The Pines of Newmarket

I toured The Pines of Newmarket. No issues there. It was just smaller. It just wasn't a good match for my mom. There was nothing wrong with the facility. The staff was amazing. The resident activity level was a little less engaged, and my mom is a little more social. It was a quieter venue. The rooms were clean. The tour was great. The people were friendly. Everything was good, it just wasn't the right personality match for my mom. Their dining facility is different in that it's kind of a multipurpose room. They use what the dining area is for visitors coming in and they use it for activities. Like everything is kind of dual-purpose because it's small. They only have like 20 residents, so it's a smaller setting. It was nice and clean, but it was just small. It was in a nice area with a lot of apartment complexes. It was a newer area. On the inside, I got a good tour of rooms that were clean and neat, and some examples of how they're furnished. The staff was amazing. The guy that does their admittance and stuff, was phenomenal on follow-up and tour and all of that. It just wasn't a match for my mom, but I didn't have anything unfavorable.

I went to The Pines of Newmarket and we had a walkthrough, we spoke with them, and got some information. It's a little more assisted than I need. As far as assisted living, I really wanted to look for some place that started as independent and then moved to assisted living. They showed us the various room styles, and walked us through the common areas, so it was very nice and very clean. The staff who gave the tour, Cherrie, was wonderful, because I had showed up and it wasn't the correct appointment time, they weren't really prepared for me, but she was more than happy. She introduced us to a couple of the nursing staff and she was extremely pleasant. They had a small exercise group going, which was more just arm weights and stuff like that, and they have a nice common area that's got a fireplace. The location is very private, it's not in the downtown area, and it's kind of in the country a little bit. I like the location, it's not too far out in the boonies, but outside of the city.

I went to The Pines of Newmarket. This was more geared towards people who would need assisted living or memory care, so it's not some place I'd feel comfortable sending my mother to right now. It felt more like a nursing home. It was clean, a little dated, it felt more like a nursing home setting. The staff was very good, and it seemed like they're there for a long time. They screen you before you go in.

I went to The Pines of Newmarket. The staff person that gave us the tour was new and didn't know what he was talking about, and couldn't answer any of our questions. There is no independent living there, and so it was a wasted trip for us. It needs some updating. There isn't a lot of communal space outside. I wasn't impressed. The size of the rooms was OK. The social director was super nice and she did a lot with the residents.

My father moved into The Pines of Newmarket. It was wonderful, and I loved everything about it. He was in quarantine before he passed. The staff was excellent as well.

Where to begin? My mother who had dementia was at this facility for a little over a year. In that time, she was given the wrong meds and had to be hospitalized once. Her room was moved so many times that even I couldn't remember where they had her. When we toured the place were just about guaranteed a bed would become available by the director (April) when her private funding ran out, (her words exactly, "knock on wood, we've never had to refuse anyone a bed"), and sure enough, once her funding ran out they forced her out as well. If you care about your loved one, stay clear of The Pines of Newmarket.

Pines of Newmarket was OK. The rooms were clean, but I think the bathroom was not appropriate for seniors. It had a bathtub that was useless to my mother. They had a common room and a small courtyard, and there wasn’t very much outside area for the residents.

My wife was at the assisted living level in The Pines of Newmarket. It was an excellent place and they treated her well while she was there. It's also reasonably located. Her room was a bit small, but very comfortable. They would've provided a television, but she wanted to bring her own, so they allowed her. The meals were basic, but still good.

The Pines of Newmarket was a very good place. I enjoyed the staff and everything I saw there. The rooms were very nice. They had a lot of games, people come in to cut the residents' hair and toe nails, and they had movies. It seemed like a very caring place. I didn’t see any cobwebs, so the place looked clean to me. It is our first choice for Mom, so we are on the waiting list there now.

After caring for my mom for 8 years at home, the time came that I needed to place her in an assisted living facility. After being told by another facility that my mom was "nursing home material", I contacted the Pines. They were so nice and caring. They immediately assessed my mom and made it a seamless transition. The Administration, April, Emilie, Stephanie and Rachelle (LPN) all know their patients and families. The staff cares about their patients. It is like a family. I always felt like my mom was in good hands. When my mom recently passed, the staff was so caring towards us. It was like they lost a family member. I am fortunate that my mom was cared for in her last months so well.

The Pines of Newmarket Senior Living was excellent. The rooms were excellent. I liked everything. It was perfect. The staff was very nice. I didn't see anything wrong. All of the rooms might have been double rooms, and I didn't like that. The price was a little cheaper than the prices at most other facilities. It was clean. Everything was on the first floor.

I visited the Pines of Newmarket and had a very nice tour. The director was very nice and very informative, but it was not affordable for my mom. I only got to see one room that was nice but small. The recreation area was nice, but it was not a good fit for my mother.

The Pines was small, they have shared rooms which wouldn’t work for dad, and they didn’t have a room available for him. The staff seemed to be on top of everybody. It seemed quite cosy, and that was another option I considered for dad. They had a new enclosed courtyard.

I think the staff was very friendly and competent at The Pines of Newmarket. The rooms were very small, but they were very clean. I thought the security and safety were excellent.

I went to the Pines, but this was not for me. I’m still too coherent to be given pills to sleep all day. I walked in, and there were people sitting in the community gathering area, but they were asleep in their chairs. One guy, they seated him in a wheelchair, and he was so out of it that he couldn’t sit up straight. His legs were all the way out of the wheelchair, and his back was sitting on the seat, so I was like, “Ok, that’s not my cup of tea.” The lady there didn’t know all her stuff.

I visited the Pines of Newmarket. It was small and clean, and they accepted Medicaid. They were sort of a remote location. The rooms were small. It was a quick tour. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable.

I visited The Pines, and what impressed me about this place was that the environment was lovely, and the people were very caring. They really took time to explain what it is and what is not. When I mentioned that my sister is 54 and that she has a spinal injury and what her needs were, they were very honest with us. They were really trying to give us the information to draw our own conclusion, and I appreciated that honesty. The facility was clean, and it was lovely. It was homey. They allowed us to see a few different room styles, each of which was appointed in a lovely way. The staff knew everyone by name. They made a point to show us the different places where people could go.
