Cumberland Manor Nursing Center because she has a big brain tumor, and we were just there a couple of days. Everything is on one floor and it is clean. She is in a semi-private room but there is no one on the other side. There is a closet place, a little chest, and they had a place to put her TV. The people were very nice and trying to be accommodating.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Cumberland Manor is managed by a small corporation operating several nursing home facilities around middle Tennessee. I have visited Cumberland Manor and my father was a patient there for a few weeks for rehabilitation after a bad car accident. It was obvious that the facility is funded mostly by the state of Tennessee as the equipment and furnishings were minimal. The staff was available but few and the odor in the facility was noticeable, but not foul. The patients seemed content and common areas were clean and well lit. The staff appeared professional and attentive. My father did have a few complaints that nurses did not respond to his call for help to get to the bathroom, but a nurse could easily be found and were able to answer my questions when I visited. The food was quite obviously institutional but was delivered as prescribed. The facility offered in house physical therapy and transportation to and from doctor appointments. Overall, I would say my experience with Cumberland manor was satisfactory and it is certainly a good option for the price.
