I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Horrible conditions. Property smells like urine. Very unclean. Residents are expected to share 1 bathroom between 2 rooms with 4 people. My father fell coming out of the bathroom due to the urine on the floor. No drape separating his roommate which means he had no privacy at all. Insects were swarming all of the time which after our insistence they found the toilet needed to be caulked. A meal came with hair in it and with the flys swarming my father stopped eating their food. Patients are wondering aimlessly all day and coming in to retrieve the food we brought him. On the weekends there is no management on staff so it feels like these poor patients are on their own. Do whatever you can to avoid bringing a loved one to this horrific place.

Poor resident care. Can’t get ahold of administrator or leadership team. Taking in all these Covid patients to get money and provide terrible care. Poor nursing staff. No follow through. Residents left neglected. Rooms very dirty. This place should be shut down!!

DO NOT send anyone you care about here! Patients/residents sit in soiled diapers/briefs for hours. Some staff members were excellent; however the bad ones out number the nice ones. They lied to my insurance company and threatened to have my family arrested for kidnapping when they got me out of there!

Over 25 years of caring for my parents I have never found a place so shameful. Our lists of complaints are long and many verified by family members who visited. The lack of supplies and services are wide spread- no kleenex, no visable signs of housekeeping, no garbage pails, no bath towels, showers denied, no extra blankets, going without water for hours and personal items disappearing. My mother was left for extended times in wet diapers and clothes. Regency of Taylor needs to be investigated! Integrity, dignity, trust and empathy are not found within its wall.

I would not put my worst enemy here. While the wound care was immaculate, everything else about this place was straight out of a horror movie. Filthy beyond comprehension - your feet stick to the carpet, bugs everywhere, and the smell of urine and feces from resident's being left unattended with full diapers for hours on end was so strong, it took all I had to not throw up. There were also sharp containers that were overflowing - with bloody tubing and needles sticking out - at a place that houses dementia patients! I had to report it to LARA and the head of admissions before it got fixed, and even then the answer was "we're not sure who's responsibility that is." And that is pretty much the theme of that place - no staff has any accountability whatsoever. I had to speak with the head of Social Work, Admissions, and the Head of Nursing for my father's floor and make an absolute scene before anyone would help my father with eating or change his diaper. After all those meeting I was sent an e-mail stating my father was doing fine and was receiving assistance... well at that time he had a roommate with no cognitive deficits. His roommate told me they NEVER helped feed him, and that they changed his diaper ONCE A DAY. He also informed me that he had fallen - I was not informed of that fall, nor was it ever documented in his chart. Even more alarming, after I told them I knew about my dad's fall not being documented, surprise surprise, they changed his room. Supposedly the decision was made in order to benefit him, but it sure seemed like they didn't want someone ratting out their staff's negligent behavior. The staff was never on the same page - it was always 'someone else's' responsibility to shower my dad (he had two showers in the twenty-two days he was there), it was always 'I don't know who's supposed to help feed him' - my dad lost over 15lbs. in those 22 days he was a resident. Over that 22 day period, he was also moved four times - despite it being a well-recognized fact that moving patients with dementia is extremely detrimental to their health. When I called to get my dad transferred away from that nightmare of a facility, the social worker put in the request for the wrong location. Then I was told that they thought he would be there as a permanent resident. Not once did I receive a progress report. Not once was I informed about discharge dates. I had to press all these issues. Thinking about that place fills me with a rage and nausea that is hard to describe. It was a literal hellhole. I am absolutely flabbergasted that this place is still open despite it's multiple health code and safety violations and clear neglect. My father was admitted for wound vac care and due to his COVID+ status, and he left with a pressure ulcer on his sacrum the size of a water bottle. Do not send anyone you care about there.

The place geared to make money, they don’t care about anything else. I pulled my husband out after 5 days. He had a broken bed, no guard rails to prevent falling out of bed. The call button didn’t work. The floors were dirty including blood on them. A staff member in the night tried to move my husband’s stoma from one side of his stomach to the other. He didn’t know that it was permanent due to having his bladder removed. My husband was scared so I removed him.

My husband has been in the Regency Healthcare Centre since June or July. Due to COVID, it's really hard to actually see anyone because it's been so restricted, but his care has been pretty good and we do Zoom visits. It could be better looking, and it could be more aesthetically pleasing and more comfortable. The staff is pretty good, but sometimes, it's hard to get through to anyone on the phone. I'm able to get through the nurses' station once I get there, but some days it's hard to even get through the receptionist area. He's in a shared room.

Do not send a loved one to this facility. My mom was placed here to recover from a hospital visit and finish antibiotics and physical therapy. She lost 20 lbs. during her short stay and did not receive continuing therapy as promised. She is legally blind, so I sent her cookies to snack on and no one bothered to open them so she could eat them. She had a container of cookies that I had filled and that came up missing. I took 3 large bags of clothes and shoes up there and every time I talked to her, she either had on a hospital gown or someone elses clothes. She was always in bed and hungry. She asked for water and they gave her a small styrofoam cup of warm water. When I brought her home, she had about 1/4 of her clothes and no shoes. They sent other residents clothes home, one a white shirt covered in blood. Who in their right mind does that?? Whitmer has allowed the mice to play while the cats away. They are doing exactly as they please and NO ONE is watching. Call, no one answers and they WILL NOT call you back. The zoom calls were nice, but after mom would hang up, I would sit and just watch what goes on and doesnt go on in her room. Horrible way to treat the elderly.

A friend is in this facility for rehab. Was the 10 days before first session. Given medication with about 2 tablespoons of water. Told he was dehydrated although there were times I visited and no water was available. Juice machine is unattainable-don't even ask for it. He has lost a substantial amount of weight; meal portions are minimal...a bun with a thin layer of ground meat, a couple tablespoons of beans and the same amount of potato salad. He was sleeping when breakfast was brought and removed before he woke up. One damaged wheelchair per room of multiple beds. He was told NOT to get out of bed and was admonished when he sat in chair by window. Also told to take a shower, a bottle of shampoo was provided but do NOT get out of bed. One employee told him he could go outside in the yard for some fresh air, but when he got to the door was told he told NOT allowed - go back to room. This place is frightening. Doctors who place patients in this place must have an interest in the profits because the insurance money is not going to patient care. One star rating is far too much.

I was there for 2 weeks for rehab. I run on exercise, sleep, and nutrition. I was lacked one or all 3 while I was there. Food servings are small. Breakfast was about 7:30, lunch 11:30, and dinner 4:30 which meant you went about 15 hours without eating. This results in a lack of sleeping due to feeling hungry. The separate heaters for the rooms had two settings, hot and cold. Dinnerware and trash were left for the morning crew to clean up on more than one occasion. I was limited on exercising I would refer to this place as a quick aging facility

Run as fast as you can from this place. Patient in their care lost 23 pounds in their care in 5 weeks. I inquired numerous times about her condition and after seeing an outside doctor she was immediately put into the ER. She has been moved to a different facility and is totally thriving. I was informed by staff at Generations that medical staff saw her daily and they weren’t concerned. She was below 100 pounds. How can you be so blind?

My mother n law has been at the facility for about a month or two, the patient care is absolutely horrible. When you express your feelings to the nurses about your loved ones care, they dismiss it. My mom n law pressed the nurses button and it took over an hour to get someone into her room to help her. The dr's and nurses do not communicate, they have no idea what is going on with my loved one, I give them more info then they give me. Absolutely do not send your loved one to this place.

This place picks and chooses who they will treat with respect and who they won’t. The staff are very rude and curse all the time. Yell at the patients and even curse at them. Patients walk around soiled and smell of urine and feces. My moms friend died here because they were not properly treated with antibiotics for the infection. I wish you the best and please find a funeral home if you are putting your loved one in this facility.

I’m so happy I transferred my dad to this facility. We had a great experience. His last place looked like a jail and felt really cold. Regency was so invitin and homelike. They worked really hard helping me getting him transferred because the last place wanted to keep him because of his good insurance. Whenever I visited him, he seemed to be really taken care of. Call lights could be answered better but the staff were helpful when they did come. I’m not going to complain much because no place will be perfect but Regency was most def better then his last place all around.

Majority of the CENA's do not put any effort in the patient care. Most times when I went to visit, they were all sitting around at the floor desk and patient lights were just left blinking. Terrible experience for us to see while our family member was there.

Great Place! I’ve been to other facilities and always end up at Regency! It’s like home! There’s a pleasant CNA that goes with me to appointments. This particular time, doctor’s office was very complex. We had to change rooms at least 4 times and she never complained. She did it with a smile and I appreciated that being in my current condition.

My dad stayed at Regency for about five or six weeks. His physician was wonderful, the physician care was good, and the therapist was very good. However, we were not comfortable there and with the rest of the staff. We were not happy with the care Dad got. It was a very large place and they did their best, but there were issues. There was poor communication, the social worker never showed up, and the wheelchair never arrived when it was time for him to go home; we didn't leave until 10:00 pm. He was in a shared room with a shared bathroom. It was not a good experience at all. The insurance paid for it, but it wasn't worth it.

My mother is a resident and i would not recommend this place to anyone. The staff is very rude and inexperienced in handling the elderly. My mother has been hurt and found with multiple bruises many time from mishandling. I would rate the cleanliness as very very poor. There is one elevator which Is extremely slow and would be very serious situation to all residents if there was an emergency and had to exit the building. We are desperately trying to find a new home for my mother at this time so she does not have to experience this place during her last years. Please do not subject your loved one this type of treatment.

Wouldn't you like to know ?

I visited this facility

Had a friend here for 2 give or take weeks and it was a scarry place. The place smelled of urine. My friend was getting congested daily and they did nothing, only to find out when they found my friend on the floor having a hard time breathing after they fell, they sent them to the hospital and found out they had a bacterial infection, and sepsis, and the flu, All 3 things. My friend was on a respirator. and the hospital told me that my friend fell BUT this place told me he did NOT fall, Well if they found my friend in the floor I would say they fell. Never got all my friends belongings back either.

We moved our Mom here after her dementia progressed to far for other nursing homes to be interested in caring for her. It's only been a month since the move and we couldn't be happier! Moving a dementia patient can be very traumatic for them, but the caring staff handled Mom's transition so well. Mom is on the 5th floor which is dedicated to memory care patients: very kind staff, residents and facility are very clean, nutrition and hydration are taken seriously as are every attempt to keep the residents active.

My mother-in-law stayed at Regency Healthcare Centre because of the location and recommendation by the hospital. The staff on the floor were very competent and compassionate. However, the administrative staff seemed like they did not know what they talked about. The environment was clean and pleasant. It was also very easy for us to visit anytime because of the location. They had two beds in a hospital room with a bathroom. Each bedroom had a television and closet space. They also had a special lifting equipment which helped the staff to move the residents in the bed if needed. The communication between the administration and the clients should be improved. I would recommend this facility but they should talk to the administrative staff about the client's needs and expectations.
