I visited this facility

We went up Masonic Village at Lafayette Hill and we went right into the assisted living and nursing side. They had plenty of staff and they seemed to be taking very good care of their patients, but that instant nursing home smell hit me. After you've seen other facilities and when you go into a facility like that, it's a letdown. Everything in there was older. It's a really old building. There's a lot of benevolent care there and that kind of thing which is fantastic. Everything just seemed kind of a little rundown. The staff was lovely and super friendly, and there were lots of staff. If my in-laws had fewer means, I would certainly look a little closer at that place. It just wasn't what we were looking for, for them. We did not even look into a room there. All four of us were like "No, this is not even going to happen," so we're like, "We don't want to waste your time." We were there probably 15 minutes because it was depressing. People who need serious care are what we saw there. My mother-in-law still looks pretty young and still is fairly spry. We walked in there and it's like people that look like 100 years old. They want to be able to socialize and be with people that are of similar age. It's not a bad facility and I don't want to say anything bad about it. I think it's probably a very good facility. It looked like they were taking very good care of their residents. The staff was interacting, laughing, and smiling with the residents. It was really good to see actually. I'd rate it high because for what it is, it's a really good place. My in-laws have friends that live in the independent area of that and they love it. We didn't see any independent living. We only just saw assisted living and skilled nursing. We didn't even look at the rooms. We just looked at the common areas and my in-laws were instantly, "No, we're not doing this." For what it was, it looked like a great facility. It was very clean and everything, just a little rundown, but the staff was really good, super nice, super friendly, and took the time out to talk to us about what they offered. They were very good and there were lots of staff, which is amazing; I didn't see that at some of the other facilities.

Masonic Village at Lafayette Hill was very nice. We didn't go there because of the location, but it's a very nice place. Everything was very nice. They had independent living. The dining area was very nice. It's a great place to go, but it has to suit you or your location. The food was very good. They have you come to visit, and they include lunch with your visit. It's closer to Philadelphia, so there's so much more to do there. The staff was good. The facade was very tasteful and very nice.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My brother is already in a senior center called Masonic Village. It's very nice. He has his own room. They provide housekeeping and aides coming in three times a week. It's very nice. He is in independent living but he has an aide. The staff members are wonderful; they’re absolutely wonderful. They have very nice apartments. They have a bowling alley, they have a pool table, they have crafts, they have a talent show, and they have a library. Before COVID he would volunteer in the library to help other people get around. It’s very, very nice. He is younger than most of them, but that’s OK. He was there when my father was there, so when my father passed he went down to a one-bedroom and they found a one-bedroom in the same area for him. They're great. They're fabulous. The place is beautiful. I have no idea about the price, but it's one of the better ones.

I visited this facility

I toured Masonic Village at Lafayette Hill. Everything was very positive. It's a place that I would go to. It's very nice. The people were friendly. The rooms were beautiful. They had a lot of recreations. Everything was perfect. You can sign up for trips if you're up to it, but I'm not sure my mother is going to be up to doing that. The units were like nice-sized apartments with numbers on them. The dining room had tablecloths, and you can order from the menu. If you don't like what's on the daily menu, there's always things on the left side that you can order separately. You are assigned tables. The person who took me around said that if you're not happy with the people you're sitting with, they can re-arrange it, but that shouldn't be a problem. It seemed like everybody we met in the hall was friendly, nice, and happy. It's perfect. I would recommend it to anybody.

Accomodating with the move-in and responsive with repairs. Many activities keep my loved one engaged and vital mentally, socially and physically. Very courteous and respectful dining staff. 2015 physical improvements contribute to outdoors enjoyment.

My husband is in a nursing home. He is in Masonic Village. He is getting nursing care there. It's wonderful! It's terrific! He got very good care. The staff is very patient and very attentive. He is in a room by himself and he has a TV, a couple of chairs and a big closet. It is a very large room. He has everything he needs. This place is really great.

Masonic Village is definitely a clean facility. A very nice couple showed us their unit and they were good sized rooms including a reasonable kitchen. They had flexible meal plans and only a small percent of the units are rentals and the new ones are going to be the continuing care retirement communities.

Masonic Village is a new facility. It's lovely and very large. It was more of like you live in your own apartment all by yourself and I just thought it was too remote for my mother. The apartments were very nice with a very luxurious setting, but they did not have that homey touch. It was more like you are at a hotel resort, but there were no people around.
