I visited this facility

My dad was at this facility for a few months twice in a two year span. I found the care to be compassionate. The rehab team was great. They have some wonderful aids, ( Marvette is THE BEST) and the front office staff most, especially the social workers were always kind and gave me the time I needed and the attention I needed to feel like my dad was getting the very best care, I would definitely recommend this place

This facility is top of the notch! I am seeing some comments about the director of nursing but in my few times experiences and run-ins I have nothing but good things to say. Not only did my mother feel extremely supported but she also felt right at home!

They are HORRIBLE and almost killed my father with their neglect. He came to this location for rehab but they never brought him for PT, the social worker was impossible to get ahold of, they often denied him water for hours because they were tired of changing his depends. He then he ended up with a terrible rash from often being neglected. He had to be taken to the hospital because his health deteriorated from their neglect and abuse. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!

My mother stayed at the facility for almost 5 months this past year because of a stroke. I was extremely overwhelmed because this was all new to me and I wanted to make the best choices for her and still do. I have to say the best part of the facility is the ladies in the office they have helped me so so much throughout her whole experience there at Forest Hills and I am still able to contact them now after she has gone home for a month now. I too was only able to see her in dining area or outside in warmer weather, but from what I could see from the phone her room looked okay I saw a lot of her ceiling at times (it needed a paint job). The staff for the most part they do what is necessary for the patients some as with any situation went above and beyond for her and I am so greatful to those individuals!! All in all staff was respectful I only can honestly say I had one time that I had to call and the director and supervisor handled situation swiftly and with care they listened to me and my mom and addressed the matter without hesitation and my mom did not have any incidents after that ever again during her stay. Unfortunately the director is leaving I wish her all the best she was definitely an asset there her and the other ladies are all amazing people and they all complimented each other so well. I hope the new director can meet her standards because I can't say enough good things about her and the rest of the ladies and not to leave out some of the gents over there they were great too!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom was with Forest Hills Care Center for the whole summer and most of the spring. It's a little bit hard to park in that area. Because of COVID, at first we could not even see her, but we were fortunate that she was on the first floor, so in the beginning we had to visit her just by looking through her bedroom window. As time went on they were able to let us see her, first through a plexiglass window in the front door, and then we were able to go to the dining room, visit her, and bring her a birthday cake at one point. And then a staff member tested positive for COVID, and so they had to put on restrictions again. I would say the staff was very friendly. Many of them were very flexible as far as time to visit her. The only one problem we had was it was hard to reach someone at different times of the day. It was hard to nail someone down to get answers, but once you got someone on the phone, they were kind, helpful, and they were all very nice. In Forest Hills it was a shared room, and she had a roommate. They did not have anything as far as we know while she was there; because of COVID they could not do many things. It was sad and hard for us because when she had lunch sometimes, she would have to sit out in the hallway. She's a very social person and there weren't many activities going on. It was hard to get her out of there and bring her closer to us. We were hoping we could take her out once in a while so she was not just in the facility, but it's no fault to anyone, it's just because of COVID that they had so many restrictions. One time she was able to bring her dinner. That's what I meant when I said they were flexible. Instead of bringing her back up to her room for dinner they brought her food down and they let us sit with her. The food looked very nourishing and they gave her quite a bit, so I thought the food was pretty good. It looked very clean, but I am only going by the dining room and the front lobby. Her bedroom looked a little bit like it could have been updated a little bit. It wasn't dirty or anything, it was clean. It just looked like the furnishing could have been updated a little bit. Otherwise everything looked fine. It wasn't overly priced or underpriced, it was average.

My mother was in Forest Hills Care Center for rehab. The staff was excellent, and the food was pretty good even though she was on a pureed diet. She was in a shared room, but it was OK. They have lots of activities for the seniors like bingo, parties, they had one circus themed party where they had animals, and it was really pretty festive. They have a library on every floor, and a lovely outside area where people can eat. The staff was genuinely very caring. The one problem they had was it being understaffed.

I visited this facility

Forest Hills Care Center was very business-oriented. They had a nice and clean facility. But I did not like the ratio of healthcare and attention, and for me, the residents did not look too satisfied and happy.

I visited this facility

When I first came in, the people were very welcoming. We started to set up our microphones and audio equipment on stage and everyone was so patient. There even was snacks laid out for everyone. While we were setting up our equipment, we were also talking to the older people about their experiences and why they decided to check into a nursing home. Some had rather tragic stories, such as their own son or daughter kicking them out of the house. But everyone was open about their experiences. I was a little nervous at first thinking these people would be very grumpy and tired, but that wasn't the case at all. We sang very well and it seemed to please everyone that we went out of our way to do this.Overall I was very pleased with this experience, seeing that we put smiles on everyone's faces. It was good to know that these people were being treated well.
