I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom was at Butler Street Senior Living. The staff were very caring, very nice, and friendly to us and to my mom. We stayed with her every day and they were very nice. The thing I liked the least was they were understaffed, and they didn't have a lot of activities for the dementia unit. When we went there, they told us that they had activities in the evening and stuff, and they didn't. And the staff couldn't because they were doing patient care. Sometimes they would only have one staff on for like nine patients with dementia, so they couldn't do activities. My mom's room was very nice, clean and spacious. All the other rooms were bigger than hers, but we chose the small room because it was right outside where the staff sat at their table and stuff, so that she didn't have to walk down the hall. But it had windows, a nice bathroom, and a walk-in shower. I tried their food, and it was good. My mom liked it when they had ham and sweet potatoes. She liked everything. They had their big meal at noon and then they had sandwiches at night. I saw mostly where they might have tuna salad sandwiches or chicken salad sandwiches in the evening, but during the day they had very good desserts and ice cream. One problem was that they didn't do many activities for the dementia unit. They would get them together to play different word games. They would sometimes try arts and crafts, painting mugs or decorations for the holidays. The staff were very nice, but there weren't enough staff. Like they had problems keeping up with the medications and treatments. The medical care was not the greatest. With personal care, they don't have to be medically trained, and that bothered me because these people needed things. We paid a lot, but then we had to supply everything. You had to supply diapers, soap, and shampoo.

I visited this facility

My mother will be moving into Butler Street Senior Living. It was just completely remodeled a year ago. The staff was very friendly. They have a lot of outside space for the residents. The cafeteria and the dining room were all brand new and the capacity at present is only about 40 people with a maximum capacity of about 75. She's going to be in memory care for the first 30 days and then we're going to reassess. She is probably going to go up to assisted living after the first 30 days. They have a separate area for memory care and that's a pretty small capacity. I think the maximum capacity for memory care is about 15 to 16 people maximum. That's a separate unit from the rest of it, but they still go to activities and the dining hall with non-memory care/non-locked unit members. It's not gourmet, but it's good food. We visited a few other ones and we picked this one.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom has moved into Butler Street Senior Living. It's a brand-new facility, and they have 24-hour security, round the clock care. They have a doctor and a nurse on staff. The nurse visits twice a week. The doctor comes, either once or twice a month. If there's something needed, they have transportation to all the surrounding hospitals. The staff so far seem nice, pleasant, professional. I said the facilities are brand new, so the rooms are brand new. There are residents already. There have been residents in the community since, I guess, June or July of last year. The facility is only about six months old. The dining area was large, clean, and nice. They have TV and telephone. They have a hair salon, game room, library, and chapel. So far, upkeep and maintenance seem good. It seemed like a reasonable rate for the room and the services provided. They have activities. They have daily activities, and mom is already involved in a couple of things.

I visited this facility

The tour at Butler Street Senior Living was wonderful. It's gorgeous inside, it's all redone, it's all repainted, and all the rooms are gorgeous. They're just a little small for what I feel that my dad needs. There's a big seating area out front and you can go outside and the meals look good. It's just that the rooms themselves were too small for him, but it was all brand new. He spends a lot of time in his room watching TV, and I didn't want him sitting in that small of a room. Plus they're not all full yet, they're just starting because they just opened in June. And they don't have things like overnight nursing or medical coverage overnight, so I was a little leery of that. But other than that, it was a very nice facility. They were out making bags of some sort, they were doing crafts, they were playing games and there's a table for people to play cards. There's a big-screen TV and they can do movie nights. There's a bar downstairs for happy hour on Fridays. I like the staff, they were very personable. They talk to all the people as they walk by them, and knew them by name. I like the layout, there was an elevator to get you up and down the floors, or you could walk. The menu looks good. There was a little bit of everything for everyone, and they had a lot of alternates if you didn't like what they were doing for dinner.

I went to Butler Street Senior Living. The staff was very, very nice and very knowledgeable. The rooms were nice, and they're certainly roomy enough. Everything was great. I was asking about their personal care, but I inquired about their memory care as well. The dining area was very beautiful, clean, very comfy, and homey looking. They had plenty of activities. The place was beautiful. It's very clean. It's a nice homey setting.

The tour at Butler Street Senior Living was a good experience. I learned a lot, they educated me on a lot of things. The lady was pretty pleasant and the facility looked nice and clean. It seemed like they took very good care of the place. The rooms looked like they were nice too. Some of them had different sizes but they were nice. They took me inside and showed me a porch where people could stay. They took me to the game room and the dining area. They were pretty decent, everything looked like it was nice, neatly put together, and clean. They also have an elevator.

I visited this facility

We're going to place my dad at Butler Street Senior Living when they open. It's beautiful. It isn't quite done yet, but it's beautiful. The staff member who accommodated me did a great job. The room is beautiful, and it's a nice size. My dad could get a full-sized bed in it. We took him over there when we visited. They have everything. They have a salon and a big bar. They have outside dining, too. It's beautiful.
