Memory Care Reviews for Arden Courts of Anderson Twp.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Arden Courts has been excellent all the way around, so far. I am not saying anything will go wrong, but my mother-in-law hasn’t been there a really long time yet, and from what we have experienced so far, everything is just really good. The rooms aren’t really big, but it’s OK. At first, she thought they were awfully small and a little too confining. I personally think they are a good size for one person to be in. There is much less of a chance of misplacing items if you’re in a smaller space, and I think she’s grown to accept it now. She went from living in a big house -- a ranch-style house in Columbus, OH -- to downsizing a lot. So, you have to imagine it would take some getting used to; plus, her spouse is now gone, so there have been a lot of changes for her. The residents can bring what they want to bring in for the room. We did not bring her bed in; we use the bed that was there, but she has pictures of her grandchildren and her family in there, and it is lightly decorated because she hasn’t really been there that long. We plan on doing more things, but there is room enough for a TV, a chair, a bed, a nightstand, and a dresser, and there’s a bathroom that’s right in the bedroom as well, so she has access. The dining room is right down the hall, no more than 20 steps away. Anything she wants is very nearby, so I think it’s an ideal setup for a person such as her. They have a lot of activities that focus on brainwork, which is really excellent, because my mother-in-law needs that because of her Alzheimer’s. They also have various events that are going on; for instance, they have movies on the weekend, and they’re having an event this coming weekend where they are going to give out candy to trick or treaters. They’ve had sing-alongs, and there's something going on all the time

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Arden Courts of Anderson is strictly an Alzheimer's unit, and that's what I wanted for my father-in-law. We chose this facility because we just felt like it was a good fit for him because he has Alzheimer's, they can keep him there until end of life, and it was more like a home-setting. The room is very clean. The room is equipped with a bed, a dresser, a chair, and a half bath. Then they provide all the lines and towels. He has a closet for his stuff. The dining room is more like a home. The home is divided into quadrants, and each quadrant has their own dining room and living room. The dining room is not really formal; it seems more like a kitchen. They have a lot of activities. I didn't get to observe anym but it is all centered around for people with Alzheimer's, so they do try to get my father-in-law involved. I am happy with everything. I don't have any issues. They were very extremely helpful. We were kind of in a hurry to find a location, and there was going to be a waiting list. They contacted the other people on the waiting list. Truthfully, he got in the day after I visited, so they did everything to help facilitate that.

Arden Courts was a good place for my mother to live. It was a good environment -- very nice and clean. The staff and the services were good. If I’d ask them something, they would tell me. They were very caring toward the patients. The rooms looked fine, and the menu looked good to me.

I visited this facility

Arden Courts was the next facility near to my house. The staff was very nice. The room was satisfactory. However, I ruled it out because I didn't like fact that the food was brought in. To me it would be like meals on wheels. If they could prepare the food fresh daily in the facility, I thought that would be a plus. However, they didn't have a kitchen adequate to do that. I also didn't think it was quite as clean as the one where my husband was in. They had activities and they were doing arts and crafts when I was there.
