I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Mom was a feisty difficult elderly person with failing health unable to walk or care for herself. I did not expect miracles in a nursing home but felt she got them at Quale Haven. I slept good at night knowing they are highly selected professionals in their field that excel at what they do. I appearance, it may not seem world class at first glance but when I examined the care provided, it just might be. Doctor and nursing care is very responsive and knowledgeable. Building care and maintenance is clean and fresh smelling. Administrative staff is up to date on the ocean of legal changes and care billing guidelines. Staff all interact and communicate well. I felt mom received the best of care. If you want swanky, keep looking. If you want great care you can trust, look no further. I feel blessed.

Very short staffed. Lots of covid, which I got there, poor food, and not good.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

On the surface this place seems very nice. However, I have heard residents talk of rude caregivers, several caregivers are quite unfriendly some behave down right spiteful, reports of caregivers leaving residents unattended in the assisted living home to go to the house across the street to "catch up on the gossip" anything could have happened in her absence, you would not leave toddlers alone in to fend for themselves, they also spend a lot of time on their personal cell phones. One resident had fallen from her bed and a visitor discovered this (where was the caregiver?) Very little interaction with the residents in my persons house there is room for 6 residents right now there are only 4. They don't check on the residents when they first come on duty and there are times when the caregivers have gotten verbally abusive to a resident. Concerns from family members seem to fall on deaf ears. If we as loved ones of the precious people don't say anything things won't change.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband was in Quail Haven for 10 months. They took reasonably good care of him and were very kind to him. The rooms were single-rooms, just the basic with 2 chairs, a bed, and a dresser. The grounds were very nice. They did not have adequate handicapped parking, but other than that it was OK. They had a lot of music concerts and games; they have something every day. It was very expensive.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My husband is in Quail Haven Retirement Village. My overall impression of it is very good. The care given is still very good. They have a physical therapy room but they don't have a gym. The facility is spectacularly clean. The furniture is homey-looking. It doesn't look like a facility. Each room has the same type of furniture. It looks like a bedroom at home, except for the bed.

I am a friend or relative of resident

This place is atrocious. Staff don't answer call buttons. My father was left to sit in his own feces. After he pressed the call button, a "nurse" entered his room, turned off the call button and said she'd be back with the bed pan. She never returned. When I asked a "nurse" about it, she got defensive and started yelling at me in the hall and refused to help clean my father up until I showed her "respect". At one point at least 5 staff members were yelling at me in the hallway. When the inefficient supervisor showed up, she demanded I go to her office which I refused since I wanted my father and brother to be witnesses. They refused to show me the paper copy of when they gave him his pain medications. The staff took off their name tags and refused to tell me or other family members what their names where. My sister-in-law overheard them gossiping when she arrived that they "forgot" to bring him the bed pan. Later, after we left, the hateful nurse went into my father's room and yelled at him. Apparently, staff anger at me insisting they not let my father sit in his own shit angered them and they "forgot" for two hours to give him anything to drink. This is a horrible, horrible place. Do NOT place your loved ones here.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

This facility was recommended by many including the Dr caring for the patient. He has been there almost 5 weeks recovering from abdominal surgery. He is 89 years old. His wife is my best friend and she cannot stop telling people about the care he has received. He will be coming home this weekend. Everything was what you would like for a loved one.
