I visited this facility

Assumption Village was spotlessly clean. It really smelled lovely. The people that we talked to as we went through looked happy and were able to relate with us. The rooms that we looked at were really lovely, too. I personally liked the studio space, which was the cheapest, better than the one-bedroom. They have a wonderful courtyard in the middle, and they have access to masses on Wednesday and Sunday. They're still under COVID restrictions, so they're only having lunch communally, but the lunch room was bright and pleasant, and they just had two people at each table. It was really quite nice. In the assisted living area, the cost of getting into it seemed very doable. It was less than $3,000 for the three meals a day, the activities, and care. All of the staff looked happy and perky. The assistant supervisor who took us around was lovely and really nice. She spent a lot of time with us. The people working there looked like they were being very diligent. They were young and energetic and they definitely did a good job of keeping the place clean. The number of activities was just great.

I visited this facility

We had a brief tour of Assumption Village. It was a smaller community, but they didn't have a lot of extra activities. It's a very religious based center, so there were church services three times a week and some rosary activities. At the time, the dining hall was closed because of COVID issues, so they did not have people coming down for meals yet. I only met the lady that gave us the tour, and she was very polite, very nice, and very informative. The place was clean, modern, and nice. It just seemed a little empty and not active, but that is because of COVID. It could be totally different some other day.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father is in Assumption Village. It's really nice. His room is a 1-bedroom and he has a little kitchenette with a mini refrigerator, a microwave, and a little sink. He has a small living room and a separate bedroom with a bathroom. They have three meals in the dining room. He's happy. I've only eaten there a couple of times with him. Everybody's been really nice and friendly. The facility is about 15 years old, so it's fairly new.

I often visit my grandmother at Assumption Village and absolutely love it there! The grounds are always beautiful and we often take walks to the Farmers market which is only a couple of blocks away to get fresh produce so she can keep it on hand in her apartment. The staff is always so helpful and we hope she can live out her life here. As a family it has set our minds at ease knowing she is and will be well cared for.

I am a friend or relative of resident

What a wonderful community! Family of friends reside here and I'm always impressed by the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. The facility itself is really beautiful and the staff is all wonderful. It is a faith based community, but that's not the only aspect. The activities director is wonderful and the residents always rave about the wonderful activities. If my own grandmother was still alive, I'd love to have her move into Assumption Village!

The people who are the true heroes here are the caregivers. My grandmother spent five years in their care and the caregivers make that place happen. They will go out of their way to support their patients. When my grandmother ended up under the care of hospice, they never left her alone. They stayed by her side and made sure she knew they loved her. That meant more then anything to me. If I had any complaints about this, it would be the administration. The admin of the facility was hard headed and hard to deal with. They tend to overwork their staff, and staff has been injured more then once.
