I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
I decided to write a long overdue review. This has been such a difficult year but we have been so impressed with their handling of the current situation with Covid so I will try to provide details about that. We have been kept up to date with visiting polices, safety policies and they’ve had no covid cases. They keep the residents busy with safe activities and special meals. They also keep residents and families connected with visitation and video calls. Our family member has a private room with a large window and private bathroom.

My Aunt has dementia and was housed in an area for people with that diagnosis. The bathroom floor of her room was like fly paper, truly disgusting. I should have realized how bad the place was when I entered and saw a cat the size of a medium dog roaming the hall. There was cat hair all over the front mat, not the best conditions for people with cat allergies. The smell of urine was over- powering upon entering. Dark, and dank are the adjectives that come to mind in describing the common area, which is also the resident's dining room. The staff was in a room very near the common area, however the six wheelchair bound residents were left unattended.

My sister is at Lakeshore Assisted Living. Her room is very nice, spacious, and clean. She's happy with it. The staff is excellent, and I haven't had any complaints at all. I had a good meal there. They have bingo, a bowling alley, and go out in a bus for shopping, and she's happy about that. They're very caring, and it has a pleasant atmosphere.

Lake Shore was very nice. The staff was very helpful and very informative. They have clubs, and they take their residents to shows. Dining area was large and very clean. They gave my aunt lunch, and she enjoyed it.

Didn't seem really clean. Staff was not friendly. Not a place I would want to keep my family or visit.

My mother is going to be moving into Lake Shore Assisted Living on March 1. It’s a very nice place and convenient to my sister. The setup is very nice. She’s going to have a window room on a corner. Right at the front door, there’s a nice sitting area that overlooks the lake. There are a lot of activities there in a game room; plus, they even have a little bar there. The people are very happy and don’t stay locked in their rooms. The staff seemed very nice, patient, and helpful.

I visited Lake Shore. I thought it was more like a nursing home than an assisted living. They had activities. The staff said they do not have bingo. The dining room was like a cafeteria.

Lake Shore really needs a do-over. It was very outdated, and the rooms were very small. I didn't like it at all. The staff was very impersonal too. They did have activities, but it really needs a makeover. It seemed to be a very old place.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. The main selling factor for Lake Shore is it is close to one of my sisters -- family is very close by. They had nice activities, a little more original than some of the other ones. They would take them to the beach and shows and to New York City to go watch the Yankees. They were a little more adventurous than some of the other places that I looked at. The price was very affordable. It was not modern, but had a beautiful view of Lake Ronkonkoma. It was right on the lake -- a very pretty location.

I am a friend or relative of a resident
My Great Aunt, Susan, was assisted by two female nurses. One named Natasha and one Urkina. Urkina was not a nice lady. She worked on her own schedule and did not provide her with the right care. Natasha was the most lovely woman I have ever met in that facility. She was intelligent, organized, mindful and just a great help. Susan would through tantrums and had mild seizures. Natasha knew how to comfort her after those attacks. She went out of her way to help, whereas Urkina did "what she was supposed to do", apparently. I think working at an assisted living facility requires an open heart, love and desire to help people and comfort them rather than just cleaning up and becoming a maid. My family and I could not thank Natasha enough for the help she provided for my Great Aunt Susan. She always put a smile on her face.

Lake Shore overlooks the beautiful Lake Ronkonkoma and the front area is very pretty. The facility offers numerous activities for residents and were extremely accommodating when we visited or wanted to pick our Grandmother up for the day/evening. The rooms were "OK." They were more then adequate and in the grand scheme of things, it does not cause me to downgrade the facility. We were very happy with Lake Shore and their treatment of our Grandmother and us and guests. Quite often, we heard positive feedback in regards to the food and smiles were seen when local children would decorate for the holidays. It honestly was a very pleasant experience and if conditions did not worsen to the extent that a full nursing home, I would have liked to see my Grandmother remain at Lake Shore. If you are searching places in the area to house a loved 1, you can feel assured that Lake Shore is a quality assisted living facility with a caring staff.

My great aunt became a resident of this facility after her husband passed away. I've visited her there on several occasions. The staff are very professional and polite and they seem to have a good relationship with the residents. My aunt has said that she is grateful to the staff there for being so kind to her since she is no longer able to care for herself. While she is unable to participate in most activities there are still some recreational activities that she enjoys doing. Many people have taken a sincere and significant interest in helping her to live among the many women and men who require particular care in their daily lives. She has made many friends and enjoyed the company of certain individuals who she says have reminded her frequently of the human kindness which is on display at this community. This assisted living facility is a wonderful place.
