I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I have a loved one staying at Towerlight. It's clean and it has some interesting intergenerational activities. That means that they have a daycare center in the building and then they make a big point of getting those kids out into the senior population for stimulation. That was probably one of the main reasons I decided to go with Towerlight. The place is very attractive. It's a new building and it is well-maintained. The rooms are spacious, but they do not provide anything, so you have to move everything that your loved one needs. People should be aware of that because sometimes you visit places that already have stuff in place for them. The rooms are clean. They clean the carpets and paint the walls, and everything looks pretty great. I have tried their food and have been disappointed every single time. It is usually cold even if it is supposed to be hot, or lukewarm at best. They don't even have an accessible microwave that they would allow the residents to use so you can't heat your food. I have sat with my loved one at lunch time and I don't find the food tasty or edible. They claim it is, but it's not up to my standards. The staff are generally indifferent. They look and act unhappy, like they'd rather be someplace else. They need to hire people who truly enjoy their job.

We checked out TowerLight on Wooddale Avenue and we liked that they offer assisted living in the same apartment that you live, so you don't have to move to another one. The apartments were very big. However, the biggest apartment they had was just a two bedroom. There was no den and I just felt like the kitchens had not been updated. They also charge $150 extra for a second person in the apartment, as well as for housekeeping, for your garage, and storage; although, those were much less expensive than the other ones. The people at the front desk were wonderful. They were very friendly and helpful. The guy that took us on the tour was great. He was able to answer a lot of questions for us. Everything was very clean. They had a lot of activities. They had a fairly nice fitness area, a salon on the premises, a spa, a library, and nice meeting rooms. The other thing that I really liked about the place was that they had a daycare center in it where they do intergenerational activities with the residents.

My mom moved into Towerlight on Wooddale. So far, it's above average but not amazing. Mom's room is very nice, clean, bright, and large. They have a lot of activities, probably 5 per day to pick from. They provide 3 meals a day. Food seems to be their key focus. I've tried it, and it was very good. They have various rooms and common spaces, which are nice. The staff is good. My only critique is she's been there for 12 days, and I would have expected that they would follow up and ask how she's doing and if she needs anything. They've done nothing like that, and I think that's sort of amiss. I've had to follow up on several things multiple times that I feel they should have done without me even asking once.

We chose Towerlight on Wooddale for my mother because of the size and the care. The staff is very good and very helpful. Upkeep and maintenance are very good. The food is very good. Her room is very light and bright, has a lot of windows, and is very clean. They have a lot of activities. They have exercise, church, and get-togethers. The value for the money is equivalent to all the other ones I looked at. They all seem to be fairly close, but they have option plans that depend on how much care you need. The pricing seems fair from what I've seen of all the other places. I would recommend them.

When my mother first moved into Memory Care, it seemed like a good place for her. However, as her dementia progressed and she began having behavioral changes, it was evident by their multiple calls to 911 that they had neither the staffing nor the skills to keep her safe. Often when I would visit her, it was difficult to find a caregiver if I needed some assistance. There were also many extra charges monthly for unscheduled services, sometimes adding several hundred extra dollars to the monthly bill. I eventually moved my mother out of TowerLight and into a small residential Assisted Living community, where she spent her last days surrounded by highly skilled and compassionate caregivers. TowerLight Memory Care is probably fine for people with milder, less progressive dementia. For more complex dementia, there are better places. When looking for a Memory Care facility for your loved one, do your research, look around, and ask lots of questions before making a decision.

I can be overprotective of my mom and I can't tell you have confident I feel with my mom at Tower Light. She loves the people, you can tell the employees like working there. The interaction with the kids is wonderful and my mom is genuinely happy!

Towerlight on Wooddale was very nice. The salesperson was very good and very accommodating, and she got us in there very quickly. One of the residents -- who has been living there for five years -- greeted us. She's very nice and very helpful. The dining area was nice, and they had a nice menu. We were shown the spaces that they shared. They have a theater, and they have separate rooms on each floor, one for reading, one was for crafts, they also have a billiards room, a beauty salon, and a fitness center. It's a nice place.

Towerlight seemed like a nice place. Dad is a resident and seems happy. The care seems to be good, and he has the help he needs.

My mom is now in Towerlight on Wooddale, and it is wonderful. They seem to care about my mom as an individual and want to know details about her personal history so that they can create activities that will reach back into her past for memories that will make her feel good, safe, and taken care of. The staff is very caring and compassionate. They talk and converse with her and seem to enjoy her personality. The room, the food, and everything is top-notch.

Towerlight was a really big facility, but it was all independent living. The rooms were really nice. The facility was great. They only had one-bedroom and two-bedroom. The one-bedroom apartments were very small. The staff was very friendly, very outgoing, and very active. The residents were very engaged. They had an exercise group, a walking group, and a choir group. They also had a cocktail hour, which was interesting.

Towerlight is a very nice facility. It is not so expensive compared to the three different facilities that we have visited. They take really good care of the residents. They have three levels of care, and they have lots of activities every day.

My sister found out about Towerlight, so we went there. The staff was welcoming and nice, and the rooms were wonderful and spacious. They have indoor and outdoor activities depending on what’s going in the community at the time. The dining room was very beautiful and comfortable, and the food is very good. I haven’t found anything that I felt they needed to improve on at this point.

We’re moving my parents to Towerlight on Wooddale at the end of June. It was just basically my cousin who was looking for her mother, and they have everything that met their needs: availability and location. And it works for my parents, too. It’s a really beautiful facility, and what they have to offer is very inviting. I know it’s new; it opened last August. It's more urban looking and about a 5 or 6 story building. It has a nice setup for them. They have a senior living, assisted living, and memory care. The senior living offers assistance in their apartment so they don’t have to move. The person we met was very personable. The one-bedroom apartment is about 1700 square feet. It has a bath, nice kitchen, and a living room. Everything a normal place could have, they have it. They have an art studio, exercise classes, little movie theater, beauty and barber shop, and even a daycare center for children. They try to co-exist so elderly people could watch the children. They offer full service breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but we haven’t tried their food.

The staff that we met when we had a visit at Towerlight was very nice and accommodating, but I don't like the location. There seems to be a lot of businesses going on.
