My mother lives in Langdon Place of Dover. They're very good there. The food is good, the care is good, and the nurses are good. They are, however, just like any other facility short-staffed through the whole COVID, so that was an issue. All in all, I rate them pretty high from what I've seen. The assisted living facility is great. It's pretty clean. They do a good job renovating. The walkways are always standard and sheltered. You could see that they put effort into it. The controllers got a handle on things. Her one-bedroom apartment is good. The living room and kitchen are together with the walkway and then the bathroom is separate. It's big for one person. She may have to go to a shared bedroom that's small in the care unit and I'm afraid that's going to be a problem. When we moved in, they repainted and put in new floors and new carpet. They do that to every unit. They do a good job at it and taking care of it. Everything there is pretty good. They have two or three PTs on board. They do swimming aerobics if you can. They have an indoor pool facility, so it's pretty nice. They do well with that. They have games, bingo, movie time, and prayer time twice a week or something like that. They also have people come in to sing for them. They really have quite a well-rounded venue. The food is great.

I got a call from the director of Langdon Place of Dover who said that there was a bed available and if we wanted to come down and look at it. So, she was just on the ball and I thought that was great, because we had to get Dad out of the place he was in. The head nurse does well and everybody's been doing well with the memory care residents. They have done what I've requested of them and I just love the head nurse. She's been very helpful with Dad and even makes suggestions. One of the things I like about their activities is my dad is a Marine veteran and once a month, they have a group that meets and talks about whatever they want to do. They put stars up from different people and what service they were in. I just thought that it was great that they're recognizing that.

My friend stayed in Langdon Place of Dover on respite. It was during COVID times. I did not find it to be particularly clean. The person that I had stayed there on a respite visit. I could never reach her by phone. She did not have a phone, and every time they told me I could just call the desk and I could never reach her. She felt alienated and thought we had just put her somewhere and ignored her because none of her friends could reach her. And the director, I think she was the director, I can't remember her name. She was pressuring my friend to sign papers to live there permanently. And I was just very unhappy with the service that she received there, and the fact that she was constantly being pressured to make a decision about staying there permanently. It felt like it was just high pressure selling. My friend was never involved in any activities for the time that she was there. Her room was very small, very small, and confined. She was able to get her hair cut.

Langdon Place of Dover was good. The building and the grounds looked very good. The staff and the people we met were very friendly. The biggest drawback is what they call a suite where they share it with two people, it is about a 10 x 10 room with no other facilities in it other than a TV. I don't know why they call it a suite because it isn't. They get you three meals a day, but that's it. It was very clean and well-maintained. They have an indoor pool, an exercise area, and movies. They have a fair number of activities for their residents. The biggest thing is the cost and what you get for that. It's an assisted living facility and $2800 get you your room but there's no assisted. Everything that you should need is extra. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. It's an older building but they maintained it well.

I had 2 friends stay there. One had ti stay a while after colostomy, another, a hip replscemeng. Fresh water is NOT even provided unless asked for. Langdon place was once highly respected place and one everyone wanted to go to. Now? Just another hole in the wall. All patients there? Get MINIMUM CARE. The facility? They will deny my review. Please do NOT put your loved ones there to suffer. After what I was told by a daily visitor, before covid, and another during covid? SHAME ON YOU LANGDON PLACE. SHAME ON THE CARETAKERS THAT MAKE A RESIDENT RING A BELL, WAIT, & WAIT & WAIT FOR SOMETHING BASIC LIKE WATER. I have lived long enough to PRAY I DIE AT HOME THAN GO INTO A HOLE IN THE WALL LIKE LANGDON PLACe. Oh and I tell ANYONE THAT WILL LISTEN!

I'm living in Langdon Place of Dover right now. I've been here for rehab, and for the most part it's been very, very good. The care from the girls is good. They're a very caring staff. The food is, for the most part, very good. They have a great OT and PT staff. The LNAs are, for the most part, very, very good. You always have the one that you don't get along with, but the nurses are excellent, and the social worker is superb. She's very good with her job, and she's very caring. I can't always get in touch with her when I need her, but she's busy, and I realize that. The main person that admits people is very accessible and I've been able to talk to her. In fact, she called my husband before I even came here, and told him this is where I was coming, and if I needed anything to give her a call. It's kind of laid that groundwork, and that was very good, and that made things very easy. One day, the head cook and the social worker came into my room and wanted to know what was good, what was bad, what was ugly. They wanted to know what they were doing right and what they were doing wrong. I told them, and they were very glad. I was very open about what I felt about what they were doing because there were a few things that we tweaked on the menu, and I let them know, and they tweaked them. There were a few things on the menu that I said, "Why do you put this and this together?" and they went, "Oh, you're right, why do we do that?" I have Crohn's, and every Sunday night they put a salad on my tray, and every Sunday night I send it back saying, "I told you no salad," and it's right on my ticket: no salads. There are those little things that still need to be tweaked. I'm in a two-person room, it's nice, and airy, and it's got windows. We both have windows right beside our beds, with a little hall that goes out to the main hallway, one bathroom, the showers are down the hall, and we each have a closet. It's nice, and bright, and painted yellow. We each have a TV.
