The nicest thing about living in Homestead Hills is its people. Just about everyone gets along well. We have lived here for over two years. We are finding, though, that it is evolving, sometimes not for the best. The staff is good, but there are constant changes so continuity is not good. We live in a cottage, livable, but it does not get the problems rectified as quickly or necessary maintenance . Leaves clog the gutters, outside windows and house not washed, air ducts and dryer ducts not cleaned. Gas fireplace dirtying the inside walls, ceiling and windows with unhealthy soot. There are constant complaints among the residents of slow food service and food in the Main Dining Room. Many times there are long waiting times to get into the dining room, even after having a reservation, and then getting food service at the table. They try, but two years here has shown little improvement. The costs are continuing to rise. There is inflation, but recent menu prices for us arose dramatically. The four salads on the menu went up 75% to 233%, flatbread 32% to $21 for a piece of flatbread! This is a for-profit company that claims they do not profit from our food, but the prices they say they are paying to their wholesalers, $12-14 per pound for chicken and 96 cents apiece for shrimp, is factored into the meal prices we pay. I can buy these much cheaper at a local market. Most of the people here are too old or have infirmities to move or dine out for better meals. They have no other choice but to be here and dine here. So the Company does not have many problems in charging them more and more to increase their profits or not spend to rectify residential problems. Another recent situation about profit instead of caring and providing for its residents, arose for New Year's Eve. At the last moment they decided not to provide dinner and music, but opted for the cheapest way out and do an early brunch and abandon its residents to fend for themselves instead of paying extra to have the evening service. I always felt that if you plan to move somewhere, the first priority is to talk to the current residents. Their website and brochures may not give you the full or best picture.

I went and looked at Homestead Hills, and all the employees were extremely nice and very supportive. They were very caring, attentive, and answered all questions. The facility was very clean. They were extremely helpful, and they even followed up.

Homestead Hills was spectacular. It was so well maintained and everything was beautiful. Someone will come every day just to tidyup and to help. We have a friend who's there and she just loves it. They're all in one part of the complex and they have a way to get to the cafeteria where you don't have to go outside. They have a couple of different apartment sizes and they were beautiful. The dining area was very, very nice. They serve three meals a day and the menus looked wonderful. It's one of the best facilities we saw. The first impression I had was that they are like a family. People are happy and the staff likes their job. They're a good team and they're committed to the residents. They have a saltwater pool, a separate exercise facility, and several multipurpose rooms where you can have a family get-together and have food in there. So, there are a lot of ways that you can connect with family, even if you live there.

Independent living at Homestead Hills gives its residents a choice of daily on campus activities and a variety of off campus activities. Homestead Hills is a very friendly and vibrant community. The secure 37 acre campus provides all to enjoy the bounty that nature provides - trees, birds, flowers and the inspirational sunrise and setting of the sun. The Cottages and Villa Apartments are well appointed.

I toured Homestead Hills. It's lovely, there are lots of people there that you can talk to and become friends with. They have a staff that's well equipped to handle their patients. My mother got the last room in assisted living that just happened to be open. Their activities are outstanding. The food is excellent. The rooms were very nice. So she'll have a larger room than she has now. They have quite a few sitting rooms, activity rooms, exercise rooms, a large lobby, and a patio up front where they can sit or walk or whatever. She will move there within a week.

People First, Always. We approach our business with a People Over Policy mindset. This allows our team members to make the decision at any given time which puts the Members we serve first. In addition, we believe in an empowered workforce. Our product is only as good as the hands that deliver it. That’s why we extend our People First principle to those we’re working alongside.
We Exist to Serve Our Members. If we lose sight of the individuals that we’ve built our company to serve and care for, then we don’t deserve to be in business. This is why we stress our mission on a daily basis to everyone from our front-line caregivers to our home office executives.
