I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was briefly there for rehab and I was so glad when she was finally discharged. She was there during covid restrictions and was not allowed to have visitors during most of her stay which our family understood. During my mother’s last couple weeks of being there, my family was finally able to visit with her. We were there everyday all day so we witnessed a lot. While there, we noticed that their CNAs are extremely understaffed and overworked. The CNAs are pleasant but it’s only so much they can do and it’s not their fault they are stretched so thinly. While the nurses are friendly, they are not the best communicators. They would not answer the phone nor return my calls. What’s funny is that when I was finally allowed to visit, I noticed someone was always at the nurses station. They were purposely avoiding my calls all those times. I do not recommended having your love one live here unless they are pretty independent or unless you can visit them daily to make sure they are properly looked after. I can only wonder what my mother went through while she was in isolation. They just don’t have enough staff. This place along with most nursing homes are about their bottom dollar. You have to stay on them and be present to make sure they care for your loved one properly. The facility is pretty clean and I never smelled an odor. The rooms are a nice size and the residents have a private bathroom and sink. No shower in the room. Not all is bad here but like I said earlier, only place your loved one here if you can visit daily or if they are pretty independent and can change and feed themselves. The staff overall are friendly but being nice is not enough.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

In October of 2020 my grandmother suffered a stroke. Although it left her partially paralyzed, she was able to sit up and feed herself. We transferred her to Christian Care in hopes to continue rehab for a few months. While there my grandmother contracted Covid19, Shingles, a blood infection, a urinary tract infection, bed sores and her overall health decreased. She is no longer able to sit up and we have never seen her in her wheelchair or any other position other than in the bed with no tv most times. She was rushed to the ER once non responsive and the ER doctor stated that the facility told them that she had not had Covid19 which was untrue. In fact, she was still testing positive at that time. Our family made efforts to visit her from the outside several times a week but it was a struggle to get anyone on the phone for updates. When we got her home in February she was missing her top dentures, her wheelchair, and her glasses. The staff has not been able to locate any of these things and no efforts to offer replacement as of yet. Although most of the staff seems to be “nice” I would NOT recommend you sending your loved one to this facility.

The rooms were pleasant and a step above most care centers we've been to. Staff was extremely helpful and great about calling us with notifications. My aunt enjoyed their courtyard and salon the most. Staff treated her like family. Hopefully this is unnecessary but would send her to them again.

5 days without being able to watch TV because there is no picture is unconscionable for a resident who is bed/wheel chair bound. I have asked magement 3 times on 3 different days to have the TV fixed to no avail. This is not the way any resident should be treated especially based on what we are paying every month.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was at Christian Care Center of Memphis. The facility itself was great and brand new. However, the staff unfortunately provided me with misinformation. They tried to bill my mom for a $10,000 balance after they had accepted her and accepted her insurance and told me everything was covered for up to 100 days. They were short staffed and dropped her, so she fell twice while she was there. It wasn't a good experience. The facility, the grounds, and the location were great, but they didn't have a lot of full-time workers at that time. They had a lot of part-time help coming in and nobody took responsibility. The rooms were nice, adequate, and large, and the food was adequate. I had words with the president of the company and the administration office, but nobody wanted to take ownership of the mistake that they had made in their billing. We had a problem with theft there as well. Someone stole some of my mom's personal belongings and didn't bring the items back.
