I visited this facility

I chose Holiday Tallgrass Estates for myself. They have some work to do on the apartment, and then I'll be moving in. Everybody was very friendly. Everything was clean. I have plenty of information to be able to make my decision. The apartment was equipped for what I needed. They showed me the library, the movie room, the church, the salon, and the physical therapy areas. I was very satisfied with that.

Holiday Tallgrass Estates was a very nice and elegant facility. There are a lot of activities to do. They had a large and very nice dining room. They gave us lunch and their food was good. There were two choices. When they serve their meals, they serve it as if you're in a restaurant. They bring food to your table by a waiter, not like a cart. So, there's a personal touch to it as to how they treat their residents. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and very caring. I think it's a very nice place. I would recommend it. Their apartments were reasonably priced. They only have independent living but they have the option to get assistance. You would contract with another company to administer meds and do a 24-hour check on an individual if they needed additional care. Other services can be a separate contract but through them. They will give my husband a device that he'll hang on his neck, an alert button with GPS tracking. So, if he gets in trouble, he can push the alert and it will track where he's at and they can send help. There's a lot of activities to do as well,

We toured Holiday Tallgrass Estates. It was nice. We liked it, but we're not ready to make a choice yet. The staff were nice and friendly. We saw a 2-bedroom apartment and it was very clean. There was one group exercise and that was all we noticed. They had a barber shop, a beauty shop, a computer room, and an activity or exercise room.

I loved Tallgrass Estates. I would go there in a heartbeat. It was nice. They sent us a meal and it was great. The people were super. The lady during the tour was great, very, very friendly, and outgoing. The rooms were very nice. Everything was first class. The dining area was beautiful and everyone seemed to enjoy it. We saw a library and an exercise room.

Tallgrass Estates does not smell like a nursing home or like an old people's home. It's very welcoming and clean. The residents were active, and the employees were interacting with the residents. They gave me a choice of three different apartments that were available. I know that does not happen all the time, but Tonya was very much helpful in all that. The director met us at the door, and you can tell they were taking great precautions for COVID. My favorite thing was when the CEO gave me a call yesterday -- on Sunday -- to welcome me and see if I had any questions, and to help make the transition easy. You just usually don't get those follow up calls from those companies, especially on a Sunday, and to me, that was a very personable call. They have onsite home health, too. If my mom needs help with anything, they're just there. The other thing I really liked about it is that it's almost like a la carte. You are not paying for services that you don't need, and that is why it's so great for us and for my mom financially. My mom doesn't need help with laundry, so they don't charge her for that. They had menus where there's two or three items to pick from, depending on what she wants, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's one price for all. She gets three meals a day, whether she eats them or not, which is really nice. They have a chef who has been there for fifteen years. I was there around lunchtime, and the presentation of their food was beautiful. It looked great. The size of the apartment was nice. It's not huge, but it's big enough for her. The apartment she is going to will be completely redone. I think somebody probably lived there for a while, so she's getting brand-new carpet, brand-new paint, and everything when she walks in. Everyone has either an individual balcony or an individual covered patio, so she has a green space out back, which is nice. They have a beauty shop where she can come and go as she pleases. They have two different activities every day: one in the midmorning and one in the afternoon, either in groups or they can do it individually if they want. They have a pool table for those who want to play, they have a room for crafts, and they have a group area if people want to do the big games for everybody and socialize with each other. They also have get-togethers a couple of times a month, like a special gathering in the evening. They also had a service that takes them downtown or to Walmart a couple of times a week. Of all the places that were sent to me, Tallgrass Estates was the best price. It was not only affordable, but you are getting a nice place, nice grounds, and a place that looks like an apartment, instead of looking like an assisted living facility. They are still giving seniors such an individuality to let them be independent.

So far, with everything at Tallgrass Estates that we've come across, it's an ideal place and we're really pleased. I'm not there all the time to check everybody out, but so far we're pleased with the staff. They're bringing their food to the room, they're not allowing anybody to go to the dining area, but my mom is well pleased. She said that the food is really good.

I'd like to thank the meal staff for being so sweet to my Mother. Another employee who cares and goes out of her way for the residents is Julie M. She is a treasure! She's the kind of person you pray will be around your elderly loved ones. Thank you to all.

Tallgrass Estates was wonderful and it's a very nice place. The dining area was very nice and almost like a restaurant. The apartments were very spacious for a 1-room or 2-room little place. The staff seemed very nice.

We liked Tallgrass because it is independent living, and we're still able to take care of ourselves. We liked the rooms, because we can have two bedrooms. If we need medical help, we can get it. We saw the dining area, and we liked it. The staff was very polite, very informative, and was nice enough to show us around.

Provider Response

I liked Tallgrass Estates. The disadvantages were the distance to medical care. But everything was clean, the staff really welcomed me, and their interaction with the clientele was fantastic. They have a large dining area, and the tables were more set up for 4. Everything has a tablecloth and cloth napkins. The service and everything was really nice, so even though it was large you felt like it was a place you would want to sit. People came up and asked me if I would join in at their table, so that made it even more welcoming, and the food was excellent. They have a large lobby area with a piano, and it is available for you to play. They have an exercise room, a beauty salon, a nice library, and a chapel.

Tallgrass Estates seemed a little smaller. We didn’t see a two-bedroom apartment. They had one-bedroom, one-bath and two-bedroom, two-baths apartments. We have been invited up there to check out one of their cottages, but we haven’t had the time. The staff was good. Their dining room was really nice. It was pretty good. Nothing seemed wrong with it.

We visited Tallgrass Estates. It’s very beautiful and quiet. My loved one really likes the management. Tallgrass Estates seems to be perfect for her. The food is great. She is well fed. They take care of her. There are several places that are within walking distance that she can walk to. She really likes it. There are lots of activities that go on. She knits and crochets, and there’s a group that does that. They have bingo, they play card games, and there’s a library. The dining room is spacious and well-lit. Their waiters and waitresses are really awesome. I’ve eaten with her several times. They’re really well-trained and very friendly. She has a studio room, and it fits all that she needs. They allow her to have her dog. She’s really comfy. They keep the room clean. They have people that come in and clean once a week. They do the towels and the bedsheets. They have a laundry room where she does all of her personal laundry. It is really nice.

Dad likes Tallgrass Estates. I've eaten there with my dad, and the food was very good. He says he gets tired of it because he's having similar food all the time, but whenever we eat together, he finishes all his food. Dad is really doing well there and does a lot of things. They have a good library, so he reads a lot. They have Wi-Fi, so he gets on his computer to keep busy. The staff was really friendly and good. They greet you and know my dad and tells me how he is and everything. They know their residents, including their likes and dislikes.

Tallgrass Estates was very good. We were very impressed. The lady who showed us around and gave us a good tour shared everything with us, and we were very pleased. I wouldn’t know if it would be available when we were ready, but the room we saw was on the ground floor, and our car could even be parked outside. We were impressed with the two-bedroom facility. The dining area was very nice and very homey, and we ate there once. The people were very friendly.

My tour at Tallgrass Estates was excellent. It was fine. The only drawback for others might be is that they only have one elevator, and it is quite a large facility. They have several apartments. They were really apartments with kitchenettes. It was excellent. They have good staff. They have lots of activities and they have lots of places to walk. Once my parents come of age, it might be a nice option. I think their mid-range there is about 75 to 80. The general managers were just very well integrated into the lives of those who live there. It just felt more like a family. The residents were all very involved and happy. People were up and about. This was a very great facility but my parents were just not quite ready for it. They had a media room where they can watch recent movies. Once a week, they had a big Fourth of July-fest type of weekend, so there were all kinds of activities going on. They have like exercise throughout the day. We walked by one of the activity rooms and there was a puzzle that everybody was working on. They have books and a library. It was a really nice facility. The room sizes were perfect. They had several different layouts. They had a lot to offer.
