Our Life Engagement Director is creative and offers many different programs for our residents to enjoy. Whether it be Exercise such as; Drummercise and low impact exercises, crafts such as headbands, painting, planting, we also have Bingo and we have large family events every month. Our residents go on a variety of trips that are based on their interests.

Accepted Answer

We offer 24 hour staffing seven days a week that are fully trained in all medical and clinical aspects. We also offer monthly learning programs for staff members that keep them learning and growing with the needs of our residents. We also offer therapy and programs specific to different needs based on the residents physical and mental abilities that help them to live the most optimum and healthy life for as long as possible.

Accepted Answer

We are a fully secured community. All of our doors can only be accessible with a code that is private and secure to associates only. Residents may leave and return to the community as they choose but must be signed out and back in with a loved one or friend. Our community is also constructed in a square format- this helps residents who wander and enjoy walking the halls avoid getting lost or running into a dead end. So in essence if they continue to follow the natural flow of the halls they will always run back into a place where there is assistance.

We staff to acuity instead of number of residents to ensure we always have the appropriate number of associates to safely care for each of our resident’s needs.

The average age of our residents at  Oxford Springs Weatherford is 85. They love to play games such as dominoes and checkers. They love to go see the plays at Southwest Playhouse in Clinton, they go see the lights at Christmas, and the fireworks for the 4th of July, and they are always open to new ideas and places to try.

At Oxford Springs of Weatherford, we consider preference when keeping them updated on their loved ones. It is our goal to keep family updated as per their wishes. Our Executive Director, keeps all families in the loop with updates by sending out emails at the earliest instance that families are needed to be notified. We also have an open door and communication policy with all families that they can reach out to our nurse, ED, or any staff member at any time with any updates or concerns that they might have at any time.

Our associates participate in monthly Learning Modules that are specific to the needs of our community and level of care that our residents need. We also have a monthly in-service meeting that allows for staff to get educational opportunities as requested upon by administration.

We are a pet friendly community. Animals can stay in resident rooms, and enjoy outdoor space in our courtyard found in the center of the community that is accessible to all residents at any time (granted that staff is aware).

The Pioneer Senior Center is within walking distance of Oxford Springs of Weatherford. Our residents and other area seniors enjoy daily games, puzzles, exercise classes and more.

We provide transportation for our residents to and from appointments as needed within the city limits of Weatherford.

Our Dining Services Coordinator has been with us for more than 11 years. She does a great job at ensuring meals are catered to our residents’ likes and dislikes within the best of her ability. They have a menu posted in the dining room, and offer an “always available” menu that our residents can order from if they would like something different.
