Elmcroft of Salisbury

We liked Elmcroft of Salisbury Assisted Living, and my mother-in-law does too. Her room is very nice, the staff is excellent, beyond anything I've seen, and they're good to her. The dining room is beautiful, clean, and very elegant. The price is worth it.

My mother is in Carillon. The rooms are very nice. The people are very nice and polite. The food is excellent. They have a dining room where you can have parties and a kitchen where you can go and cook. They have a nice, little sitting room and activities, like bingo, cards, and crossword puzzles.

The experience at Carillon Assisted Living has been great. They have taken great care of my mom, and I feel very confident in their ability. The site itself is beautiful. It is well kept. We have very good experience so far. I like the hominess there. The food is very good; that’s what my mom has said about every meal that she has had there. It has been very good. I absolutely recommend this community. She has been there about 3 weeks now.

I found a place I’m very happy with in Salisbury -- Carillon -- and that’s where we placed my friend. It’s excellent. The thing that I think impressed me more than anything is that they seem happier to have her than I was to find a place. They have been very accommodating and thrilled to have her there. The facilities are very clean and very pretty. It is just an excellent place. They have a minimum of 6 activities a day. They keep them very busy. The dining area is very nice. It is like a nice posh restaurant.

My visit at Carillon Assisted Living was very good. They were smaller, but they had very nice little rooms. They have nice areas outside to walk around. The people there were very helpful and sweet. It was more homey-like. They had fireplace in a couple of their living rooms. They have a private room where you could have private dinner with your family. They allow small pets, depending on how small the animal is, with the consent of your roommate, if you have a roommate. They have a hair salon, Bible studies. They help with the doctor's visits by bringing you there, and they will make the appointments for you. They will keep track of the doctor's visits for you. They are not as high-end as the other facilities, but the place is very nice.

I would say that Carillon Assisted Living rate right there, along with the other facilities I have been to, as far as all of the amenities. It was very laid out, very much a home setting, very caring staff and they tried really hard to get my sister in there. But, because she can do a few too many things for herself at this time, she doesn’t qualify for total Medicaid assistance, and I have to wait till she does before I can place her. The staff was very nice -- they gave us a lot of information and just by the way they greeted all of the residents who live there, you could tell, they interacted and all of them knew everyone’s name. It was just a very caring group of people, and I’d love to get my sister in there. They invited us to have a meal but if I were to take her over there for lunch, she would panic and think that she will go now, because she has done that already. They were very neat and clean and caring. There was just nothing negative there, except for the fact that they told her that she could bring her dogs, which I think that was stupid, because her dogs are not healthy, so the dogs are not going to be able go. This is going to be one thing I am going to have to yank away from her. I would recommend this facility just because several of our friends' mothers are very happy there.
