I visited with my sister who has Dementia. I was pleasantly greeted by the front desk who was Very helpful. The place was Very Clean and the people I encountered were Kind and Pleasant. The Floors were clean and there were no unusual odors. My sister was well dressed and her hair was groomed. The food was acceptable to each Patient. The staff who worked where they were eating were Very Kind and Caring. My sisters room was Very Clean and her bed was made with clean sheets. I left feel that my sister was in the Best of hands. Thank You to All The staff who put their Hearts and Souls in Caring for these Patients. God Bless!

I visited my 78 yr old Mom and was very uncomfortable as I walked past the nurses station hearing the staff loudly complain about the patients and mocked them! I thought...how ignorant to do in front of family walking by! My Mom was ready to walk out, because of how nasty the staff was. They served her coffee with sugar and cream and said they had no stirrers or spoons! She ordered fish; they gave her a cold hamburger! I had to call to get them to give her the food she ordered; they were going to let her starve! They are not attentive to the patients; it's like they hate their job and the patients. All these things a nd more happened on the very first day! Don't send your loved one here!

I moved my Mother from another facility to Aristocare At Whiting. Unfortunately, she was already on Hospice Care, but moving her was the best decision I made. Her last weeks were spent surrounded by tender and compassionate caregivers who made her feel special. I can not thank the staff and VNA enough for their kindness toward my mother and toward me during my visits. I only wish I had moved her there sooner.

Greetings….. I just wanted to make a few comments about my Mom`s stay at Aristacare in Whiting. Although there`s no place like home I need to say that overall, The Aristacare staff, including the social workers, doctors, nurses, aides, and rehab instructors were all great to my Mom and myself. All were courteous, informative, polite, caring, and never in a rush. Phone calls were answered promptly. When she left, they even made sure that anyone who was in on their shift that day could say good-bye to her. So you can see it was a very positive experience for my Mom. From my Mom and I, we say thank you.

My best friend was sent there after a hospital stay to rehab from surgery. Right from day one and every day after the food was served cold every meal, every day, ( Health Department Violation ). No warming tray carts are anywhere to be found in the building and at times the food would sit outside the room 20-30 minutes or more before being served, and on some rare occasions the food was reheated in the microwave, most times not, which also worsened the quality and temperature. Food choices not desired were constantly ignored and were none the less served day after day. Complaints and concerns to the Chef, Kitchen Staff, and Servers were unheeded or ignored and the phone number of the Dietary Head was withheld to prevent further discussion on the matter. My friend was also not provided a calendar of activities, events and resident council meetings and could get no information from the staff, calls to the administrator went unanswered or ignored. He was also billed for services that are fully covered under Medicare for the first 20 days of a rehab stay. Inspection reports are not readily available to warn of the deficiencies at this facility. DO NOT COME HERE.

I was a resident of Aristacare Whiting for several weeks and was very satisfied with the care. Of course one always encounters a few bad apples but the few were outweighed by the many who gave smiles and daily encouragement. Therapies were consistently good. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to anyone needing care.

I could not be happier with the care my father received. The staff was extremely attentive and within 24 hours the Executive Director introduced himself to us and even gave us his cellphone number in case there were any issues that needed to be addressed. In addition to the great care, they even offered take in food every week, which gave my dad something to look forward to. Therapy was beyond amazing! The entire staff helped my Dad get back on his feet! I couldn't recommend AristaCare at Whiting more!
