Assisted Living Reviews for Elmcroft of Asheboro

I visited this facility
Carillon Assisted Living of Asheboro would have been perfect, and their price was affordable. It was a really good place. We were very impressed with the staff. The director seemed to be so passionate about what she's doing, and I appreciated that. She directed all her conversations to my father-in-law who is hard of hearing, and she did it in such a respectful manner. When we walked away, he said that he liked that place. The programs that we saw seemed to be very good. The place did not smell, and it was very clean. Becki, the director, was just excellent and has so much passion for those she is serving. We looked at the rooms and all around the area, and it was all very nice. It seemed like a good situation.

I am a friend or relative of resident
Carillon of Asheboro is a top notch place. My mom is here and she has gotten better since moving in. The care, the kindness, mom's room, food and activities are wonderful. I love the fact mom has a sunny room, no dark caves here. I never have trouble finding staff to speak with. If I have had a concern it has been addressed quickly. Becky seems to run a tight ship. My guess is if you don't do your job, you are gone. My family enjoy family nights and other activities that we can come in and share some fun with our love ones. Pay a little more and get one of the best places around.

In my experience with my mother staying at Carrillon assisted living facility, the staff have been very kind and friendly with both my mother and myself. They seem to give a lot of attention to each person staying there. My mother has alzheimer's, and they have a separate part of the building for them which is designed with them in mind, it's a relatively small area so she isn't overwhelmed with a large space since she can't remember much. Part of the alzheimer's ward that I love is the dining area and lounge. They have a few dining tables that seat 4 people as to not overwhelm them, and they have at least 3 staff members going around helping those who are having trouble eating or refuse to eat. The lounge area is a very home like room that contains a piano, a TV, and a stereo. They usually put on shows that they would recognize to comfort them, when they don't have the TV on they play CD's of old time music. Overall I have virtually nothing to complain about, it's a wonderful place in which I can feel safe with my mother staying.

My grandmother moved into the Alzheimer's unit of Carillon Assisted Living earlier this year. My mother takes my brothers and I to see her every weekend even though she usually doesn't recognize us. The staff are very friendly and patient with the residents, and they have craft time and other activities to keep them entertained during the day. They have a nice area outside for people to go and sit or walk around and get some fresh air, but the area is pretty small. The residents all seem quite comfortable and like they are in good care, and they are all very fond of the staff. Most of them really enjoy having visitors as well, whether they know them or not. My grandmother would just sit in her house and watch TV or sleep all day when she lived on her own, but living there helps her interact with other people, get outside and get some exercise, and eat proper meals every day.

Friend or relative of resident
My mother currently lives in a suite in Carillon Assisted Living. She can mostly look after herself, but I feel more comfortable having her where there are nurses to help her out. The place has very nice accommodations, and she likes to sit in her chair and look out the big windows at the grounds. When my mother was living on her own, she sometimes forgot to eat. This place has been a blessing, because she now gets three square meals a day. The director is always available to answer my questions. They also have a really nice doctor who comes and visits the facility every week. I can honestly say that I would recommend this facility to anybody who wants their family member to get the help he or she needs.
Memory Care Reviews for Elmcroft of Asheboro

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
My mother-in-law has moved into Elmcroft of Asheboro. The community has great people. We are pleased with the people and everything, it's just we have the virus going on right now and that makes it so difficult for anything. Nevertheless, they have been really good, and my mother-in-law said the people are very nice. The facility has assisted living, but she is in the memory care section of the assisted living. They actually have a separate unit for memory care. Due to the virus and the fact that we haven't been in it at all, I can't describe the staff, but my mother-in-law said everybody is very nice. They let us have a caregiver go in, and she said that everybody is extremely nice. They'll call me and I'll get emails.
My mother-in-law has a little bounce back and forth with the food because they're serving in the room now and that goes back to the virus. She said for the most part the food is OK, just once in a while, it's cold or it's something that she doesn't like, but she's eating well. Everybody there is really caring, and that's the main thing. My caregiver and my mother-in-law both said it's absolutely beautiful inside. The outside of the building may look a little rough because it's an old building, but inside, they said everything is just nice.
So far, so good. It's an older facility and they're going to be doing a lot more work to the facility. We got a lot of nursing homes that have got the virus, but Elmcroft of Asheboro got everything under control. They seem to be doing things right. It's a small facility and that was a very good advantage for safety right now. Me and my husband talked about it and we said it's a smaller facility, so they seem to have more of a handle to it. Everybody seems to know my mother-in-law. It just seems more like a family oriented thing where they keep up with each other. The staff is very good.
They cannot do activities because of the virus, but under normal circumstances, they would be very occupied because they have a lot of programs. They have a movie room and a beautician, but the government is the one that's keeping all of that from happening, so it's not their fault.
