I visited this facility

I went to Elderwood Assisted Living at West Seneca, which is nice. The bedroom was big and everything. The staff was very nice. They had a lot of activities. They had movies and games going on. The people that lived there looked very happy.

My mother-in-law has moved into Elderwood Assisted Living at West Seneca. There were two main considerations. First, it was the closest to where my husband and I live. The second conderation was that they allow her to manage her own medications. The overall experience is very good. The facility itself is very nice, very well-kept, and clean. I think they do a great job. The staff are wonderful. They are very friendly and helpful. They addressed any concerns that we had. They have a lot of things that a typical assisted living has. They have church services, bingo, cards, and physical fitness classes. They have entertainers come in, and they have a current events discussion group. There are quite a few things. My mother-in-law likes the food, too. They are not cheap, but they seem to be a little bit less expensive than some of the other places that did not offer quite as much.

My aunt moved into Elderwood Assisted Living at West Seneca. They had a lot of activities for her, but they don't have memory care. And that's the one thing I wish they had. She said the food was OK. They had a refrigerator in the room. A lot of activities, bingo, Jeopardy, all kinds of movies, and stuff like that. They have a courtyard, and an eating area for summertime.

I visited this facility

Elderwood Assisted Living at West Seneca almost seemed like a hotel. You had to take an elevator and go up to a floor and it could be confusing for older people. I didn't like that there were multiple floors and elevators. Upkeep was OK, but the rooms were dated. They had a stove in them, which they didn't use anyways unless the person was cognitively able to use it. It was like a waste of counter space, which there was not enough anyways. Then, the shower had a lip to enter it, which could be a fall hazard. They had activities, a library, a little computer workstation, a walking trail, and an outdoor patio. The staff was friendly.

I visited this facility

I toured Elderwood Assisted Living at West Seneca. It seemed clean, bright, and nice. The rooms were fine. The person who accommodated me was very nice, very thorough and very knowledgeable. The dining facility looked very nice. They had pretty much anything that anyone needed that were in their elder years and didn't really have to go out anywhere to find things. The facility looked very clean.

Elderwood Assisted Living at West Seneca was a very nice place. It just seemed a little dirty and there were spots on the walls. When you walked down the corridors, it wasn't easy to get around. The lighting was poor, but the staff members were very polite and there wasn't any trash on the floor. Overall, it was OK.

Elderwood Assisted Living at West Seneca is probably the better one. It was nice, but they're a little pricey. The staff members were outstanding, very helpful, and answered all my questions. They told me that we could get help from the VA because my father was a veteran. Everything was very spacious and very clean. They went through all the activities. They gave me all kinds of literature on what they had going on around there and explained everything to the fullest.

I visited this facility

I toured Elderwood Assisted Living at West Seneca and my experience was wonderful. Everybody was very friendly, and they were very professional, and they answered every question, and I was very pleased. If my parents needed to go somewhere or if they decided they wanted to go see a movie, that would certainly be a strong consideration. Everything was very nice and clean. Everything is built for your care. It didn't smell like someplace you walk into, and it smells terrible, and this did not smell. The cafeteria looks nice, clean, and cheerful. The residents made sure that they stopped me to tell me how much they enjoyed living there, so that says a lot. And the person who took me around was lovely. It is an assisted living facility. It's not anywhere you would want to go to unless you had to. But as far as it goes, it was accessible. The grounds are very nice, and they have a lot of greenery. They have a nice patio, too, and a fishpond. For what it is, you could tell they try to make it nice for the residents and their families.

Elderwood WS fine for those near independent residents. Recreation staff wonderful. Reception wonderful. Do not be fooled by website that says 24 hour nursing. Nurses there, but poor leadership and poor communication regarding problems and needs of resident. They say levels of care but it is really levels of money. Those in charge were not responsive toward concerns expressed about our loved ones that caused much stress and pain. They have pull cords in rooms but do not supply medical alarms as other places. Residents have spent hours on the floor including my relative. Personal care and knowledge of staff of patient issues poor. We are much happier at new chosen facility much more focused on good patient care.Elderwood does have nice rooms, good food, and many staff who are kind. But when most needed, those in charge let our family down.

Elderwood Assisted Living at Seneca was OK. The rooms were good and spacious, and they had a kitchenette. My friend was unhappy with the staff, but the food was OK. They had a nice, outdoor patio.

I'm very pleased with Elderwood Assisted Living at West Seneca and they do a great job with my aunt. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My aunt doesn't complain about the food, so I guess it's OK. They have a lot of community space, sun rooms across the front, outdoor seating out in the front, a wonderful back patio that looks out to the woods, and a family dining space.

We did like Elderwood at West Seneca. It was a very large building -- a couple of stories tall -- and there would be a long walk to the elevator, to get downstairs, or to get to the dining room, but the people were very nice. It seemed like a good facility, and it would be one we would consider for my mother-in-law.

I visited this facility

I toured Elderwood Assisted Living at West Seneca. It was very welcoming. We were shown a studio apartment as well as a 1-bedroom. The 1-bedroom would be more what my mom would have desired. The bedroom was separate, and the living room had a kitchenette at the end of it. The staff was very helpful and very understanding in anwering all my questions. They actually were playing bingo when I was there, and they had a massage therapist that came in. They gave us a plate of cookies, and they were good.

My experience with Elderwood was nice, but I think it was overpriced. The staff was fine, very pleasant, and the rooms were OK, but we needed a two-bedroom, and they didn’t have many there. They had a chapel, dining room, an activity room, exercises, and bingo.

We found Elderwood for my mother in-law. Everything is fine, and they work very nicely with her. There’s a lot of support, so we’re please. They have shopping excursions, and we take her out from time to time for dinner. The food is quite nice and she has not complained.

My sister is in Elderwood Village. The staff seemed very friendly, and my sister liked it. I guess the food was fine because my sister didn’t complain about it. They seemed to have a lot of things going on.

ElderWood was a high-rise facility. There was a lounge on every floor, and they also had elevators. The dining hall was very nice, and it looked like they had good food. The people we met were very friendly and eager to help. They had a little chapel.

I visited Elderwood, and I was only there for about an hour. They have everything there, and they seem friendly too. It is hard to tell unless you get in there and stayed there. The rooms are good, and they have a kitchenette too. The only trouble is they have three floors. It seems alright, but I can't really recommend it because I don't know enough about it. The girl that interviewed me was very friendly. Elderwood is nice, and I almost went in there but they have me up in the third floor, and I didn't care for the third floor.

The rooms looked nice, neat, and big enough. They seemed to be an acceptable two-room, studio, or a one-bedroom apartment. The people seemed to be happy with the situation. Elderwood was a place that I would definitely consider once we are ready to make that decision.

The staff were very nice and informative at Elderwood. They do a lot for you. It seemed like a really nice place. The rooms were small, but they were nice. They do have a lot of activities. They have bingo and game rooms. They have different card games. They have a nurse and a doctor that comes in once a month. They do a lot. They take them shopping and to their doctor's visit; it's just a nice place.

ElderWood Village At Westwood is a very good facility and is very clean. The staff is very helpful. If there was anything they needed, they would contact us. If my father-in-law requested anything, they were right there to help him. They offer a lot of activities and a lot of entertainment for their residents, but he is a loner. He doesn’t go and get involved. It’s a very friendly environment. They try to encourage them to do a lot of activities to keep them occupied.

This is one of the first facilities that I visited, and I was actually very impressed. They offer a lot more than one would think. Grandpa is really happy here because there are people to socialize with, and he gets to make new friends. The staff seems to promote this, since they have a lot of events for the people who live there and their families. We recently went to a "speed meeting" event that they had. It was like speed dating, but for the families of residents. The healthcare at Elderwood is also top notch. The nurses get to know the patients all very well, and they are prompt and curteous when he needs care. They also have people who clean his room for him and check up on him periodically so he is never alone very long. The actual facility is also very nice. It is modernly decorated, but with a style that older folks seem to like. He got to choose the color of his curtains and a few other things when he moved in. This really made him feel at home.

My grandmother has been staying at Elderwood Village at Westwood independent living facility for about five years now. Right from the start the staff was friendly and welcoming to both her and our family. Living at Westwood my grandmother gets to maintain her independence while having the benefit of 24 staff to help her if she needs it. As far as the community goes, I really can't say enough about it. Outside of the organized activities the facility offers, my grandmother has found a whole new circle of friends to spend time with and go shopping with. It's nice to know that she's not alone when the family isn't around and that she's happy and secure. Her apartment is just the right size for her to maintain and allows her to decorate the way she wants to, it still feels like home to her. Overall, our family is very happy with our experience with this facility.

My grandmother lived in this facility. The staff couldn't have been kinder, both to me and my loved one. The staff in the dining room were always especially nice. they always remembered our names and had a kind word for my relative. The facility itself is just georgeous. my grandmother had the one bedroom apartment with a kitchenette. I thought it was a good size. She never really agreed. it was much smaller than the home she was used to. we very much enjoyed the backyard, just beautiful. I think they could have had more activities or more varied activities. i think the ladies like the excerise and movie night. Although, the West seneca location wasn't much help when my grandmother started forgetting. She wasn't alowed to stay after her dementia increased. The said that the open campus was a risk to her with her forgetting so much. I really wish they had a 'seasons memory care' center at that location. i think having to move only confused her more. i wish they could have done something more.
