What ongoing training does the staff receive in dementia care?
Our full time memory care coordinator leads a team who cares for 25 residents. She coordinates all training of the team and insures that the entire team has the skills necessary to provide all assistance necessary.
Describe the overall population of assisted living residents at The Phoenix at Greer. What is their average age? What are their favorite things to do?
We have a wonderful active group of residents who enjoy forming relationships with each other and our team. Our residents span from 48 years old to 100. You are never to young to enjoy letting our team take care of all the daily activities and you just enjoy life. We offer onsite physicians, podiatrist, RN, and soon to come dental.
What programs or activities does The Phoenix at Greer offer to enrich residents' well-being?
We have a daily schedule of activities beginning at 10:00 am each morning with devotion then exercise and a rotating slate of resident requested afternoon fun events. In addition to the three meals, we have a hydration and snack cart that visits each suite between meals. We travel once a week to have lunch at local restaurants and shopping events. We do like to visit the local ice cream stand and enjoy events sponsored by the city.
What places are near The Phoenix at Greer or within walking distance for assisted living residents to enjoy?
We are conveniently located within two traffic lights of retail and dining options. Our community is across the street from the hospital and physician offices.
What transportation services does The Phoenix at Greer offer to assisted living residents?
We have scheduled off campus outings several times a month based on the Activity Calendar. We offer free transportation to Doctor's appointments within a fifteen-mile radius.
What makes the chef or dining program at The Phoenix at Greer exceptional? What kind of menu can assisted living residents expect?
In addition to our select menu of the day, residents are always welcome to choose options from our always available menu. Whether it is soups, cheeseburger or peanut butter and jelly sandwich it's always available.
What safety features or security measures does The Phoenix at Greer offer to assisted living residents?
We have closed circuit 24 hour recorded surveillance in our common areas. Suite access only the resident can gain entry using a programmed wrist band. Emergency pendents that each resident may use to contact our team members by alerting a pager they wear.
How does The Phoenix at Greer keep residents' families informed about their loved ones?
We are always available to speak with families and each should feel comfortable asking any question about a loved one. Additionally, we have quarterly care plan meetings where a written formal plan is established for each resident.
What is the care staff-to-resident ratio at The Phoenix at Greer during daytime and nighttime hours?
We love our residents and have a nurse for both memory care and assisted living 24 hours a day. Additionally, we have team members assigned according to the needs of our current population. We respect our care team and never want them to feel overworked, thus we have enough care team to assist all of our residents.

Yes, we are pet-friendly! We have beautiful grounds for your fluffy friend to enjoy!
What ongoing senior care training does the staff receive?
If needs arise in the years to come, know all of our team members are NIDE (National Institute for Dementia Education) certified, which is a mouthful to say, but simply means that our team members are prepared and qualified to interact with your loved one as a unique human being, not a case study and have the ability to to recognize any cognitive changes. We utilize an online pharmacy who trains our med techs and performs ongoing training. Our RN, and CNA team are licensed by the state and do additional training online through the Relias portal. Come visit us. When it comes to great senior living, we didn’t follow the blueprint – we wrote the book.
How many staffers are on duty in the daytime and overnight?
We love our residents and have a nurse for both memory care and assisted living 24 hours a day. Additionally, we have team members assigned according to the needs of our current population. We respect our care team and never want them to feel over worked, thus we have enough care team to assist all of our residents.
What safety features or security measures does The Phoenix at Greer provide to protect residents who wander?
We have a concierge at the front entrance from 8:00 am until 7:00 pm to great each resident and visitor. All residents and visitors sign in and out in our scan check system and after hours visitors are greeted by the care team at the front door.
What programs or activities does The Phoenix at Greer offer to keep residents engaged? How does the staff engage residents' long-term memories?
We have a daily schedule of activities beginning at 10:00 am each morning with devotion then exercise and a rotating slate of resident requested afternoon fun events. Every week our residents engage in activities such as singing and music, bingo, wii bowling, art, gardening, corn hole, and much more. In addition, to the three meals we have a hydration and snack cart that visits each suite between meals. We travel once a week to have lunch at local restaurants and shopping events. We do like to visit the local ice cream stand and enjoy events sponsored by the city. Our memory care residents engage in four major categories each day: physical, cognitive, social, and emotional. We make a specific plan for each resident in memory care. We determine which preparation is best suited to the resident and what aids are necessary to ensure all needs are met.

Our community sits back from the road so we enjoy a quiet area surrounded by woodlands while still being very close to all of our needs. The property also features gorgeous, large outdoor living spaces to enjoy.
