this place was horrible! someone in my family was there for approximately 3 weeks and they treated him as if he was a child. when he did not “perform well enough on his therapy” even though he would give it his all, they would make him sit in a chair in the room with no tv for an hour and a half!!! he is not able to sit up that long and feel okay he just had back surgery. this place is dirty and the workers act like children. i do NOT recommend this facility.

I have never had a worse experience then I have with this facility. The staff does not care for the patients at all they are just there for the pay check. Pretty much anything that was done for my grandmother while she was there was done by me. There is one nurse in particular I don't ever understand how she can call herself a nurse. I am absolutely appalled and will never use or recommend this facility to anyone in the future. Keep your loved ones safe and away from the "nurses" at this facility.

Never ever let any one tell you that the Brian Center is a good place for you loved one to be. They are the most incompetent bunch of jackasses I have ever seen. The facility is run down. The workers are there for a pay check and bitter. They don't access the patients medical issues nor follow instruction by doctor, nor family. I have witness them take 20 minutes to reach a patient when the call bell is pushed I have seen them use a cream on the bottom of a patient when instructed by the family on 5 occasions not to causing a 2 x 2 bedsore on the patients bottom. Abdominal pain dismissed by Dr and staff telling the patient and family it's was constapation when it was pancreatitis and a blocked liver and would have left her in pain. I.will make sure everyone knows this dump is bad. They packed her stuff up without letting the family know and gave her wheel chair to the rehab facility for other patients to use without our knowledge. AMAZING POS PLACE.

My mother was at Brain Center Redman Road she was taken care of by a great Cna who was helpful and very respectful,She also had a great team with her pyh physical therapy. I do recommend Brain Center to anyone who has a family member or loved one who needs care

The check in and on boarding process was awful. My medicine wasn't tracked and took forever for me to get once I arrived. Check out was awful too. The communication between administrators and staff seems very disconnected. I am honestly scared to return.

All they do is stay up at night laughing and texting on there phones. They don't answer there call lights! They make that bed your death bed. There are a bunch of incompetent idiots that work there. There the reason my grandma died! They just want your check. Every penny of it! I ain't bout that letting people suffer life! I care about people I wouldn't put there life in jeopardy. Don't go to the Brian Center!

My grandmother is in the Brian Center. She's been there since February of 2015. Within the year she's broken her arm and has fallen numerous times since the break, all while being a" FallRisk" resident. I hate ALL nursing facilities. Even the better ones fall short of compassion and professionalism when it comes to patients and their families. I am just a grandchild and don't have a say about my grandma's care. If you are in a position, please don't put your loved one in a nursing home. They ALL are notorious for neglect. As far as the Brian Center goes, with as many bad reviews as they have, I'm appalled at the fact that they are still in operation.

I broke my leg working in lynchburg va after a week in the hospital there it was decided to transport me back to charlotte nc and admit me into the brian center as i healed. This place was a total nightmare. Refusing to give me pain medication that had been oredered the i dont care attitude of the nurses the food not fit for a dog. I spilled a soda on the floor it took 36 hours to have it cleaned up. I arrived on a thursday decided by 2 am friday i could not stay in this place it took until monday to get insurance to agree to me going home and have home care. It wasnt until i started telling people i was leaving was the first time i saw a real doctor had my vitals checked. I was told i could have a private room if i stayed and my pain meds were changed to something that worked. there was not anyway i would stay in this filth. i watched cnas walk in rooms turn off the nurse call button and walk out with no care. I watched my roommate got 4 hours before he got his regular meds. Funnny note my remote for the tv would turn the channel his tv and mine at the same time. These guys were trading cigs for snacks and meds not taken with nurses watching and laughing. Please never put anyone you know in this place it is a nasty joke.

About three months ago, mom moved to Brian Center Health and Rehab. The staff were all excellent. The rooms were good. I have eaten there, and the food is excellent. They have different activities planned for the day like games, movies, or shopping.

My husband was sent to this facility for rehabilitation after having Trach surgery and placed on a ventilator (his Bi-pap for the trach since he has sleep apnea) at night. The Brian Center Reps came to see us in the hospital, they told us how they had full time respiratory therapist on staff 24/7. My husband told me they did not know what they were doing and I thought he was being a little paranoid. The 3rd or 4th night he was there I was still there at bedtime when the "nurse" came in to hook up his vent. She did not know how to connect the O2 to the vent, then she proceeded to inflate the cuff on his trach with his Passi Muir vale on. This STOPS you from breathing period!! She did not know what to do, I had to get her out of the way and remove the vale. Called 911 and got him out of there. Do not let your family or friends go to this place. He also got an awful UTI there, they never cleaned him.

I am/was a resident of this facility
I checked in for respitory rehab, stayed 12 days, the place was dirty, smelly, the staff was not friendly, and impossible to reach when you needed something. The food was greasy, starchy and skimpy. They took 4 days to get some of my meds, lost some and got some wrong. When I got double pneumonia there, they insisted my fiance call 911 to get an ambulance to the hospital. I wouldn't send a sick skunk there. I hated I stayed as long as I did, my insurance dictated where they would pay....what a rip off. Please don't send a loved one there if you have a choice. I would rate a - 10 if possible.

I did visit the Brian Center. My husband was there for about a month, and it wasn't good at all. They were not friendly, and they were not cooperative. It was smelly and dirty. They need to have some better housekeepers to keep the rooms clean, and they need to have nurses' assistants that are going to keep the patients clean.

Brian Center Nursing Care was a horrible place. I wouldn't have anybody go there not even somebody that I hated. But I chose it because it was attached to the assisted living facility that is run by the same people, and that place was nice. When I first went to Brian Center, nobody had the time to talk to me. The receptionist was very nice as well as the nurses, but they are under staffed.
The doctor from the hospital had requested tests done which they never forwarded to him. I am still calling them to try and get the results from the test. You can never speak to anybody because nobody answers the phone. However, the place was clean because they have people there that came in and clean.

Brian Center is the only place that would take my husband in. He suffers from depression and all kinds of physical problems. But he seems to be happy now. The staff is very helpful. They have very good meals. It's like a restaurant. They fix whatever he wants and he picks it out.

I visited the Brian Center for 6 years while my dad was there. I honestly think he would have died sooner if my sister had not gone to check on him everyday. The facility was dreary and depressing. Staff turnover was high and the quality of the staff members was questionable. I can not prove it, but I think the bookkeeping is suspect too. They were requiring all his social security and his pension on a monthly basis, so that left nothing for my mom to live on. My dad died in September 2012 and we were told that he had money left on his account, but no one will tell us how to get this money. Emails and phone calls are not returned. We could not afford to send him to a nicer place, so this is where the poor who are on medicare and medicaid end up. I would not recommend this Brian Center to anyone. At one point they had decent nurses and staffers, but in the last few years their qualilty of service has dropped drastically. STAY AWAY FROM THIS REHAB FACILITY!

My dad had a knee replacement and after 3 days in the hospital they sent him to the Brian Center to recover. My dad was there for one day when he called me and demanded that I come pick him up. When I got there I walked in the front door which was a large automatic sliding door. There was a lady in a wheel chair stuck in the middle of the door trying to leave the lobby. I pushed her back inside and was shocked no one was in the lobby or front desk. As i walked down the hall looking for someone I noticed dozens of people in wheels chairs just sitting by themselves. The hallways were dark with flickering light bulbs. I reached the nurses desk and they pointed me to my dads room. When I entered the room my dad was in an aggravated state and he asked who I was. After an hour of explaining who I was and trying to calm him down the nurse came in and said my dad was dehydrated and confused. As we were leaving I noticed the room was very dirty and even had mold in the closet. I didn't think things like this were still around especially in a well to do city like Charlotte. We left the Brian center and went straight to the emergency room where my dad spent a couple of days healing from dehydration and an infection in his knee. I honestly think if my dad would have stayed there his life would have been in danger.

I visited this facility
I visited this facility while assisting a client in locating a long term care facility. This facility is located in a convenient neighborhood of Charlotte but honestly, that's about all I can say that is really positive about it.
The facility is older and most rooms are shared. It felt very under staffed during our visit with many residents sitting in wheelchairs or laying in their bed, appearing to be bored and unattended to. I did not see any structured activities going on during the hour or so we were in the facility (earlier afternoon - before lunchtime). It appeared as if the facility was short on staff and the staff that were in the building just didn't seem to be doing a great job of attending to resident's needs.
We visited the dining hall during lunch and it was clean but also in need of some updating. I counted at least three residents that I really felt could have used some assistance with feeding but no staff were offering help to them. Again, it appeared the facility might have been short on staff which concerns me as far as resident's having their nutritional and safety needs met.
My client made a decision to find a different facility and pretty quickly crossed this one off of her list. I had to agree with her, and would not recommend this facility to others seeking long term or short term care.
