What ongoing training does the staff receive in dementia care?
New orientation training upon hire as an asocociate. They must complete a week of Dementia specific training and have monthly inservices to continue with certifications
How many staffers are on duty in the daytime and overnight?
We are staffed to meet state regulations along with staffed to care for our residents individual needs.
What programs or activities does Brookdale Monroe Square offer to keep residents engaged? How does the staff engage residents' long-term memories?
We provide daily activites such as exercise, joy rides and walking. We do many crafts and encourage residents to thrive.
Who assesses residents' health and cognitive functioning? How often is that assessment repeated?
We have our Health & Wellness Director that completes an inital assessment. The care plan will be looked at and reviewed every couple months for changes and reviewed with the family with the HWD.
What techniques does Brookdale Monroe Square use to support memory care residents during mealtimes?
Our food is recognized with a fine dining experience. This includes linen tableclothes with napkins and dinerware. The resident enjoys light music during every meal.

Monroe Square memory care talks to families vis phone and email to keep them very informed of their loved ones needs while as a resident at our community. Family members are encouraged to speak to staff with any questions about their loved ones.

Monrow Square Memory Care is located in the medical district of Monroe. We are located across the street from Atrium Health Care formerly CMC Union.
