We put my husband in a home called Meadowbrook Care Center. It's a memory care and a clinical care place. So far, it seems like he's getting excellent care as far as that goes. I talked to the nurses when we left, and they said they would keep an eye on him. He was a little agitated this morning when he woke up because he was in a new place and he didn't know exactly where he was. His sister got over there about 10:00 and she says after she was there for about half an hour, he calmed down. They said he didn't eat that much for breakfast, but for his lunch, he ate it all. The building is probably about 40 years old, but the rehab part where he's in is about two years old. It's very clean and the rooms are very large. He has a small round table, a bed, an armoire, a dresser, and a chair. If he wanted anything else, he could put it in and there's a TV up on the wall. The staff seemed to be quite well, because when we were there, they came in two or three times to check on him, make sure we had enough water, and that he ate his lunch and they took his lunch out after he had finished. It's only been a day, so I hope it keeps going that way. They were very caring and wanted to help and offered anything that we needed and anything that he needed to make him comfortable while he was there. They had egg salad, some potato chips, some tomatoes, and some ambrosia, and he ate all of it, which I was surprised about. I've only gone down two halls. It was very clean, and it didn't have any odors to it or anything like that. The patients that were walking around were well cared for and dressed. Some of them were in wheelchairs, but they were getting around fairly well. I'm hoping that he'll get the care that he needs. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it's about ten miles from the house.

I wish I could have known Meadowbrook was going to be sold to a corporation during a pandemic! The care has went downhill and meetings with management has brought no results!

The worst thing is they're very short-staffed. When we press the call light it takes forever to be answered. The best is the staff that DO work here. They're very kind and caring. But they are sorely overworked! We also have no spiritual guidance whatsoever. We had a wonderful woman who used to go to different rooms to minister to those people who are immobile, but they let her go. 🤬

When our Resident was moved to Meadowbrook she was in poor condition and under Hospice care. Within a year Hospice was no longer needed that was 3 years ago. You need to give the staff a heads up if you want to do something special with a resident you can not show up and expect them to drop everything for your special request. Treat the staff the same way you want your resident to be treated with kindness and patience. If you are a frequent visitor you might want to take a folding chair or 2 to leave in the room for your visits mark the chairs with the residents Name on them and put them out of the way when you leave. If you make a mess with snacks or food clean it up before you leave. We are very Happy with the care our resident is receiving with Covid going on we feel she is in the best of hands. The staff goes above and beyond in their care for her. We are so Thankful for the Caregivers - Cooks - Laundry people and Housekeeping. We also Appreciate the people of faith who visit our resident, prayers are important.

What a horrible experience. 4 days after moving to this facility my mother in law contracted Covid. The staff was very secretive about origins of the Covid, but we discovered by speaking with staff that 3 employees has tested positive. Everything about the care in this facility was below expectations. Leaving a patient to languish in bed all day or, when placed in a chair, left there for 6-8 hours. Call lights would go unanswered for hours. The staff was deceitful about what care was given with one team member often contradicting another as to what basic care had actually been provided. The management staff frequently attempted to convince the patient that they wanted her to stay long term in spite of the fact we announced she would be moving. I would never place another person in the care of this terrible place

I was a resident at Meadowbrook and never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever get to go back home to my daughter's home in Georgia but I did. I had a stroke, lung cancer and had just recovered from abdominal surgery. The staff and Therapy team never gave up on me and sure enough they got me home for Christmas. I have been in other Skilled Nursing Facilities and none compared to the kindness and compassion of Meadowbrook.
