Brookdale Wake Forest had better outdoor space than the other place I visited. The interior was more open, and not much difference in the floor plans of other places. The staff made us feel welcome. They were knowledgeable, informative, helpful, and understanding. They were very professional, very personable, not judgmental, and helpful. When you're doing something like that, being helpful is more important than just about anything else. They are pet friendly. They had 1- and 2-bedroom apartments. They provide 2 meals a day. There's an efficiency, kitchen-type thing. If you want to do your own breakfast, you can do that. However, if you want dinner or something like that, it's better to have that on the meal plan, I think. I like the location, the yard space, and the floor plans. The whole thing was good.

Glenda was the worst staff member I have ever interacted with while visiting my grandmother at Brookdale. Her attitude was rude and dismissive while I was trying to ask a simple question about my grandmothers medication. She ultimately could not answer the question and blew me off saying she would be right back and then never came back. Thankfully there were other staff members there that were happy to help me and my grandmother but I must say I am dissatisfied with the service I received from this “Glenda”. 1 star

My mom was there for almost a year in memory care. The turn over of employees is horrible. The first three months was fine. The nurse there really cared about her residents. My mom was sick they contacted DMHC and the PA said she was fine. However the nurse disagreed and sent her to the hospital. She had COVID. So many bad experiences no more needs to be said.

I went to Brookdale Wake Forest. The girl there who I talked with was very helpful and nice. She showed me around and took her time with me. She did a good job. When I went, they were having some type of exercise. The person had the residents engaged, and she seemed to be good walking with them. They seemed to be enjoying it and enjoying her. It was early in the morning, so it was in between breakfast and lunch. It was a one-story, which I liked. It looked clean. It had some places that felt kind of open like their activity room. She answered my questions. The marketing lady was pleasant and helpful.

Brookdale Wake Forest was nice, it was my number two choice. It was nicer, as far as a newer, cleaner, just overall appearance of it, and also a little bit more expensive and farther away for me, location-wise, which is the reason it wasn't number one, but it was nice. The apartments were very nice. It was very clean, very new looking, updated, and very well organized and clean. They have a really nice courtyard in between, in the middle of the buildings and they have chickens there, chicken coop. That was a nice, pet therapy kind of thing.

We moved Mom here in Nov. 2018 from out of town and couldn't be more pleased! Mom is in the Clare Bridge Memory Care unit. Ahana assisted with the tour and transition and she made sure Mom had all her documents done correctly and even called the previous facility on several occasions for us to get the needed information. She is a rock star. All of the staff is wonderful and they know the families. It's a smaller set up which is perfect for dementia patients. Shiloh (the Activities Director) is awesome. You know she loves the elderly residents and it shows. She meets with the residents each morning in the living room to talk about current events or topics that the residents want to discuss. She's always smiling and engaging. You can tell that she loves her job as she is always planning outings...Krispy Kreme, local restaurants etc. to hamburgers cooked on the grill outside and lunch out on the patio. The holidays are another excuse to have fun, parties and celebrations and dinners too. Mom has absolutely thrived here!
