I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

They deserve 5 stars in my opinion. They have taken very good care of my mom on two different occasions and my Mom just loves everyone there. I can call Erica in the office and check on mom anytime and it I'm very grateful to her and the staff!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I visited a friend at Magnolia Square Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. It was clean when I walked in. The nurses and staff that came in when I was visiting my friend were very friendly and very nice. I was actually in her room and this was before COVID, but that was about all I saw. I didn't see any food because it wasn't at lunchtime or anything. When you walk in it, it smelled clean and was clean. The staff was nice and I walked in unannounced. I was a visitor. I only saw her twice, but I didn't see anybody else. We were just there to see her and then out, so I know very little. I was impressed. That was one place I was going to check if where my mom was, was not OK. I was really happy with what I saw. Everybody was friendly, and there was nothing that I saw that would keep me from referring somebody to be a patient there.

I visited this facility

I've chosen Magnolia Square Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for my husband. I thought it was very neat and clean, nothing smelled, and it looked like there was enough staff there for the residents. I was very impressed and that's why my husband is going to be moving there next week. The communication has been pretty good. The room I saw was the type he would be in, it wasn't very clean, but they're working on it. It was a one-bedroom apartment. I looked at a sample menu and it looked pretty good. There were benches, trees, flowers, and bushes, it was very nice. It was well maintained, it had fresh flowers all over the place which I thought was amazing.

I visited this facility

My mother was well cared for and treated with dignity and respect for the last weeks of her life at Magnolia Square. During the pandemic, we were allowed "compassion visits," since my mother was terminally ill. Erica was a joy to encounter at the front office. She was excellent at coordinating the visits and bringing my mother, when she was able, to the "Parlor" visiting area. The Parlor was a separate, homelike area of the facility, which allowed us to cry, pray, and sing without bothering any of the other residents. When mom was finally too ill to go to the parlor, we were invited to her room. The rooms were clean and were also homelike, not like a hospital or typical nursing home. There was NO smell - which I've encountered visiting friends in other facilities. She was attended to in a professional and caring manner. Combined with the additional care she received from the Compassus Hospice staff, our family couldn't have been more pleased with her treatment during her final days. Towards the end of her journey, Rachel and the other Magnolia Square staff members surrounded our family and helped ease our grief. Magnolia Square is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by our family. My mother's suffering was lessened and our families gratitude was immeasurable!

Newly hired admin. is changing the aforementioned culture and attitudes of employees. My mother spent three weeks here and was given the highest level of care for her entire stay. What it was and what’s it become are like night and day in 2019. Room are quaint, clean, and maintained. Plenty of activities and positive interactions amongst employees and residents.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My friend was there at the end of September 2017 and she said there were no aides available to help. There was one on the whole hall and she said the facility was short staffed but they weren't hiring they just kept firing and aides were quitting from high demand and not enough help. That is a red flag for NEGLECT. The administration was oblivious to the lack of help here! My friend waited over an hour for every meal. No activities in the facility, just blah. Residents were forgotten about in the hallways. Place was filthy and smelled with trash on floor. Glad to hear my friend changed facilities asap!

my mother is a heart patient, on oxygen, diabetic as well as many health problems. not enough staff on weekends, her diaper needed changed at 7 am she pushed for help, no one came till 4 p.m. meds were not given, oxygen was not on her when i arrived. never get her up, or elevate her legs to ease swelling, is not taken to dinning room at night. left in bed to eat. served cold food Staff does not care, do not have a loving heart,. very understaffed, administration does not care no compassion.. medicaid patients are treated worse, even tho has supported self all their life. is this how the administration and staff want their family to be treated

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My Father is currently at Magnolia Square, He is 82 years old broke his hip end of March 2017. He also is in stage 4 kidney disease with heart issues. So he is very ill and he is in a skilled nursing because he needs help getting back to walking and to be able to care for his daily activity himself. Until then I Expect the staff to help him get there, One nurse name Anne has been wonderful however she is only one person. The day aids most of them should find another job they do not seem to really care about the people they are to care for. My father hits the call light to help him to the bathroom and it takes the staff a long time to even respond to his needs. When the aids brings his meal tray to him I watched the aid she put the tray on his table did not ask if she could help him set up open his milk carton make sure he has a straw and silverware. she just put down the tray and left. If I was not there to help him he would have had to hit his call button and no telling how long it would be to get help. I can see the RNs do give good care however it takes a great team of all the staff to make a good place. I do not understand why the staff brings the patients to the dinning room to eat and they wait over a hour to get their meal, This is Not right If you go to a restaurant you would be complaining if you waited that long, This is so very unacceptable !! So what does it take to make a skilled nursing home do what is right well family members need to be the voice for your love one. I am so sad that my father has to be in this place I cry every time I just wish people would just do their job like they cared and put their self in these dear elderly love ones in their shoes and see if that is how they would want to be treated. I am hoping things will get better I will keep you posted.

I visited this facility

I was not so impressed with Magnolia Square Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The lady who gave me the tour was very nice. I didn't care for the set up of the facility. There wasn't anything that was impressive to me at all. It had an odor to it. They had music activities, crafts, and a beauty contest or something like that. The place could have been cleaner.

Other

I work for a local hospice organization and have had positive working relationships with staff at this facility, even with challenging situations, they have been receptive and understanding. The facility is clean and in good repair. The residents, overall, seem to be happy and their needs met. I would recommend this facility to be considered.
