I visited this facility

Maranatha Village was very nice. The people were very nice there. I just fell in love with the place. The main reason I really like it is because it's secluded. It's surrounded by woods and I love that, and it's quiet. They have studios, apartments, and houses. I am looking at a duplex. There's a gathering area. It's beautiful in there, and I really fell in love with it. The staff was great.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Mom is currently in Maranatha Village, and she is in the nursing care part. They are recommending that she go to a memory care center. Maranatha has been wonderful. Mom has been there now for a couple of years, and they are fabulous. I have not visited her in the last three weeks because of the COVID restrictions and everything. I feel like they have done a really good job of taking care of my mother and meeting her needs. We have her in a private room right now, but we could also try a shared room and see how she does. They have an activity director. They have an activity room where they have puzzles and games available. They have a lot of activities available. They have a community dining room, though a lot of times my mom prepares food at her room. They have a piano there and back before COVID they would have someone come in to play music. They help her with medication, getting her in and out of bed,and the shower. They have a doctor or two on staff there, so she is seen by a doctor regularly. Back pre-COVID, they had an activity where they would take people out on trips. The facility seems to be laid out quite well. They have a monthly calendar of activities up on mom's room even though she doesn't really participate.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Maranatha Village is associated with the Assembly of God church. My mother has been with this church for a very long time, it is the place that she always wanted to go, and it ended up being quite affordable. It is a 180-acre campus and very safe; they take very good care of their residents. It is really a wonderful place. My mother says the food is amazing. They charge $150 a month, so that they could go and eat lunch, but it is full; it has dessert, their drink, salads, and a big meal, and then they give them little packages that they could take home for their evening meal. They have little shuttles, and they take them to Branson as well as to the theaters in Springfield once a month, and then their little shuttle will take them to Walmart several times a week or the Dollar General or wherever they want to go. They have activities in their building like Bingo every week and Bible studies throughout the week, they have guest speakers, and they have a chapel that they take them to 3 times a week for the actual church services. They also have a big community center where they have scheduled activities too. They have facilities for every stage, from the independent living apartments down to assisted living and nursing home, and they also have a hospital. So they see them through the entire last phase of their life, and what is great is that all the people they are surrounded with get to visit them because they are still on the same campus. They will take them down there to see them, be it in the nursing home or wherever, so they really stay connected.

My Mother is living in the assisted living area of Maranatha Village. She is very happy there. She gets three good meals a day and snacks. Her room is comfy and cozy. The bathroom is large and very wheelchair and elderly friendly. The staff are very supported and friendly. She loves the chapel and all the activities available to her. She says she feels healthier and contend. She knows her neighbors and the fellowship. If any one would ask me where the best place for someone needing assisted living my advise is Maranatha Village.

I visited this facility

Everything was fine at Maranatha Village, but they don't provide meals. You still have to pay your own utilities for gas. They have all three levels.

I visited this facility

They showed me some the apartments that some of the residents live in at Maranatha Village. They have an apartment area for people who can take complete care of themselves. They also have assisted living, which is what I want to look at for my dad. The rooms were OK, but they were smaller than I thought they should be. The nursing home I didn’t care for. It was too crowded. The staff was friendly, but it didn’t feel like home. The dining room is OK, nothing fancy.

I visited this facility

I visited this facility on several occasions while working for a home health care company. The facility was well maintained with nice landscaping and friendly staff. The environment was very cheery. Residents seemed to be happy. The assisted living apartments were very functional and spacious. I was most impressed with the bathroom in each unit. Each I saw had all wheelchair accessible door widths and a variety of grab bars and similar devices. The kitchens were also well thought out and very wheelchair accessible. The only complaint I had was that the closet space was very limited. The campus of the facility was very nice and well maintained. There were several well kept walk ways and garden areas for residents to enjoy. The dining area available to nursing home and assisted living residents was also very nice. Residents seemed quite satisfied with the meals provided. Assisted living residents also had to option to have meals brought to their apartment. I observed this on several occasions and meals were always hot and fresh. Staff was always friendly and helpful. If anyone asks for my recommendation on an assisted living or nursing home facility this is the one I will recommend first.
