I looked at The Legacy at Santa Fe. Their staff are very, very genuine. The place was clean and beautiful. It's more of an aesthetic side. It's a little bit more upscale and aristocratic, but I think that some of the decor was very flexible. They were willing to work with you with the move in, move out dates, and even change around configurations in apartments, so that was pretty neat. They were just more expensive.

My grandfather recently moved in to the The Legacy at Santa Fe. I worked with Ruben and the team to get grandpa moved in as quickly as possible after a stay in the hospital. The team at the Legacy moved up his move in date to accommodate his hospital release. Ruben and his staff helped put all of Grandpa's furniture together and loaned us items that we needed until we were able to purchase them. We all met together to go over Grandpa's care plan so that we could decide on a placement that allowed Grandpa the most autonomy and also kept him safe and cared for. I love the staff at The Legacy! They are caring and treat the residents with respect. The residents have a large menu of programs to choose from during the week. This week I was able to join Grandpa at a concert in the music room where we sang along to familiar songs. They went on an outing and had lunch and ice cream the following day. I was waiting for grandpa to return, and it was so joyous to see him practically run through the door with such joy after his outing. The concierge, Jules is wonderful and so patient in answering all of our questions. Sonia, grandpa's nurse is very knowledgeable and empathetic. The food is wonderful, and the chef offers options if the residents want a different item. Grandpa loves the food so much they've started offering double portions! We are so grateful to the caring staff at The Legacy. I think I might move in myself :)

My wife was at the Legacy at Santa Fe. The service and the attention were fantastic. The management was exemplary, and the staff was very good. She was in a facility in Austin, Texas before we moved here, and the difference between the one in Austin and the one here is just light years ahead. The staff is not being changed all the time. It was very consistent. The staff was very attentive. They know the person, and they take care of their needs. Everything was just outstanding. She was in a studio. There was a bedroom and a bathroom. There was excellent cabinet space. She was in memory care, so they didn't have a lot of amenities. The outdoor area was adequate. The safety was very good. It's all behind locked doors. They had transportation, but it wasn't utilized by the memory care people. They had memory care and assisted living.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom is at The Legacy at Santa Fe. They have both assisted living and memory care. The people are nice. Every time that I visited my mother, it was always clean. It smells clean, her room smells clean. And even on the memory care side, it smells clean. You can walk into some places, and it doesn't smell good as you're dealing with incontinence and things that. The staff is nice, very friendly, and they're good with the residents. It's newer and it's very fancy. They do things with the residents. They have a piano player come in sometimes; they've got a piano there. They also have different activities. One time they took them down to the balloon fiesta and they also have a doctor that they bring in to do physicals or whatever you need. They also provide salon services. They don't have a salon there, but they bring somebody in. They are just the nicest people. The only reason I'm looking at my options is because when we got in there, we got a fantastic deal. A couple of years ago they were doing an all-included $3095 a month. And given the level of care my mom needed then, you can't touch that today. Now three hots and a cot are $4500. So, we had that for two years. But then she finally needed to go into memory care and it's $6800 a month. It is still all-included, and everything considered, that's not bad. The only thing I found close to it was a place near where we live right now, but we visited there twice, and it did not smell very good. And the staff just seemed like they didn't care. But Legacy has nice people. The memory care area is like a T-shaped area. The rooms are all private like they were in the other areas. The only difference between memory care and assisted living is that, of course, it's lockdown. At both ends of the doors that go in and out, they have a wallpaper that looks like a forest, so you don't even know the door is there. They have an outside area, which is the courtyard they go to. They have a little kitchen, and a shop right there. There's always somebody, usually two or three people there at least, for about 18 rooms, and all the rooms are now filled. We haven't eaten there but the food smells and looks good. I've joined my mom for coffee, and I've had the coffee there. It's all in good condition. Everything's clean. They have activities but my mom is not outgoing, so she didn't participate in anything. But one of the residents does drawings and paintings, and he gave those as a gift one year to everybody. I've been pleased with them but it's starting to become cost prohibitive.

I visited this facility

The Legacy at Santa Fe was beautiful. The rooms had a huge bathroom and a lot more closet space. They had a very good way of knowing where the people are. They give you a watch that serves as your key entrance to your room and if you need some help, you just touch that button and they know exactly where you're at. They respond almost immediately. They have very good control over who comes and enters the building. So you can't leave the building without them knowing who's going out of the building. The only thing I didn't like was its location in Santa Fe. It was too far out of town for me. It's about ten miles from Middletown. The good thing about them though was not only do they do the laundry for your towels and sheets, but they do your laundry as well. They take people for an excursion every Wednesday and they also provide a ten-mile radius for transportation to doctor appointments or groceries. The staff was fantastic. Even though I have not selected them, they still call me, invite me to go to lunch, or just find out how I'm doing. They just can't do enough for you. I had a meal there and it was nutritious and good food.

Provider Response

Dear Ray, Thank you so much for the kind review! Happy Holidays. The Team at the Legacy at Santa Fe

I visited this facility

I toured The Legacy at Santa Fe. It was one of our top choices. We had lunch there. We met a number of the staff. We met the chef, the nurse, and the director of memory care. The people that we met obviously view this as a life career. The service was fantastic. The rooms were looking totally comfortable, with a very light and airy feeling. It was four years old, but it was beautiful. We give it 5 stars.

My father is living in The Legacy at Santa Fe. His overall experience has been very good. It's well above expectation, so that's great. What I like the most overall is that the staff's level of care is strong and the food is very good. His room is nicer than the average place that we visited because it is a relatively new facility. I've eaten some meals there, and the dining area and the food have been very good above expectations. There are a bunch of amenities including an exercise room, and game room, and there are the occasional off-site trips. Originally when we placed him there, we thought it would just be a short-term thing, but he's happy enough and we're happy with it that it is likely he will stay long-term. The facility is lighter and brighter than the other facilities we've visited.

My relative will be moving into The Legacy at Santa Fe. It's very clean and the environment is very inviting and has lots of nice light. The staff was very friendly, personable, and professional. They had a game room, a library, a hair studio, a movie theater, a lovely courtyard, and a nice cafeteria. They could have options. They didn't have to eat what was being served. They could order from an ala carte menu, which was nice. The views of the mountains were wonderful. They had a beautiful balcony where you could look at the mountains. The staff was kind, caring, concerned, passionate, very well informed, very professional, and very supportive. They had arts and crafts, different board games, socializing like movie nights, and field trips.

we were not able to visit the facility in depth because of Covid restrictions. the facility was very nice with a cheerful atmosphere. Covid precautions were good and the planned expansion of the facility had nice features for ambulatory patients. there were no dual bedroom units available, single unit have to be joined to create double units. the site has beautiful views. value is reasonable but lower than others in the city.

We saw The Legacy at Santa Fe. It's a very nice place, it's great, it would be like a vacation, but it wasn't within our budget. Everything was really nice, it was new, and they had beautiful furniture, but you would have to bring in your own furniture. They had an exercise room, they had a snack room, they had refrigerators, and microwaves.

The Legacy at Santa Fe was clean, new, and techno savvy. It wasn't highly populated. It had really great technology advances that I really liked. You can open your room door with a smart watch. You don't need to have a key. The rooms were nice, good sized, brand new, and had lots of light. It was fantastic. The menu looked great, and the dining room was wonderful. I saw them doing some activities that were highly engaging and fun. The place where they were doing them had lots of air and lots of open room space. It wasn't done in a closed area.

I visited this facility

The Legacy at Santa Fe looked fresh and new. They had very nice display of arts in the hallways. I thought that was very well thought-out; however, I felt like it was very institutional. You cannot go outside the building as there is no garden area around it. We saw the biggest room that had a living room, a bedroom, a little kitchen, a big walk-in closet, and a bathroom. We also saw a dining area, a beauty shop, and a salon for hair care and nail care. The assisted living people had come down to an area close to the entrance where there was some music being played. This was around 4:30 p.m., so I thought it was nice to have that little bit of music at the end of the day before dinner. The staff member who assisted me was wonderful. She answered my questions very carefully and she was very thorough. She was very pleasant; she was very good. We enjoyed her.
