Memory Care Reviews for Pacifica Senior Living Portland

September 24, 2020

By Teri K

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My Mother has been in Pacifica for two years now. This past year has been really hard to deal with because of the COVID 19 virus. We cannot visit her in person to give her the love and kisses and hugs she always loves to get. Pacifica's staff have gone out of their way to make this easier on Mom and us. We get our Facetime calls with Mom twice a week now and we also get window visits with her too. I am so grateful for the loving and caring staff that take such good care of Mom. It makes it a little bit easier to know she is in the hands of such good people! Thank you so much.

The facility is very well appointed and clean. The staff is caring and very helpful. The rooms are pleasant and well maintained. Pacifica has been a wonderful place for my Mother. I would highly recommend it to those who need memory care.

I was coming with my friend Ann, to visit Larry. I am so impressed with your staff, the atmosphere and care you give. Larry seem calm, and for that we are grateful. One special touch is your cookies at the front desk. It sometimes hard to see your loved ones as they are...but that little kind touch, gives a boost and a smile. I was there last Sunday and you were serving the most amazing lemon/white chocolate cookies. My father in laws birthday is coming up, and he’ll be 90. He’s is fortunate not to need care...but would LOVE these cookies. Might I be so bold as to ask for the recipe? Once again, special thanks for taking care, not only of Larry but of my friend as well. Your kindness is so appreciated. Thank you! Kris Clarke

I visited this facility

I didn't like the way Pacifica Senior Living Portland was arranged. They had little communities within the building and they were locked up in a big room like a cafeteria. Their bedrooms were off and it was confusing and very hard to get where you were going. It just turned me off.

Provider Response

Tami S., Resident Services Director, has done an excellent job ever since she started here! The difficulties we have had at times getting communication sorted out about mom’s care have been so much improved and we really appreciate how helpful she has been and has gone out of her way to help us deal with the emotional side of mom’s decline. Thank you.

Provider Response

David, we strive for 100% satisfaction, and it is great to see you had such a positive experience at Pacifica Senior Living Portland. If there's anything further we can do for you, we are happy to help. We are always here for you and your family.

I visited this facility

My father is now living in Pacifica Senior Living Portland. I think that they are doing that they are required to do. The staff that I have interacted with has been pretty helpful and kind. The rooms are fine compared to other memory care facilities that I have visited and small but not as small as others. I think that they are very basic and seemed to maintain cleanliness well. The food was not what I would want to eat every day because it's kind of bland. One of the things that I really like about it is that they have a long, wide hallway with doors on either side that go into separate cottages where there are a dozen private rooms around a very nicely-appointed communal living room with a big-screen TV, a couple of couches, terraces to sit near other people and read. They have a dining area and a kitchen. It's a very nice setup and put residents into a cottage based on the level of dementia and how advanced it is; they try to keep people of the same general level in the same cottage.

I visited this facility

Pacifica Senior Living is OK. The fee is pretty reasonable. It has multiple levels of care. Their outside area is pretty big. Their building is kind of old though. Their rooms are of good size. I would recommend them but they just need to update the interiors.

Provider Response

I am a friend or relative of resident

I have been very happy with Pacifica Senior Living. Both my mother and my mother-in-law have lived in this community for two years. The homey atmosphere in the cottages is very welcoming and comfortable. They offer a wide variety of activities and outings which keeps folks engaged and this was very important to me in considering where would be the best place for my loved ones. My experience has been that everyone who works there - from maintenance to caregivers to nurses to the executive director wants to do whatever is possible to provide the care my loved ones need. I feel I can approach anyone and ask for help as I might need it. It is so very hard to have someone you love move into memory care, but there is no other place I would want my loved ones to be except at Pacifica.

Provider Response

Hi Sheri, Thank you for your positive review, we are so happy that you shared. We are very glad that your mother and mother in law are here and happy, as we enjoy having them. We have recently started a Facebook page with weekly photos and updates. You can find a link to the page on our website. http://www.pacificaportland.com/. We hope to see you for our Thanksgiving dinner on November 20th!
