We toured Shannondale of Maryville. We were looking for independent living, but they offered the other services if you need them. That's what we were looking for, someplace that would provide all your needs over a period of time if you go there. It was a newer facility and the staff seemed very good there. However, they've had some management issues, so we decided to stay closer to home and not move to Tennessee. They had a very nice dining facility and I saw the food. I just didn't have time to sit down and eat it. The outside was very nice. All the buildings were made out of brick. It was a very, very beautiful place. It had lakes. Nice villas and single-family homes were available as well. The staff and facilities were all five, but it was the management that was lacking. It was not for profit and it changed and they had a problem and I didn't want to deal with them anymore. The people that worked there were all very good. What pulled the rating down from a five to a three was the management, not the workers or the place. I'd given them a deposit and I requested to get my deposit back.

We like Shannondale of Maryville. We had people that we know that have gone there and they liked it. They've given good reviews and we visited them. The staff was very nice and very polite. They seemed to know what they were doing. The rooms were nice. They had a living room and a little kitchenette. We ate there once or twice, and the food was good.

My father and mother were both residents at Shannondale Health Care in Maryville. I can not say enough good things about the staff of nurses at the facility. They are true professionals and go over and above the call of duty to care for the residents. I would recommend Shannondale to anyone looking for a place for a family member.

Shannondale of Maryville is lovely, but a little bit sterile. The staff member showed me two apartments that were beautiful and very spacious, and you would have thought maybe I would be sold, but I found her kind of rushing me through. That makes a difference. She didn't tell me a thing about the activities, and she didn't have a brochure. I saw the two apartments, and I was very impressed with those, but that was it. The dining area was fine. What I saw was absolutely fine but nothing jumped out at me. I saw so little of it.

My mother was in Shanondale for a short while, and we were happy to have her there. As I remember, they had several activities for them, like exercises and therapy. The staff was great. My mom was in a private room, which was spacious, with a room and a bath. I ate there, and the food was good. The dining room was fine.

My mother is presently suffering from dementia and severe degenerative disc disease and has been a resident at this facility for six months. The staff takes excellent care of her. The facility is very clean, professional, well lit, spacious and has a very good Director of Nursing, Nursing and CNA staff. My father was a resident at this facility for eight months and he was given very good care. He had suffered a stroke prior to residence at Shannondale and had been at a very poor condition nursing home. It was refreshing to know that there are places that provide all that a patient and family would be pleased with. I would highly recommend Shannondale of Maryville.

When I visited this facility, I felt like the staff was very friendly. There did seem to be a shortage of staff, but everyone was kind and willing to help. They directed me to the area I needed to be in, and it seemed as if all the staff was helping someone. The facilities were very clean and tidy. The dining facilities were well kept and the food looked good for a nursing home. I would say that the food would receive a 7/10. My family member informed me that the people were very caring and were more than willing to help her with certain problems, questions, and concerns. When she had a problem with one her "roommates," the workers tried to arbitrate. When arbitration did not work they were able to split the two for a more successful matching. Occasionally, she complains of a bad worker, but this is very rare. Generally, this complaint has less to do with an actual problem and more of a perceived inconsistency in schedule.
