My cousin moved to the memory care at Laurelwood Senior Living. The sales manager there is kind. She likes the place and they had some sales points to it. We have family members that live closer to it and it's closer to where we shop. So, they have no excuse for not going to visit. The layout is nice and the building is nice. The fact that she has her own room and bathroom is just excellent. Every time I've visited, they've been nothing but nice. The meals smelled nice. It made me want to eat there and it seemed like they had something going on every time I was there. I've come and they've been sitting in a circle watching TV. There were still staff interacting with them. So, I give them credit for that. They also have karaoke, Bible study, and somebody who came from outside to do music. The residents were keyed up about going down to listen to the guy who was playing music. Then they had physical activity in the morning. They took them out to sit in the courtyard and that was one of the things that I liked. On Day 2, there was just a misunderstanding, and we're already working on that. The previous nursing home did not send medication with my cousin and she was upset that they didn't send enough medication with her. She does not have her Medicare or Medicaid so they were like "If we don't get enough medication for her, we're going to have to send her to the hospital or send her home." and I didn't appreciate that. So the sales manager said "Can you find her some medication? Maybe she left it at home when she left." Her aide had saved some medication of hers and that's what saved us.

I've been living in Laurelwood Senior Living. It seems very nice here. The people have been very nice and very friendly. They made me feel welcome, and I don't have any qualms about it. The staff has been very nice. My apartment was all redone when I moved in. It has new wood flooring. I love the paint, it's winter white gray. I'm really pleased with my room. They have church services every Sunday. They play bingo several days a week and they play finding words within words. I went to what they call a music house where a musician came in and played an organ and his drums and sang. He got the crowd in with what he was performing. It was really interesting. The meals have been just gigantic. They're fantastic.

Beautiful facility, the cleanest I have ever been in before and not just occasionally every time we go visit it is clean! ALL of the staff are friendly and the love and joy they share with the residents is touching. All the residents seem happy and pleased with their living situation. I would move a family member in a heartbeat if I had a need!

Laurelwood Senior Living looked really nice on the outside. As we toured the place, it was clean. The rooms were very nice for the seniors. We looked at a couple of them where people were already in, and they decorated their own room and everything, and it was real nice. The person that toured us around answered all of our questions. She showed us where everything was and in all the activities they have for the seniors. They have a game night, a bus that will take you to the grocery if you need to go, and a beauty salon (which my mother-in-law really wanted to have).

Laurelwood Senior Living looked like a pretty nice place. It was clean and they had lots of things to do for the people. They have a monthly schedule of the different stuff they do. The lady who toured me around was very nice and very knowledgeable. The studio seemed a little bit small and I think the biggest room just had one small window. It would have been nicer to have a bigger window. I saw the dining area and quite a few people were eating.

Laurelwood Senior Living was a nice community. It was larger than the first one I had experienced. It was clean. I wasn't as happy with the rooms because they didn't have kitchenettes or a closet. They offer furniture like an armoire, a dresser, and nightstand in place of a closet. You can bring your own cart in with the coffee pots and things like that. The food menu was very nice, and there were choices. It wasn't like every week they'd have similar food. I liked that about it. They had a nice activity area. The staff was helpful and answered my questions. It was a good experience. They had a calendar of their activities that they offer each month. They had live music that comes in an movie night. They also have an ice cream social, where the residents can come in and put all their favorite toppings on their ice cream. I wasn't real happy with the room that she would be staying in though. It didn't have a little kitchenette or anything. We would bring our own microwave, our own refrigerator, and those kinds of things. There was not even a closet. I didn't like that about it. That's just the one that the staff showed me. He said they have a two-bedroom place that's bigger, but we don't need that (so he didn't show that to us). There were three stories. The staff during the tour was the cook. He's only been in this position for months, so he didn't really offer me a material package. He offered me one sheet of paper. He's new at this job. It's nice because they bring the food to the residents. They sit down like you would at a restaurant. They ask them what they want to drink. Then they look at the menu, and they tell them what they want from the menu. I was very impressed with the food selection there.
