I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

There were not a lot of residents at Shelbourne Personal Care Home, and so the ratio of worker to residents was pretty good, and they were very nice. They kept me in the loop about everything. Everyone was friendly and pleasant. They were very good with the people. It was very clean, and the dining room was nice, and they would have the people sit with the same residents every meal, so they got to know each other and everything was clean. The food was good. Mom had a roommate. The rooms were all so clean and were nice. They were furnished already, except for the TV, but they had the furniture and everything you needed. They had bingo a couple of times a week and they had an exercise class. They had a puzzle out in the main room that anybody could go to any time to put together. So, they had different activities. The aides and the nurses were very, very good. They had some flooding a while back, and they were doing remodeling, and even at that, everything was so nice, and then they just opened up the part that had been closed, but it was very nice all the way around. They had meal alternatives if you didn't want what they had. You had a couple of different choices you could get. If you want grilled cheese or peanut butter and jelly every day, they give you whatever. They have a courtyard that's enclosed. So, they couldn't get off the property, and it was very nice. There were flowers and fish out in the yard, and it had ponds and stuff so the residents could go out and look at the fish. When it comes to the value, they were very fair about that. They worked with us so we were able to pay for what we needed to pay, and they were very good.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father-in-law has moved into Shelbourne Personal Care Home. I like that the size of the place is not that huge and it's all on one level. The staff is friendly and caring. Just like anybody else, they're short staffed, because they can't find people, but they do the best they can. He has a private room. It's nice and clean. People come and go as they please. It's out in the country. They have two dining areas and both seem to be nice. They have a library and they have an activities room. They have a nice little outside facility where people can come and they have a koi pond. One other thing is they give a 10 percent veteran discount, which is nice.

I visited this facility

Shelbourne Personal Care Home was very cute. It's small, clean, and newly remodeled. They said at this point, they're only at 60% capacity, so it seemed quiet. Everyone was really nice and very helpful. In the activity room, they painted pumpkins and did some Halloween kind of stuff. The staff who helped me was really good. The rooms were slightly smaller, which isn't that big of a deal, but the shower itself was really small. I don't know exactly how my mother would be able to use it. It was small.

I visited this facility

The people there said the food was very good. The staff was very helpful and I had no appointment. They seemed very caring to the people. We were told another Company took them over last month. They are all excited about what changes will be made in near future. Of course Covid has slowed the process. They checked me out when I came in and took my temperature. I wore a mask and gloves.

I visited this facility

As I toured the facility the staff was very happy. The place smelled good and the walk through was great. The activities, chapel and library was the biggest I have yet to see.
