I visited and checked Appalachian Christian Village. Their staff was nice. They also offered full-time care and dementia care. However, when I inquired about my dog staying with me, they said my dog wouldn't be a problem and they said they would work it out, but they didn't. Also I thought their food was poor, it was cold and the salad was warm. I turned them down because of these.

Appalachian Christian Village is located in a great area of North Johnson City, within very short distance of shopping, restaurants, and the annual 4th of July fireworks show in JC. It is a very nice building - both the interior and exterior - with great Christian staff who truly care for the clients who are staying there.
The elderly are well taken care of, given respect, attention, and love. I highly recommend Appalachian Christian Village to anyone in the Tri-Cities area.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
My brother-in-law is in the Cornerstone Village Health Care Center for rehabilitation. The staff work well with you. The place is clean and well-kept, but it's an older facility that's been added onto. It has two levels. We met with the staff last week, and I was impressed with the number of people there that were aware of his physical capability. They do a standard evaluation, and if he meets the criteria he can go back to his assisted living place. The staff is more than willing to help you, and my brother-in-law said the food is good.

Christian Village was pretty good, but it was the location. The staff was friendly, and the place was pretty clean. The dining area was nice.

I decide to put my sister at Appalachian Christian Village because my cousin is there and she likes it. It impresses me for being a nice place. The people working in the assisted living are really nice. My sister has a nice little apartment that has a living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. Their meals are included in the monthly fee and they really have great meals. The dining room is really nice, if you go in there, it's like you are going in a hotel dining room. The only thing that I am not happy with is that, they don't feel like they have enough activities. Though they have some but considering that my sister has dementia, I feel like she needs to have more lively activities. I will recommend them to others.

I rate this facility 4 stars just because there is always room for improvement no matter how great a facility might be. I am a friend to many of the residents living at Appalachian Christian Village, and I completed an internship there in their wellness and activities department as part of a requirement for my undergraduate degree. This facility has many activities going on each day of the week. The residents can participate in a variety of exercise classes including chi-gong, strength, balance, and seated yoga. There are also trips planned every week for any residents who want to go to Hardees for breakfast, Wal-Mart for shopping, and when special events come to town, the residents are taken there if they so choose, for example, the orchestra at Freedom Hall. All of the staff and faculty are very caring and personable people, and they each go above and beyond his or her duties. They are more than just caregivers to all of the residents; they are truly caring friends.

Appalachian Christian Village had a very professional, clean, friendly, and even FUN atmosphere; and I have yet to say that about any other nursing home or other care provider. The staff had continuous activities prepared for the clients and paid constant attention to their wants and needs throughout the day.

Our community offers security services day and night. No one need ever be fearful and feel insecure about someone coming in who shouldn't be there.

Our community utilizes care plan conferences, phone calls if there are any significant changes in their condition and updates if their plan of care changes. Due to COVID restrictions, we are also offering virtual calls to keep our residents connected with their loved ones.
What is the care staff-to-resident ratio at Cornerstone Village North during daytime and nighttime hours?
As our community is small, there is a caregiver 24/7 and a licensed nurse. Additional staff on days include an activity director who also doubles as an additional caregiver when needed and a housekeeper.

They may enjoy the central courtyard area.
