I visited this facility

Pine Ridge of Hayes was wonderful. I just walked in there and did not have an appointment, and they were very personable. It was very clean. The unit I saw was very spacious. It had a little screened-in porch so the resident could go out there and relax. It was a one bedroom and it had a little kitchen. So, it was very nice. I met a couple of people there and they were nice, too.

I appreciate that the staff seems to know every patient by name and that every time I walk in I see staff interacting with residents. I feel like they know and like my mom. My mom isn't very social and has some growing memory problems, but I feel like she is well-cared for. She enjoys the meals and mealtime. She's made friends that she dines with regularly. I think some of the facilities are a little dated, but my mom's studio is nice and it's always clean when I get there. I like that her laundry is done and that they will deliver meals to her room if she's sick. I have other friends who have parents living there and they have had similar experiences. It's affordable for my mom with her social security check and my dad's pension. I feel like I don't have to worry about it.

Pine Ridge of Hayes was a good facility. It was older, so sometimes the apartments were lacking. During COVID, there were times when you didn't get your apartment cleaned. It was good for people who were more independent. My mother was there for about three years or so and to begin with, it was good for her, but as she declined, it was absolutely not enough for her. It's independent living, but for assistance, we paid separate and that got to be a little bit too much. Everything was ala carte, so we had to pay for extras. The staff tried really hard. They had many activities. People go down to the dining room and would do bingo, games, and crafting.

I visited this facility

When I walked in Pine Ridge of Hayes, the staff was having lunch. It was pretty crowded in their kitchen, which leads me to believe that the food is good because there were a lot of people in their kitchen. The director was nice and he took us around, but that place was outdated. Everything I saw in there was really old and the spacing was small. They're all on one level, so you don't have to worry about taking elevators and stairs, but because they're all on one level, some of the apartments are way in the back, and it is such a long walk. I don't even know how those people can make that walk every day if you live in the back area, which is the place that he showed us and it was a studio. It was a bigger studio though, but it was so outdated. They made these little covered-in porches for them made of wood and it looked so janky. It was $2800 a month to stay in that studio way in the back of the building. They are overpriced and they are not worth it at all. The food was good. The staff showed us the activity board and a library that was in the hallway. It is independent living with three meals and activities and they offer transportation.

My mother has lived there for over three years now. She is very content and happy since she moved in. The people that work there behind the desks, in the kitchen, house keeping etc are great. My mom likes to joke with them all the time. Everyone there goes out of their way to make her smile. They wash her clothes, clean the apartment, and makes sure her needs are addressed. They take her out on the bus to go shopping, personal trips to the doctor, dentist. He activities director has.hem doing/ playing bingo, arts and crafts and games of all sorts. If we take my mom out, she says she wants to be back in time so that she doesn’t miss whatever is planned for the day. She couldn’t be happier.

Provider Response

Thank you for taking the time to let us know that what we do is appreciated. We love our residents and are so happy to see that your mom appreciates everything that our community provides. It is nice to hear that she is excited to get back to joining in the activities when she is away from Pine Ridge of Hayes. Sincere thanks, Ann Marie Broquet

First this place has one HUGE advantage over most other Assisted Living facilities. It is all one one floor and each apartment has TWO doors to escape if there was a fire. Also no elevators which are shut down in all multistory facilities if there is a fire or other emergency. Also a screened in porch is standard for everyone and pets are allowed. There is also fenced in dog park. Yes the staff is nice and food is great like most other places, but being all on one floor is the best bet for safety. Think about this !!!

Provider Response

Thank you for your thoughtful comments, Daisy! We do love our screened in porches. Our one level, ranch style, building structure with our one-of-a-kind screened-in patios are important features to our residents, their families, and their fur babies, especially because of the safety factors. We feel our community, and all its features, create that special “feels like home” touch that everyone desires and hopes to experience.

Overall, my family had a good experience with the staff and caregivers. However, my family decided to move my grandparents out when management made a decision to exclude my grandmother from the dining room. She had choked on her food, and was “distracting” other residents. Management did not offer any other alternative besides that my grandmother had to eat alone in her room because she “coughed” too much. This really took a toll on my family, and even bothered other individuals within the facility, but management was not willing to do anything but exclude her. We immediately moved my grandparents out when the manager confirmed her decision and failed to follow up. It was clear that my grandma needed more care and attention. I understand that this may have required more than Pineridge could handle, but I continue to disagree with the action taken. To me, this shows a lack of compassion for the elderly. I would not recommend this location to others who have family members that suffer from Parkinson’s. Besides that, the staff and caregivers were wonderful to my grandparents.

My sister and I are extremely pleased with Pine Ridge. The apartments are spacious, the hallways and common areas are always clean, smell fresh and there seems to always be a new project going to improve the look of the facility. Mary, Anne Marie, and Terri have been so helpful to make sure that our parents have what they need. DeeDee on the cleaning staff has been so kind and the young girls waiting on tables in the dining room seem to always know what our parents want before they ask. Thank you Pine Ridge - you are a blessing!!

I cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff is at Pine Ridge. If is so obvious they love the residents and have a commitment to making their lives better. Our mom loves it at Pine Ridge, she has been there for over 4 years and we couldn't be happier.

I didn't care for Pine Ridge of Hayes. It's an older community with lower ceilings that made you feel like you're closed in. My sister lived there, and it felt gloomy, and the atmosphere wasn't that happy. The people were wonderful and the staff was great. The food was OK; some of the other senior places had better food.

My 99 year old grandma is a current resident, for about 4 years now.She was heartbroken to leave her house that she lived in for 60 years,so everybody was very worried how she would acclimate. It didn't last long. She loves it!Delicious food in the central dining room, cute little screened in porch, kitchenette in her apartment, nice sized living room & a large bedroom..Most importantly,to us,is the caring staff. They routinely go over and above & we sure do appreciate that!It is perfect for her needs.

Pine Ridge of Hayes Senior Living has a very neat concept because all of the apartments have a screened-in back porch, which is awesome. The community felt more homey to me, but it looked, smelled, and felt old to me. The apartments were not updated. Their cupboards in the kitchen were probably never updated, but they’ve been painted so many times. They probably had the best food. My father liked the community the best because it was all on one floor. There was no upstairs, and it had a backyard and a courthouse. They had the least amount of accommodations. There wasn’t a movie theater which was appealing and kind of neat for them to be able to go to the movies inside.

Pine Ridge of Hayes Senior Living is a really cute community. The cutest thing about it is they actually have outdoor living space for the residents. It was the only property we looked at that was all on 1-floor. If you have somebody who is on a motor scooter or needs handicapped accessibility, you don’t have to worry about stairs or about elevators, which is great. Mom liked this place because it was all on one floor. They had screened porches for every resident, so off the back of your apartment you had a screened in porch, so you could still have a little outdoor time, and they have a little garden club. The residents were a little older than mom, but the activities director and the staff were very in-tune with the residents. There were only 83 or 85 residents, so it was the best ratio as far as residents to the location. She had put a down payment on them as far as to hold the apartment. They have one apartment coming available, so we were really interested in moving forward, and this was the first place we looked at that didn’t have a wait, so there was a lot of positive to it. But the apartments were just so outdated and I don’t know if they fix them up before they put the residents into them. This one hadn’t been fixed up yet, but there was apparent mold damage. It was really outdated, and there was also a gentleman smoking right in front of the building when we got there. He was a resident, and that really turned us off because mom, every time she was watching the front door, would complain about that cigarette smoke. Charlene was the woman we spoke to, and she was a blessing. I really commend her for all of her efforts; she was great. I also talked to her colleague, Mary, over the phone, and she was great as well. I cannot say enough good things about the folks that work there, and we’ve already told them that we would keep them in mind if there was another move in the near future. Each apartment has a dropdown like an attic storage area, and you don’t see that anywhere. So if you have somebody who is looking to move and has a lot of stuff, rather junking the trunk, this might be the place you might look for because you have enough attic space in there, and there is nothing extra added to your rent because it is in your apartment.

Pine Ridge of Hayes seemed to be old. The construction was very dated, and my wife did not like it at all. The staff person was very nice; she also showed us around, answered all of our questions, and was very friendly. We saw them playing Bingo, and we saw the rooms where people can play games or do puzzles.

Pine Ridge of Hayes was fine. I believe it was more expensive than some of the other ones I have been looking at. It was excellent, and everything was fine. It was clean, neat, smelled good, and looked good.

They were very helpful, and the apartment at Pine Ridge of Hayes was more appropriate for my dad. It had things that he liked, the people were accommodating, the apartment was available, and we liked it. So far, it has only been a month and a half, and we haven’t had any issues yet, but he seemed to be happy there. He seems to like the food, so that’s a good thing. I think it’s going to work out.

Pine Ridge was nice but old and terribly dated. It seemed they had all the amenities for people for less than half if what it costs where my mom is now, but it's a lot smaller. I think they're pretty good and nice, especially for the price.

Mom is at Pine Ridge of Hayes. I like us being able to choose the variety of services on an a la carte basis. The staff was very helpful. They have single bedroom apartments with small efficiency kitchens. Each room has a patio area as well. They have a central dining room which mom gets escorted to and from on a regular basis.

I already have my parents in an assisted living facility. I thought it was nice. People seemed nice, they invited us to breakfast, and the food seemed decent. It was nice, and it was in our price range. I picked it because of its location. We all lived close to it, and it was reasonable. Like I said it was clean, and the rooms were of a nice size. They live in their little apartment. I don't know if they have enough staff over there, but that is just my opinion. They haven't been there long enough yet, but I think they need more help. The people there are very friendly, and they are nice. The staff there is very nice because they go out of their way to do things. It's nice, but I just think they need a few more people there for the residents they have. My father for one is very needy. If everybody there is like him, then they don't have enough. That's how I look at it.

Pine Ridge Hayes was recommended to us by a friend and we found everything we were told to be true. The facility is well kept and inviting, with rooms that are well designed for comfortable living. The administration was very helpful during our mom's entire stay. The Parental Care staff was exceptional. The kitchen and cleaning staffs were always helpful and pleasant, which made my mom feel very much at home. She enjoyed the activities, particularly the music presentations. It was a wonderful experience for my mother and I would highly recommend Pine Ridge Hayes.

Pine Ridge of Hayes Senior Living was too big for my sister-in-law. What we didn’t like was that they just kept her in her room. They would just get her out of her bed and she would sit in front of the TV in her room all day. They would bring her food to her room and that's just about it. They lost her teeth while she was there and lost her toilet seat that we took in and so we moved her out there. The place is too overwhelming for her with that many people. It would have been a good facility for retired active people or for those seniors who can socialize, but in her case it’s not that suitable for her.

I didn't feel rushed, and the staff were easy to talk to. It has all the same features as the other facility we visited, just a different atmosphere from the other Pine Ridge facility.
