This is one of the finest skilled care providers in the Lancaster County Area. My Mom was admitted 5/18/11 and has received excellent care since her arrival. The household concept is wonderful. She has gotten to know most of the 18 members of her household and enjoys their company especially at meal time. The staff is outstanding. The nurses, the aides, the dining room staff, housekeeping, laundry, therapy etc. have all provided excellent care in a caring and truly compassionate manner. I feel blessed that we have found this living situation for my Mom who needs care 24 hours a day. Thank you to all who work at the Mennonite Home. I appreciate everything you do.

Label all clothes and belongings, even items the resident may not wear. (Better yet, do not bring anything the resident will not wear). I had a suit in resident's closet for burial, which was missing upon death. All belongings were taken to storage the day of death, because I could not get to the facility the same day. The social worker admitted the suit was in the closet, but the supervisor would not reimburse me for the cost of a suit for burial.
Second issue- the nursing staff could not get an IV into resident, and called me to ask if they should give up. I said no, take her to ER. The ER was successful. I question the skill level of the nursing staff.
Otherwise, staff were pleasant, food looked appetizing, facility was clean and pleasant, and the hygiene of residents seemed to be good.

Woodcrest Villa is top of the line. It's probably the second nicest in the county that my mother lives in. They have Bingo, a pool, a gym, they get them into little groups at night and play dominos or Skip-Bo. They have a raised garden and they let people grow vegetables or whatever they want to grow. They have a dog park. There are different sizes and kinds of rooms. Her room is not huge, but it's not a studio, it's a 1-bedroom with a bath and a full kitchen. She really likes the staff. However, she told me that sometimes the food is cold and sometimes it's not seasoned very well. The dining area is big and you have all you can eat in the one dining room and you can go back as many times as you want. They also have another dining room that you can be served in and a cafe, which is only open at lunchtime. There's a small store there where you can buy food and other items. They have a bank on location, a hairdresser, and a pharmacy. If you need blood work, you can get that done there, too. They have a doctor that comes in and you can make an appointment to get your nails cut there. One of the best things about it is if you run out of money, they don't kick you out. You always have a place to stay.

I visited this facility
Woodcrest Villa is a very nice place run by the Mennonite church. We have a friend who moved there from Florida so we took a look. Everything is brand new and excellent. The staff are all Mennonites, they’re religious people, and they take good care of you.

I visited 3 CCRCs for my loved one with memory loss. All were nice but Mennonite Home was much more responsive to questions, arranging a tour, etc.
The care given to my loved one has been fantastic.
We are well pleased with the staff, the facility, and the management of Mennonite Home.

I visited this facility
I visited Woodcrest Villa/Mennonite Home and I liked it. It was very nice. I wasn't that impressed with the apartment, but the inside the common area, the dining room, the furniture, and all things were really nice. I had lunch there and I thought the food was excellent. The staff welcomed me very well.
