Mckenna Crossing was very nice. The staff was very helpful. It just had too many apartments for my mother. It was too big for her. It was very clean and very friendly. I wasn't able to sample the food, but it sure did smell good whatever they were cooking. They had a movie theater, a little bowling alley, a nice dining room, nice seating areas with a lot of windows, and a library.

McKenna Crossing was a very nice place. They're a little bit bigger, so they have more residents. The memory care rooms seemed fine. It's an older building, so it wasn't quite as well kept up as a new building would be, but it looked OK. It seemed clean and the staff that I talked to was very accommodating, easily answered any questions, and seemed concerned about what I was looking for. They have a lunchroom where you can go and order meals. The food is pretty good there, but you have to pay for it separately for a minimal fee (the actual dining room where the residents are eating is a different area). Since it's more of an older community, it's more well-established and they have a lot of activities. Being right next to the church makes it easier for them to get there from the facility, too.

My mother will be moving into McKenna Crossing. They seem to have everything that she may need now and possibly in the future. They've got very friendly staff and the units were nice. Everything was nice. Even where they go to eat, they've got someone that comes in and plays the piano. They've got cards and bingo, a bus that comes in regularly and can take them on different field trips that they have scheduled, a gym, a bank, and a salon. They've got everything a person would need.

McKenna Crossing is being run by Presbyterian Homes and they have a good reputation. They have a good staff to resident ratio. I also liked the fact that they have continuum care all in one area, from independent to assisted to memory care. Down in the lower section, they have a restaurant for dining and my mother really liked that. Even though memory clients eat on their own floor, they can go to the restaurant if they have company. They don't do the typical things like Bingo, they have really motivating activities. For example, in the memory care unit, singers come in and sing songs the residents remember from when they were younger. It would have been nice if the price was a little cheaper. The facility itself is very nice and easy to access from different areas. They keep the decorations current and there are no odd smells, they keep everything nice and clean.

McKenna Crossing had wide open areas, was very bright, and you didn't feel like you were in a dungeon. We met many of the staff and the residents, they had many floor plans so you had many choices of where to live. You can also buy in so that your monthly rate would be less expensive. It's in a very good location, close to shopping areas, and so on. I felt very comfortable there.

We visited Mckenna Crossing -- it's good and it looked nice. The facility was clean, neat, and the carpeting was up to par. They had workout rooms, craft rooms, and buses that take the residents places. It's a part of Presbyterian and they're very well-liked. The staff was sweet, very helpful, and wonderful. You can order what you want to eat off a menu. The residents we saw were very happy there.
