Assisted Living Reviews for The Wentworth of Las Vegas

May 20, 2019

I visited this facility

The Wentworth of Las Vegas was a good facility, but it’s just that the price was so high and outrageous. It had a good atmosphere, nice rooms, and the staff seemed to be okay. It had 2 wings, it’s laid out like the others, and they have different communities inside the facility. We didn’t spend enough time there. I’m sure it’s going to be great for some people, and not so great for other people, again it’s going back to value, some families can afford that, and some can’t.

Provider Response

Good afternoon Dave, I hope your day is going well. Thank you for taking the time to rate The Wentworth of Las Vegas four-stars. We are ecstatic to hear that your time in the community went well. It is our mission to provide a homelike atmosphere for anyone that walks in our doors. We accomplish by the staff we hire. We look for those who have a real genuine passion for taking care of others. It is great to hear that you saw this first hand. I am sorry to hear that you can't be a part of our community. We completely understand that finances are a huge factor when deciding which Senior Living community is best. If there is anything you need from us during this process, please don't hesitate to reach out. You can reach us by phone or Facebook message. Thank you again, Dave, and have a great rest of your day. The Wentworth of Las Vegas feels more like an older model Holiday Inn and didn't feel as warm. It's also aging. The staff member who helped me there missed the first appointment, and according to her, the secretary had been told to let her know when I arrived. It's a pretty large facility, but she didn't do that even when I asked her to let them know I was there. I talked to her maybe 20 minutes before to confirm and she wouldn't do it, so I turned around and left. They called back, apologized, I went back, looked at the place, but it wasn't really what I was looking for. The common areas looked really nice, but the rooms are kind of hotel-ish, and I'm not really a fan of that format. The facility was OK, but it didn't stand out.

Provider Response

Good morning Glen, my name is Shawn, and I work at the Milestone Support Center (located in Vancouver, WA). I am sorry to hear that you did not join us this past August. We know that this type of decision is a huge one and every factor needs to be considered. I have contact the community and regional leadership team about your review. We are confused because we did not miss your first appointment. There was a communication problem with your third visit, but that was because we were unaware that you would be dropping by until you arrived. The Director of Sales & Marketing was currently in another meeting at the time. We have addressed your concerns with the concierge. We are happy to know that you found a community that works for you and your family. If you need anything from us or want to provide more details about your experience, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. You can reach us by sending a private message on Facebook or by giving us a call. Thank you, Glen, and have a great rest of your day.

I moved into the Wentworth of Las Vegas. It’s very nice, and everybody is nice. I like it. There’s not a lot to participate in, but they have occasional Bingo, cards, and different things, plus three meals a day. They would help you, if you don’t have your own arrangements for your doctor. The staff is wonderful, and I’m very happy with them.

I visited Wentworth of Las Vegas and was very pleased with the place. It was very clean and did not have a convalescent smell. The room my husband will be in is very nice. The staff has been very helpful, very nice, and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. The grounds were very well-kept and very quiet. There will be a place for him to go outside and walk. I liked what I saw.

I wasn't happy with The Wentworth of Las Vegas. The rooms weren't as nice and big, but they wanted more money. The person who showed us the rooms wasn't enthusiastic and wasn't all that friendly. It just makes it nice that you're able to see a lake.

They were nice at Wentworth of Las Vegas. We liked it and would definitely consider it if and when my mother-in-law is ready. The people were nice. The place was nice, clean, and well maintained. The manager spent quite a bit of time with us and was very accommodating. It had a memory care section so if that's something we have to worry about down the road, it wouldn't have to be a major move for her. It had a nice dining room and activities. There was a bus if my mother-in-law wanted to go places. I thought it was really good.

I chose to go to The Wentworth of Las Vegas. I had been there before it was remodeled, and they did a wonderful job. The rooms are twice as large as the bedrooms from the other community I saw. It does not feel like a hospital room, and feels more like a bedroom at home, which I appreciated. The dining room is very pleasant. They have crafts, movies, and game time. The feel of the place is very bright and cheery. It has split Alzheimer’s and memory care centers for functioning and non-functioning. They are all inclusive in the price.

I went to The Wentworth. It was assisted living with an area for memory care. It was beautiful. The staff was excellent. The location was excellent. The grounds were beautiful. The rooms were very nice, clean, and well-kept. They were top of the line both price wise and service wise. I would recommend it to others if they could afford it.

Wentworth of Las Vegas was fabulous, and I can't praise the staff enough because they're just a wonderful group of people. The food ended up being pretty good, and the room I was in was decorated very nicely. Everybody was just very friendly, and I met some friends in there. They're older than me, but I enjoyed talking with then. At least once a week, they would bring in live entertainment, and they have plenty of activities. It was fabulous, and they had entertainment starting at 9:00 to a movie at 6:30. They had concerts, DVDs, football games, and live music. It was great, and I really had a good time. They had completely furnished rooms, they have this huge television, and it was decorated beautifully. It was just beautiful, and the care staff is fabulous. They really care about people, and they knew all of their names. It was really nice, and I hated to leave the caregivers.

I decided to stay here in Wentworth as it’s very nice except that I shouldn’t be in assisted living because I am disabled. The staff was very good, and they have a lot of good quality people that cares of the ill people. They have all kinds of activities, it’s in the middle of a lot of things, and they take us to bus trips. The meal was not bad at all.

The Wentworth of Las Vegas was really good. We really liked it. It was a brand new facility, and was very good. It was very clean, and organized; but maybe not quite as many activities. What I liked most about it was that it had bigger rooms, and it was clean, of course, since it was brand new. It was nice.

The entire staff at The Wentworth of Las Vegas cares for their residents. They are very friendly. Even if nobody’s looking, you can still see that they are very patient, very kind, and always smiling. They just treat everybody with dignity, and respect. That was very important to me because my mom has mild dementia. The location of the facility is very convenient because it is centrally located. Restaurants, and stores are nearby. The lake is also nearby, but I would highly recommend this facility mainly because of the way they take care of their residents. The residents were everywhere. You could see that it was a happy place. We are very happy with this facility.

The Wentworth is where my grandmother moved into. The apartment was much larger than in all of the other assisted living facilities. They’re remodeling right now so it’s a little chaotic, but it seemed OK. The staff is OK. Each resident has a pendant that they push the button for if they need help with anything including pain medication, and it takes them a while to answer that. When they answer that, and it’s for medication, they have to go tell the Med Tech. If it’s not time for the medication they don’t tell the residents. They just never come back. So that’s a bit annoying. It takes a while for maintenance to do something like multiple holes, and multiple leaks. The dining hall is OK. It’s not as fancy, but my grandmother seems to like it there. They have little concerts from people who come from the outside, and they have activities every single day. They have at least one concert a week it seems.

Terrible environment. Terrible. My aunt lives there currently and I had gone on a tour to decide whether it was a good place for my mother. The caregivers and management talk very down about the residents and clearly do not care about the residents well being. My aunt said that the food is always tough and almost impossible for them all to eat. I watched as a resident threatened to kill herself and was simply ignored in the lobby and the tour guide rolled her eyes. Met two dining room workers who were exceptional and absolutely amazing waiters/waitresses. And also a few caregivers who were very caring. But the management is ridiculous. Would NEVER leave my mother in such a terrible place.

I have no complaints at all. They have stuff going on every afternoon. They have bingo, concerts, and musical entertainment. The staff is wonderful.

My mother is getting very good care at Wentworth of Las Vegas. The food is good. She is always clean and dressed properly, and the attendants always seem to be very attentive to everyone. She is an Alzheimer's patient in memory care, and she seems happy. They have a lot of activities. They have a DJ come in usually once a week, and they have people come in with animals. They dance, and she gets up and dances. We're very pleased with what they do for their patients.

I am/was a resident of this facility

My mother had moved to the Wentworth towards the end of April. First of all, it is being remodeled, so it is getting a fresh face, and people, I found, were extremely friendly, very open, eager to help, and the employees, to me, were more open-armed. So that's what actually drew us to this, and the other thing is that it's close to our house. On the first day, we got two free meals with our member, so we did eat. Of course, they were senior portions, but it was very nice, and the residents that we spoke with all feel the food is very good. The room was brand-new carpet, brand-new vinyl, and fresh coat of paint everywhere -- absolutely pristine. Parking is not very good for the visitor. Parking right now is limited since they are doing some remodeling, and they are using some of the parking spaces for those big garbage things and whatever, so it sort of restricts the number of slots.

We’re in Wentworth. It’s strictly a retirement community. We have an apartment with a living room, a kitchen area, a bedroom, and a bathroom. It’s one of the larger units here. They have people come to entertain. They have reading classes, books, and exercises as well. They do have a nurse on duty here that’s available at all times. They have people on call 24 hours a day, and they will come and assist you whenever you need them. We looked into a couple of places and chose this one for its location and the facilities that they had.

Wentworth of Las Vegas was the least expensive for what my uncle has. He is on a very limited income, and they are helping him get Medicare. It's costing him about $1100 a month, and that leaves him with about $100. He is sharing a room with somebody. They take them around town to go shopping, to the casino, or the bank, and he likes it.

My neighbor’s sister was living in Chancellor and she asked me to check on her. I think they were paying about $2,600 a month at that time. When I was there, they were serving dinner and the food was wholesome. She had a very large room and a very nice bathroom. They did allow pets. I have nothing bad to say about them. They invited me for a 4th of July musical and they must have had activities other than that. The place was clean and they did take care of their patients. The staff seemed to be very friendly.

The Wentworth of Las Vegas was the most reasonable one in Las Vegas as far as pricing. It's a nice looking facility. It is well kept but it smelled a lot. They also had some issues with the drainage on their laundry room and it smelled sewage. She is sharing an apartment with another person and we have been having problems with her roommate and I am trying to get the issue resolved, but they are not resolving it. Some of the staff is very nice, but there are some who don't care.

I visited my friend who stayed in the memory care unit of Chancellor Gardens of the Lakes, but I also got a chance to visit their assisted living part. I think it was a fine facility. They have their buses and little limousines on-call 24 hours, which I think is great. They also have entertainments for their residents. I would recommend this facility.

The lady who gave me a tour of Chancellor Gardens of the Lakes was lovely and very knowledgeable. Her brother was the chef and I enjoyed my meal there. They had a nice large room. They had regular activities. They had a room where you could place cards. They had a movie room. They also had a reading and a computer room. It seemed like a homey place and I liked it. It is located on a nice, very high class street.

A couple of months ago I had toured this place for my mother and father. After meeting with Danielle the Admissions lady, I had a good feeling about the place. She took her time and went through everything and seemed very understanding. My dad was a veteran from WWII and Danielle said that her partner Chris would be able to help with a pension for them from the VA. I met with Chris one weekend and he was so helpful. Gave me all of the forms, told me what I needed, some ways to help speed up the process and was generally very knowledgeable. They really seem to care there and my parents moved in last month. They seem very happy so far. It was tough in the beginning until they made some friends but now mom is out all the time doing stuff and they have a second wind. Definitely recommend this place. Love the location too! Really easy to get to.

I like the location of Chancellor Gardens and the amenities they offer. The marketing director, Chris, took the time to show us around and made us feel very welcome. He was very open and honest about the facility and what they could do for my mom. She has been there for about four months now.

We go over there every week and it seems to be a very nice place. The facility is very clean and the people are nice. I think the only complaint was about the food. The residents are seated and they don't seem to get the food in a timely manner. Sometimes it's cold and sometimes they don't have what they need. When they had nothing but rice and potatoes for quite a while, and they complained, they said food has to fit the budget. That's the problem, because people pay that kind of money and they're not getting what's worth. So they just need to improve the food and service. Although they say it has gotten a little better.
