My mom is a resident of St. Luke Lutheran Community - North Canton. It's right where my sister and I can be readily available. The rooms for the assisted living side are nice, modern, and clean. They've got everything that anybody would want. The people working there, so far, are very friendly and knowledgeable. My mom is quite pleased with the meals. She has participated in activities, and they've got a lot on the schedule. They have bingo, karaoke, and a chapel.

My husband is at St. Luke Lutheran Community. It's a nursing home. He's a long-term care. It's very nice, and the people are nice. They answer our questions, and he's very content to be there. He orders his food himself. Right now, he's in quarantine. The amenities were very good. They have a beauty shop and a cafeteria. He's got his recliner, a bed dresser with four drawers, a TV, and his private bathroom in his room. The staff members have been very good. The insurance is paying for it. We're very happy with it. We've looked at other places, and this is probably the best one he needs to be at.

The system is very much outdated and the temperature Is horribly hot for older persons. Every winter the tempature is set up too high and produces an uncomfortable miserable conditions. If I was State Ohio I'd make you fix it or family can file lawsuit against the poor church folk own home. Thank you.

3 months ago we put my mother into nursing care at Saint Luke's. Mom had no dementia, she was 100% mentally alert. Physically, she needed help moving. After 1 week, we discovered she hadn't had her teeth brushed or her partial plate removed in that one week. She would call my sisters who lived nearby to say she had to use the bathroom, and no one is responding to her calls. She was forgotten in the lunch room one day in her wheel chair - no one saw that she needed to be taken back to her room. She was treated as a nothing - as a person of no value and she felt it. It stripped her of her dignity. After this first horrible week, we made arrangements to have her moved to another Home, and there she got her needs met and was treated like a valuable human being.

I like the people, the cleanliness, and openness of Saint Luke Lutheran Home. I couldn't find anything wrong, and it's really upbeat. They had little things set up in the hallways for them to fidget with if they needed to fidget with something, and it was circular, so they can go around and keep going and going. I like the people's response to the people they were taking care of when I was walking through, and I like that they can go outside and still be safe. You could get all three meals, and they have a doctor on staff. The staff is very good, accommodating, nice, and took a nice time with us.

I just moved my sister in law yesterday at St. Luke, and they provide all the services we needed. They offer a lot of activities in house. They a full therapy on site, doctors that come on site, and they take care all the prescriptions to make sure her meds are always on a hand. They have three chefs there, and they treat them like they are in a restaurant. They sit down, order what they want on the menu, and are given an option of 4 entrees every dinner time. Actually, she moved in to what they called Dogwood Commons -- which is the assisted living part of it -- and they’re all brand new. The room she is in, she is the first one to stay there. The maintenance guys were helpful; they helped us move stuff in. They were right there to hook up the phone and the cable. The nursing staff was there right away to check on her and see if she needed anything. They have been wonderful.
