I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm living in Breeze Park. I'm in the independent living apartment, but if it's needed, I can go to assisted living, and I can go to full-time nursing all the way up. This is not cradle to grave, we say it's a walker to the grave, you don't leave here unless it's your choice. I have a full kitchen here and it has my microwave and the refrigerator, and nothing else gets used. So I go every day for lunch. About a month ago I had a blood clot and then my leg was hurting so bad that I clicked my little pendant. They came on and this was like 11:00 at night. I said, Call 911. Before I knew it, the lady was there, the ambulance was there. That all got me right into the hospital and surgery, and it was immediate. If I'd been any place else, I wouldn't have had that. There's a swimming pool. There is a wellness gym. There are all kinds of group activities. The church is here, the doctor is here, and the dentist is here, he comes. The bank comes regularly, they tell you when you go down, you don't have to leave. But they do have the buses Monday and Tuesday to any doctor or dentist in the county, Wednesday and Thursday, to Kohls, WalMart, and Penney's. Any of that kind of shopping you want to do, and on Fridays, the bus will take you to any place. I have never heard a staff member say a sharp word to anybody. I liked their food. There are three choices on the menu. And if you don't like any of those choices, there's a whole bunch of sandwiches you can get. You take your pick, there's a whole page that you can take your pick. They have the roast beef open face, they have turkey and dressing. Yesterday I had ravioli. I've got my apartment all set up with Alexa and maintenance comes down and sets it up for me. And if I got any questions about any of the Internet stuff, just call and they come and help.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My grandmother moved into Breeze Park and she likes that it's kinda free flowing. There are options in the different cafeterias and she's allowed to come and go as she pleases. There are lots of activities, a theater, and things to do. The nursing staff there is very friendly and nice. Her room is very nice, she's all by herself, and the staff so far is pretty awesome. They take care of her meds, and they're helping her when needed. The food is very good, I even ate there one time and it was pretty good compared to some other places. They have multiple dining areas, you can go to whichever one you want and there's a vast variety of food to pick from. They have an activity room, a workout room, a rehab room, and a theater.

I visited this facility

I have put a deposit down with the Lutheran Senior Services at Breeze Park. They had all three levels of care. They had independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing. I was looking for all three of those in one location, and Lutheran was the only one that had those. There were two things I liked. It was not in the St. Louis County. It's in St. Charles County. It had all three levels: independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing. I would be moving in on the independent living because they have patio homes. The patio homes are a necessity because I don't want to be in the central building, where they have all the residents and stuff. I'm capable of living independently on my own in one of their facilities on the campus, which they refer to as a patio home. They have all kinds of social activities. None of that is what I would consider to be a make it or break it decision with respect to those kinds of activities, as far as I'm concerned. They met the primary criteria that I was looking for and anything over that is just extra. It's nice, but it's not that important. The staff has been nice.

I am a current client of this provider

My husband has been shuttled around before finding this facility. The care shown from our first day has not diminished but increased as they learned more about him and never ignored my questions or concerns. The entire staff I have encountered are caring, courteous and always willing to help for whatever the need may be.

I am/was a resident of this facility

A little over three years ago my wife and I moved into Independent Living at Breeze Park. We were in our mid 80s and several reasons prompted the move, not the least of which was family background that suggested a possible need for the layered protection supplied in the community. A few individuals questioned our reasoning and suggested that we might be disappointed and find a narrowing of certain areas of our freedom and activity. Those few people were categorically wrong! We were surprised, pleasantly so, that the outside activities we were already engaged in ran headlong into a plethora of wonderful opportunities offered by the staff. Our problem was not that we had too little to do, it was making the decisions for what we could do! Days were just too short. Probably the most engaging factor for us has been that rather than thinning our circle of family and friends, we enlarged it. Mealtimes bring us in touch with a wide range of interesting individuals with varied backgrounds and experiences. In like manner we discovered that the staff is engaged in a way that fosters friendships not just among residents, but with them as well. From the teen aged servers in the dining room to the highest levels of administration everyone is perceived as "family" and good-natured teasing abounds. What we discovered was that our decision to make the move had simply created a new and expanded family! One can surely say that in Breeze Park we did not find an "institution" but rather a community where everyone promotes the concept that care means more than simply meeting the physical needs of the individual. It's home.

The staff at Breeze Park was wonderful. It's older and small and had a long wait list, but if you've got a several year long wait list, you obviously are doing something right. They had everything from senior apartments, independent living, assisted living, memory care, nursing, and even short-term rehabilitation. It's a large campus that had multiple buildings. The outlying perimeter of the campus had independent town homes. They had a golf course and different amenities. They're allowed to use the facilities within, but they're basically living on their own. There was an apartment building for independent living where you get a little bit more skilled care and cleaning staff. They had another building made for assisted living and attached to it was the nursing facility. The rehabilitation building was also attached to the nursing facility. They were separate buildings, but all in the same complex. They had swimming pools and all kinds of amenities.

I visited the assisted living level of Breeze Park, which also had an Alzheimer's unit. The people there were nice, and the facilities were gorgeous. They had a bus that took the residents off-site to movies, ice cream and things like that. In the community, they had music, yoga, a pianist visiting, bingo, and pretty much everything. The apartment that I saw was a private room with its own bathroom setup like a bedroom with a sitting area for a TV, recliner, and couch. It's large enough for a queen-sized bed. They can roll the wheel chair inside the shower. There were also transfer and lift devices in the room but out of the way, so it didn't look like a medical facility.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I am very concerned about the conditions of the long term care "neighborhoods" and the quality and training of the staff. My aunt has been living here for quite some time and the overall conditions have declined. There are definitely problems with dirty carpet in the rooms and family rooms, dirty bathrooms, and the room tables that are used for the residents who eat in their room are never cleaned by the housekeeping staff. I have sat and watched the housekeeping staff come in and barely clean or wipe anything and rarely vaccume, Chairs in the dinging room are filthy and the bingo table and chairs are dirty too. I have also watched residents asking for anyone to come and help them (whether it is to go to the bathroom, or go back to their room, etc.) and the CNAs just ignore them, or say "ok Johnny we will do that in a few minutes. I often see the CNAs laying back on the couch looking at their cell phones, or eating themselves, while people are needing help. There is never enough staff around when the residents need it and it seems like the turn over has become extremely high. There is also a shortage of nurses (supposed to be one in every neighborhood for every shift), so if you ask a question about your loved ones care, the response is usually "I don't work on this side very often and I don't know." Every time I ask my aunt what someone's name is, she says, it doesn't matter, they will be gone by tomorrow. They have had some excellent CNAs in the past, but they are all gone now, and training of the constantly changing staff seems to be non-existent. Food is delivered from the main dining room in big carts and always seems to be cold and congealed by the time it gets to the residents in long term care. Seems strange that they no longer cook in the nicely appointed kitchens within the neighborhoods. My aunt pays over $9K a month to live there and I really think her son should be looking for someplace better for the money.

We went to Breeze Park. The visit was very positive. We like the accommodations. The rooms were probably the best size. The facility was a little bit more dated, but they have a lot of activities geared towards things that my sister would like. The menu looked nice too. And they were very friendly. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and gave us a full tour. It was a good community.

They are very pleasant, and they have a lot of employees that take care of the seniors. They take them on trips. They offer meals, and they have a nice dining room and cafeteria. They have entertainment, and they watch movies a couple of nights a week. There is a swimming pool. The food is excellent, and they have good cooks. You sit in the dining room, and you wait on it like a restaurant. It is top quality. The rooms have a nice living room, a dining room, and a bedroom. Some are two bedrooms with a kitchen and a sitting porch. Breeze Park is very well run with good people.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

What I like about Breeze Park Senior Living is their religious atmosphere. Everything is fine about the facility. Their rooms are nice. They offer a whole bunch of stuff. They have a craft room for the residents although my mom doesn’t take advantage of any of those. The place is clean, and I would recommend them, but I would like them to have wheelchairs for the residents to get around.

If I could afford Breeze Park, I'd be living in there now. This is a Lutheran facility. It's a wonderful place. I can't say any better about the staff. They're really good, polite and professional. The rooms were very nice. The activities seemed something that I would like.

This is a very nice assisted living center. There is an assisted living part and an unassisted living part. I toured a condo in the unassisted part and it is very spacious and livable. All the residents are very friendly and warm. The assisted part of the facility is in a different part of the complex but can be reached without going outside. This is especially convenient in the summers when temperatures are high. There are beautiful gardens and activity rooms throughout the complex. There is a chapel and more than one dining area for residents to eat. In addition to that residents who live in their own condos and town homes have fully furnished kitchens. That part is very clean and tidy. Overall it is a great center with warm friendly people. The staff is very kind and they know each resident by name. Walking around the complex they all had a smile on their face and greeted each person. A very warm place to live.

A top notch facility that we're seriously considering for Mom. One of the best in St. Charles from what I've seen after touring several facilities. As an aside however, it makes sense that tour guides be better equipped to answer pertinent questions concerning contracts, processes for deposits, financial details, etc. Would save time in the discovery stage for both parties.

I visited this facility

I toured this facility when attempting to locate a long-term living arrangement for a family member. The area is excellent and convenience to I-70 access. The living arrangements were recently renovated and seemed quality. The option to customize was available. Many activities seemed to be available. The upcoming calender we viewed included a parade, crafts, music, and library time. The cost of living within this facility is quite high and utilimately lead us to not select this option.
