I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband was at Dunmore Health Care Center. The staff members were very good, and some were much better than others. They were really great, but they didn't want to deal with negative things, and they didn't want to deal with billing or anything. They owe me over $5,000 now. They billed me for $11,000 and I know that's not right. They all worked with me and I think that my husband got good care. He was in a shared room, but he always wanted to be out with the nurses. Whatever he wanted, they let him do, and they were right there with him. They had activities and my husband even participated in them, and that wasn't like him. They went out of their way to work with him, and that's a hard job for anybody. They were also good with everyone. The RNs were good. They knew how to psychologically work with the residents and play games with them. They did a really good job on their meals. They had good bread there. They're not perfect, but they're sure much better than average. They always had people in there cleaning. They just weren't very organized financially. They don't answer the phone most of the time, and that's not good value in service.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father is in Dunmore Health Care Center. I've spoken with him and visited him. I've talked to people there, and he's getting very sufficient care. He's content. My dad is fully cognizant. His mind is excellent. It's just that his body is slowing down. He's 95 years old and he's very much aware of everything. He participates in his own care and he makes his own decisions and that sort of thing. The other day, he told me that he was glad that he was there because he feels safe, so that's good. Anybody that I've talked to has been very helpful, very polite, very upbeat, and energetic. My dad was very content with the staff. There's always one or two staff that doesn't work, but he's fine with the people that have been offering their assistance to him. It's kind of hard because I've only been able to be there once and I couldn't go in because of the Covid thing. It looks nice on the outside, but that's it. Because of Covid, they're restricted with what they're doing. They're doing the physical therapy and that sort of thing, but no outside activities or anything are coming in and visitations are limited to just two hours a day with a prerequisite in advance and all that stuff. I sat from the outside and I was in the lobby. That's as far as I was able to get and everything looked fine and nice. It's a big building. The food is OK.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My brother is in Dunmore Health Care Center. It has two floors. They bring him his meals and give him his medications, and he goes for therapy. I was never in there, but the outside seems really nice. You can't go in because of Covid. It's not like a nursing home that has five or six floors, that's big and smells. This isn't like that. It's clean, nice, and they are very good. The staff is wonderful. Some people walk around like my brother would be, and there are some that aren't able and are in wheelchairs. It's a stepdown from a nursing home. He said they're nice, but he said he can't stand being there. You can't have visitors. They're on lockdown. I brought donuts up there last week and I couldn't go in. I just hit the buzzer and they came out, and I talked with the nurses to make sure he gets it. He doesn't want to be there. He said the food was good. They feed you good three meals a day and snacks. The social worker was very nice. They seemed like nice people. My friend's aunt has been there for two years now, and she said they're all nice. She likes it and that's how I know about that place. She's very pleased with where her aunt is staying. I have nothing against the people, my brother just doesn't want to be there.

My father is a resident. The rooms are clean. The staff is AMAZING! They are attentive to my father's needs. They actually care about the residents which puts my mind at ease. At times, I feel, they go above and beyond which is very comforting. Thank You to the whole staff for their kindness and patience with my father as well as with my whole family. Definitely HEROES!!!

I would recommend Dunmore Health Care for your loved ones. We are very happy with the care given to my mom during the past weeks at this facility. The staff are all friendly and very accommodating to our requests. Although its never easy to make the decision on where a loved one will go, we have peace of mind that she is receiving the best care.

My first experience with DHCC was incredible starting with admissions department. So very helpful and there for me with any questions or concerns . The facility has a great team and work together to strive to make it better everyday. They make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive and treat our loved ones with respect and kindness. The facility is very clean and has wonderful activities for their residents. I go there on a regular basis and feel good about my brother being there.

My experience with Dunmore Healthcare has been absolutely wonderful. Every department has been extremely helpful starting with admissions, nursing/CNA's, therapy, care management, administrative team, activity director, and social workers. They are very friendly and caring towards are loved ones and us as family. I would definitely recommend Dunmore Healthcare Center for a short term or long term stay. They are always striving to improve their facility for the comfort and care of their patients/residents.

My dad was here for rehab and my dad recently passed away. I blame this place for it. They never came for 15-30 minutes when you rang.wesley village was 10 times better and the rehab center in the hospital was too. We didn't have a choice but to put him here.i would never again put someone here. Food was awful. Place was fair looking. I don't recommend this nursing home to place someone in to.

I thought the facility was great. The staff was very friendly and I found them to be very knowledgeable also. They had a lot of activities to keep the guests engaged and active. I found the security at the place to be good also since you had to sign in first as to whom you were visiting and also had to be buzzed in. There hours were also great especially to those of us who work during the day and can only visit at night. I found the facility to be very clean both inside and out. The rooms were quite spacious and had plenty of room for clothes and personal belongings. The staff was always eager to give updates whenever asked and really seemed to know what they were doing. I also liked that you could go and sit with your relative at dinner time. I feel that that brought some comfort and normalcy to patients.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Nobody likes to have to send their parents or relatives to a nursing home, especially when you hear so many horror stories of abuse and neglect. My own grandmother was in a nursing home years ago; she was there for 8 years before she had passed. The facility that my grandmother was at always gave me a bad impression. on the other hand, Dunmore Health Care Center was completely opposite of what I had experienced prior. The first thing I noticed during visits is that it smelled clean and there were always fresh flowers and vibrant paintings throughout the facility. The staff was friendly and always greeted us; it felt like they truely wanted to be there, it wasn't just a job! My father-in-law was always clean, regularly bathed. Another thing that I noticed was that they had a variety of activities to keep the residents occupied, they weren't all just placed infront of a television and left there for hours. All in all, Dunmore Health Care Center tried their best to make the residents as comfortable as possible and truely treated them like human beings.
