The Wellington at Dayton was definitely one that we would consider because of space, the general feel of the community, and having the things that we wanted. It seemed to be an excellent facility. It was very impressive. It just wasn't the right fit for us. There were so many things that they provided, and for the amount of money that they were doing it, it was above average. They had a restaurant and they provided transportation. They had a parking lot. You don't have a garage if you were in the apartments, but if you were in the housing, you had a garage, and we definitely wanted to have a garage. If you were in the apartments they provided housekeeping, and you could just set up your trash outside your door and they would take the trash, and every evening they would just disappear. I liked that they had a lot of patios and that all the utilities and cable were provided, but the big thing is that they have assisted living, memory care, and independent housing. They would also allow a pet, and my husband might want a dog if we don't travel anymore. So, we would just get a little lap dog. They had a pet fee. They had a lot of entertainment like card games, bingo, and Wii bowling. They had rosary, communion, and bible study. They have exercise rooms and a social hour. My husband liked that one. It was a very nice facility. The staff seemed to work together very well.

I liked The Wellington at Dayton just fine. I'm not planning on moving for a year. The other thing is there were no vacancies. The building was very clean. The grounds were very clean. The interior corridors were nice. Everything was very nice. The management was pretty nice. The staff was very nice. I ate chicken wraps there.

I toured The Wellington at Dayton. I saw a two-bedroom independent living, and I saw a one-bedroom assisted living. They have several options, which I thought were positive in independent living. I thought that was good. They have two options for assisted living, too. I thought the facilities were good. I saw everything. They had game rooms, chapels, dining areas, sitting areas, and exercise facilities. They gave me a very nice tour. I saw people out in the lobby, and I saw some people coming off the elevator. They gave me a list of their activities. They gave me menus and activities; they gave me a list of everything. One of the things that I thought was positive is if you're independent living, they have onsite home health care. If you need to be in independent living and you want to stay in independent living, they provide the home health care that I could use with my long-term care plan. I thought that they did a nice job of going over everything and were knowledgeable about how the long-term care plan worked. I like their model. They have independent living, assisted living, and memory care, and they have home health care, which I thought was positive.

I am a resident of The Wellington at Dayton. I like the variety of opportunities to meet new people and new friends. The meals are great. They have one of the best chefs, he's from New Orleans, and is very creative. The meals are not boring or tiresome, it's very good. They provide weekly cleaning of your apartment. You also have 24-hour emergency services available. They have a great medical staff that provides care. They will do your medications at just a minor charge. They watch after each of us with a lot of caring. They have a very good maintenance program, try to keep everything up to date, and have instituted numerous projects.

I toured The Wellington at Dayton. The staff was very friendly, professional, courteous, very nice, and willing to answer questions. I saw very nicely decorated clean common areas. I saw a multipurpose room and I saw another room that was geared more toward crafting, playing cards, or some cooking activity.

The Wellington at Dayton was a very large place. When we first went in, the receiving area was nice and clean. There wasn't any problem there. They had activities. They do bingo, they have a card night, game night, and people that come in playing music. We chose not to take the room, because it overlooked the roof of all the air conditioning units and everything. It didn't have a view at all. The lady who took us through was very nice. She explained everything to us and showed us all the places like the dining room, the game room, and different things. They also had a beauty parlor for the seniors. The facility was clean. We just didn't particularly like the layout, but it's nice. It's just not our preference.
