Christian Health Care Center is a gorgeous facility. It's always kept very clean and there's never an odor. I like the thoroughness of the employees there. They're very good at managing difficult behaviors. They have a barber shop and they did a really good job with dad's haircut and shaving. They have daily activities. They're working in a garden area and at mealtimes, they play soothing music for them. They've just been very thorough, and communicative when needed, but not overly so. They do a really good job giving him a variety of meals even though he is on a chopped diet. He is currently on Medicaid there.

My aunt was admitted to short term rehab after a fall. She was sent for rehabilitation so she could return home stronger after a few weeks. Christian Health is not a rehab facility. They over medicate hoping that patients just stay in bed and don’t complain. The staff is rude ( especially the aides) and they ignore the patients and families concerns. My aunt’s health deteriorated rapidly and we called an ambulance to get her to the ER. ( ignoring Christain Health’s directive for my aunt to stay) My aunt was incoherent and hallucinating. It took 3 days to regain her mental stability after the mediations were flushed from her system at the hospital. My aunt would have died if she had remained at Christain Health. Please don’t send a loved one to this horrendous facility .

I will start by giving the positive. My mom was in the dementia care and it was clean . But that is where it ends. I don’t know if they don’t have enough staff or just inadequate care. My mom was transferred here because the nursing home she was in closed. The care she got in the previous Nursing home cold not compare with the care she got at Christian Health. My mom’s former nursing home was like family and she was given such care there that I knew I could rest easy. We were called for every little thing. If she had a cute on her foot they immediately called in a foot doctor. She accidentally threw out her false teeth and they called in a dentist and had her false teeth replaced within 2 weeks. At Christian health care her teeth were never even put in her mouth and had to eat puréed food. Her health declined drastically and she died within 3 months being there. My daughter visited her on the Saturday before she died and she was sitting in her wheelchair and responded to them. The following Thursday when my husband and I went I was appalled to see the condition of my mother . She was in the dark activity room with her body twisted and deformed. My husband and I took her out of the room and tried to get her to respond to us. My husband was even trying to open her eyes. She only responded by saying I am so tired. Seeing her mouth twisted and drooling I told the nurse my mom is not responding and she told me that oh she yells at night. In the total of 3 years she’s been in a nursing homes and only the last 3 months in this nursing home that was the worst I have ever seen her. We were told a month earlier if they thought that my mom was going to die soon please call us and they reassured us they would. We were told that they can tell death is near by the color of their skin. The next day after my husband and I visited we were called and told us that my mom was not responding. We were going anyway because of what I saw the day before. When we got there my mom was non responsive and her leg was purple. They did a Doppler test on my mom’s leg . The next day we were going anyway and they called us to tell us my mom had deep vein thrombosis and was going to be sent to the hospital for surgery at 98 years old. When we got there we said absolutely not. We had to sign papers. I think that they didn’t want her to die there because there is no way that any hospital would operate on a 98 year old woman. The next day not only were her legs purple but her arms and both legs were purple. Her fingernails were white. I saw that my mom was struggling to breath so I asked the nurse if she could give her oxygen. She said well her oxygen level was 93 this morning but I will give it to her because she is going to need it anyway. We had to sign papers refusing hospitalization. We knew she didn’t have deep vein thrombosis it was her blood not circulating throughout her body. We stood with her a few hours and were going come back next day. We no sooner got home to tell us my mom died. No phone calls were made to offer condolences. But the previous nursing home my mother was in came to her wake and sent messages of condolences. By witnessing a good nursing home I could tell what a bad nursing home would be and this would certainly fall in that category. If you have a family member there check daily. With Covid we weren’t able to do this. Prayers to all that have family members in nursing facilities. We have to be their advocates.

My husband was in rehab at Christian Health Care Center. It was very good and very clean. The physical therapy staff and the gym were marvelous. It was fabulous. Everybody was friendly. Great food. The place was very nice. The PT was a wonderful place with all big windows around the whole place. Most people were very nice. I, myself, or one of my children were there every day. They never knew when we were coming and that was important because you could see what was happening. I never really went in there that I was horrified about anything.

This is my revised review - as my first review was not accepted. Mom was a very vibrant 81 year old woman who you suffered from dimentia. She was witty and fully of life. She carried herself very well with this disease and disguised it very well. Mom was admitted to this facility on May 14, 2020 for a non surgical hip fracture, on the advise of Valley Hospital, as she couldn't bear any weight and was in excruciating pain. She was in need of physical therapy. Christian Health was recommened to us. Due to COVID-19 we were unable to go in and visit with Mom, so we were very worried about her being there. We talked with the Kim at Christian Health Center and she assured us that Mom would be OK and that they were very capable to handle her with her dimentia issues. Unfortunately that was not the case. Upon Moms arrival on Thursday 5/14, she was admitted with dentures and glasses. I spoke with the head nurse on Friday 5/15 to make sure that Mom had her teeth and she assured me that Mom had her teeth. Over the weekend we visited Moms window and she seemed to be OK. On Monday 5/18 I received a call from Charge Nurse Carmel. She mentioned that she was going through Moms paperwork and that it mentioned she had dentures and glasses but that Mom didn't have these items with her. Apparently, they never went through Moms intake bag from from Valley Hospital upon her admittance - and those items were still in that bag. After Mom not having her teeth in for five days - she no longer wanted them as it probably felt funny after not having them. I called Charge Nurse Carmel every day to check on Mom and went to moms window at least 3 times a day. My sister and I brought her favorite things to eat every day. Fortunately she had a window we could go to. Alot of times she was slumped over in a wheelchair. We would have to call the Charge Nurse to please have someone go in and help Mom. Mom also was continent when admitted but they had her in a diaper. Charge Nurse Carmel and Dr. Soriel suggested that we medicate mom so that she would be more manageable. They said that was a common procedure for patients with dimentia. I didn't agree but I think they did anyway. When calling to check on Mom I was constantly told that Mom was uncooperative and had to hear about her bad behavior issues. After the 2nd week there we hired a private aide to go in and help Mom. The Aide said we really need to get Mom home as she wasn't benefiting from any physical therapy. We took Mom home after the 3rd week. She lost over 30lbs while in their care. After 3 months home trying to get her to eat and get her back to what she was - she gave up and passed away in August. Also want to mention that In July the office called to tell me that they had several of moms things and her gold watch. I told them that I couldn't get there right away as Mom was home with Hospice Care. When I called to go pick them up after Moms death, they advised me that couldn't find her things. Do not put your loved ones here unless you can spend alot of time watching over them. My Mom was only 81 and would be alive today. Horrible place.

My father is in the Christian Health Care Center. They have different levels of care, and he is in the memory care area. They've been wonderful. The food has been good. They've been able to handle him. It's a beautiful facility. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and patient. The food is good, there's plenty of it, and they make sure it's all hot. It's expensive, but they're being paid sufficiently for what they're doing.
