Mennonite Village's location would have been ideal for us, that's what we liked the best about the place. What we liked the least was they don't offer 1-bedrooms to anybody unless they already currently live in the facility. So my dad wouldn't have been able to be on the waiting list to get a 1-bedroom, and that kind of eliminated the place in his mind. Other than that, it's a nice place and they had a beautiful garden area. The people seemed very nice, and the staff who gave the tour was very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. They had everything everybody else had, including an extensive garden area so that people could do gardening if they wanted to. And because it's located with two other sections like duplexes and whatnot, there's a bigger area for people to maneuver around. They're not just locked to a building. The facility seemed very nice when we went in. It's in a residential neighborhood kind of area.

I did not care for Mennonite Village. The hallways were too narrow and dark. The communal living area was too small. The tour guide was inexperienced. She was very new. I did not see any of residents. I did not see any activities, and for me, that's not a good sign. I was only shown a studio because there's just a small wall between the bed area and the living area and a kitchen. It was too small for me. That's not what I was looking for. I would give the facilities a rating of five because that was only one small part of the whole area. The staff drove us all around the whole campus, and the rest of the campus looked very nice. I would have liked to see any recreation area like a game room. She did not show me a hair salon or a general area where people can gather. There were not enough amenities.

We are going to move into Mennonite Village this February. We liked the courtesy of the people and the cleanliness of the apartment. The apartment seemed to fit us just perfectly, and the staff seemed very professional. It has everything that everyone else has and maybe more. The rooms were very clean. Anything that was wrong, they were replacing or repairing. They had on staff maintenance person all the time to do the repairs and keep the kitchen looking like it had brand new cabinets. Everything was really very nice to move into.

My parents stay at Mennonite Village. They already lived in the independent living there, so they just got transferred into the assisted living. Our overall experience has been great. Everything was easy. My parents already lived in that community in the independent living, so it was easy to transfer over to the assisted living side. Although I have not had it yet, my parents' feedback about the food is good. The facility is really great. Right now, they are on a lockdown due to COVID, so there is not a lot of activity, just the standard things. They have a shuttle service, they have puzzle room and crafts, and they have a garden area. They are doing a great job.

My husband and I have lived in independent living for over two years now. Our home has ample room, lots of sun and is nicely designed for easy living. The staff is excellent. Residents are encouraged to know the staff by name and they know us by name. If I submit a request for help with almost any problem, it is answered promptly and if something doesn't work, it gets fixed. We do all kind of physical exercise, both staffed and in the gym, my husband has a painting group, there is a book club, game gatherings, dinners - we can't do everything we would like to do because there is so much to do. We are so grateful to live here.

Mennonite Village was awesome. It's spotless. They had lots of wonderful help and caring people. Everything about it was amazing. It's a very beautiful facility. We have friends that live there. They have independent living, assisted living, nursing care, and three stages of memory care. The food was very good and you can order whatever you like off the menu. It's about 300 acres with 700 people. They have all kinds of facilities for recreation and all different stages of care. I would recommend it to anybody no matter what stage of life they're in.
