I visited this facility

The Pines Senior Living had the memory care facility that my mom would need. My father was very impressed with their memory care center. The woman who took us on a tour was very informative and very pleasant. They had a consistent busy schedule for their residents. It wasn't like they just sat around all day. They engaged them, which was something that my father felt was critical for mom. The facility seemed very clean. They had a salon, a game room, a place for exercising, and a movie theater, which also doubled as a place for services. Next to their cafeteria, in the same open space, was a place where they could do cooking with the residents. They would also take them outside. So, there just seemed to be things for them to do.

The Pines Senior Living was the newest among all the facilities that I toured and it was, by, far, the nicest. It was not so cozy, but it was definitely a very nice facility and the price was also commensurate with that. It had a very nice room layout, but only 60 of the 72 units were occupied. The staff who gave me the tour was excellent.

The Pines Senior Living was very nice. They have a 2:1 ratio of patients to staff. They have 24-hour coverage. They have a nice patio where you can go off and see the birds outside. The patients do not have to wear a bell because all the doors are corded, so if you have to use a cord, you go from one section to another section.

The Pines Senior Living was absolutely beautiful. I didn't meet many staff. I only met who I'm assuming was the director, but she was only on the job for three months. She didn't have as much knowledge as the director of the other place, but she was very kind. We did a very nice tour. The building is beautiful. It's much more modern. My sister's very modern. She likes modern furniture, so I think she'd like the Pines. I liked the activities a lot. I liked the menus a lot. It was impeccably clean. But like I said, I didn't meet any other staff other than a receptionist and the director. They had bingo, they had arts and crafts, and they used the same room for both. They had a library. They do the rosary, I think it was every day and devotions, and my sister is very Catholic, so I know that that would have been a thing she would have done. They had like two activities in the morning, two in the afternoon, two in the evening. The dining area was beautiful, very nice. They also do happy hour there twice a week. They don't have a physical bar, but they have like a peninsula that they do there. Like that afternoon, they were gonna bake something, so the chef was going to come out to this island, and it was an actual kitchen behind him, and he was going to bake in the lead, and he would put stuff down in front of the ladies and they would help him knead the dough or whatever was needed. They also used that same peninsula for their bar when they had happy hour. They have a hair salon. They have a game room. There were women there doing puzzles. They have special tables with sides on them, so the puzzle does involve the side. And then they had this long table. It reminded me of a shuffleboard, but I'm not positive if it was a shuffleboard. And they have a beautiful room for families just coming in to visit so they don't have to take them to their private living quarters.

I went to the Pines, and it was relatively new, beautiful, and pristine. They had a beauty salon, a big dining room, a movie theater, an exercise room, and a big community area. However, I was creeped out that I did not see a single resident, staff member, or housekeeper in the assisted living area. They had a memory care unit, and the residents there were sitting around and watching TV after coming in from a picnic. The person doing the tour didn't know we were coming, even though we had an appointment, and so we waited until they were back from lunch. I think they're overpriced.

Pets are not allowed at The Pines at Clarks Summit. The staff was very professional, very friendly, very neat, and very pleasant. You can have your food brought to your room if you didn’t want to go to the dining room. They had exercise rooms, bingo, TVs in certain rooms, and an art room. I saw a two-bedroom apartment with a good-sized bathroom, a kitchen, a sink, a small refrigerator, and a microwave. They also had a big parking lot.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom absolutely loves it at The Pines. She's been there a month and she's very happy. We made a good choice. They recently took her to the park, a concert, and to mass. She has a button and all she has to do is push it and they take her to the dining room. The staff is very accommodating. They have patios and she likes to go out there. Someone usually goes out and talks to her. They have free telephones, TV, and transportation.

The Pines At Clarks Summit was very nice and clean but small. The rooms were lovely and had dressers, nice lamps, and an easy chair. They had a beautiful dining room. There were physical activities, like exercises; crafts; a little library; and a big hall where they gather for Christmas. Everything was perfect.
