A few years ago, i wouldn't recommend, but they have honestly made changes for the best and would now recommend this facility. Upper management, is compassionate and very professional and will take care of needs and concerns for your loved one. That's all you can ask for.

I believe this is the WORST place in Kansas City. They lost 3 gowns of my mother, even after we told them we would be doing the laundry. IF anyone answers the main number, they will transfer you to a voice mail or the person you need to talk to is on vacation. The Social Worker on the Rehab side is hardly ever available, no return call. If rehab is needed again, this will be the LAST place I would consider. Most of the Aides are lazy and inconsiderate. They hold their heads down or continue talking to coworkers so they don't fee obligated to speak.. No people skills whatsoever...This place is horrible.

The food at Carondelet Manor has been pretty good. My grandmother’s only been there for 30 days, and so far, so good. The room that she’s in is probably what we’re least satisfied with because it’s small. The rooms are mostly for two people and it’s not big enough to give each person adequate amounts of space. If there’s anything that I would be disappointed in, it would be the amount of space in each room. My mother and grandmother both went there. My mother got out, and now she’s going back. She had a number of places that we could have selected but she selected that place, so she must have liked it for her to want to go back there. They have bingo, cards, movies, singing, somebody comes and plays the guitar, and all kinds of stuff. They have a patio and a nice exercise room.

My parents were forced to live here due to unforseen medical chaos. The food is unrecognizable. My mom choked and aspirated because she wasn't fed properly. Things were stolen from their room. We never proved it but we did report theft to KC police. The place is scary and a ghost town on weekends. The Carondolet medical doctors and staff are unavailable and non-present. They ignore pleas for medical attention. Dogs in a kennel live better than people here. In my opinion, my mom died from mistakes and lack of care from Carondolet Manor. We tried to partner with the administration and tried to get them to treat my parents with the care and dignity they deserved. The laundry system often is at a standstill. Sheets are sometimes not available for beds. Clothes are lost and never found. Patients go full days without being changed or asked to go to the bathroom. I'm not certain my parents teeth were ever brushed. There is no normal socialization for any of the patients. Patients are pulled out of bed at ungodly hours in the morning so that the day shift and night shift don't fight over how much work they have to do. The administration and staff hate each other. Pleas for help are ignored. Patients languish and linger, uncared for. Pleas for partnership are ignored. Replies and response to concerns are non-existent. Very very sad and surreal place. Unbelievable that it's not closed. My parents entered in april 2015 and were both dead by August 2015. One died of cancer and was lucky enough to only be there a month. The other died of neglect and lack of care. Heartbreaking

My Mother is currently on the rehab floor. The "week"day" professional staff is very nice and seem to care. BUT they can not get the floor staff to follow up on orders. Plus my Mother has gotten three infestions, left for hours in her wet adult dipers, left to sleep 89% of the day away without getting her up. They weekend staff is a joke!!! They totally do not care and you can't complain to anyone as there is noone on duty above the floor nurses who just administer meds. I am on line now looking for a place to transfer her as she is getting worse every day instead of better.. FINE SOMEWHERE ELSE... Please!!!

The hospital case worker referred us to Carondelet Manor to visit for my dad. So far, for the rehab section, I really have positive things to say about them. The rooms were nice enough. With regard to the food, my dad seems to be OK with that, although he's on a special diet. For the most part, the staff are helpful. The nursing care staff and the rehab staff were excellent, but the long-term care, at least on the floor that they put him on originally, wasn?t very good. I noticed that they do have some activities for their patients. I really like the facility's location because it's very convenient for me, but their parking lot is just crowded. I think they just need to ensure that all of their nursing staff is answering and paying attention to the needs of the patient because, when he stayed on a different floor, we were very close to just leaving the place.

The Doctor suggested we took our Mother here for rehab. She fractured her back. Spent 3 weeks there. She was a changed woman for the worse. Brian told us she walked the bar and when we picked her up to leave she couldn't even stand up in her wheelchair. We came to visit her 4 days in a row and everyday she had the same clothes on. We had to complain about it to get anything done. We notice the last 2 days she had the same clothes on. They over medicated her. Since she has left Carondelet Manor rehad we now have to spend more time putting her back together. It was all about the medcaid money. They suggested to us to keep her there until the plateau was up. We will never bring her back to Carondelet Manor again. Her doctor sucks.

I was not a patient is this facility, but a friend of mine was. His name was Cejour and he is Haitian and he is about eighty years old. He does not speak English, so I would go there often to check on him since it was close to my house. I really really liked the staff there. First of all when you walk in there is a big banquet hall to your right, and there are also about three other banquet halls there. Every time that I went to sign in, the people were always so nice and sweet, I could just not believe it. Everyday he went to physical therapy, because he was recovering from a pace maker implant, and they would always let him visit with me, and then he would just go back to the physical therapy area. One time when me and some of his family were leaving, he started to cry, and I felt so bad for him, the nurse came right over and tried to talk to him in French. She was an awesome nurse, and she was so kind. The facility is so clean, and it does not smell like urine like so many of them do. My friend is no longer in the facility, but in my opinion it was one of the nicest ones that I have ever been to.

The facility is very clean, they have a very friendly staff, people are always smiling, saying hello and it just feels like home when you step through the door. It doesn't smell like a nursing home.
