My brother will be moving into Sanctuary at the Oaks. The lead person has been very pleasant. She's willing to work with each family individually and also through financial issues that the family may have. She's been very accommodating in that area. The residents seemed to be very pleasant. There were also a lot of activities. The facilities seemed to be very clean, accommodating, and the rooms seemed to be pleasant. He will be in the healthy living environment and he will have some accommodations in there due to his disability. They have a theater and church services just down the road from him and there's a gym. It was appealing to him.

Sanctuary of the Oaks is a fairly new complex, and it is very expensive. It has little apartments and is three stories high. It is a clean place with pretty chairs and pretty flowers. They have all kinds of activities for the ladies. They have bingo, and they have a movie on the weekends in the theater room. They have a bus to take the people to different shopping locations. They have kids come in at Halloween time with their costumes, and they have a little Christmas party coming up in a couple of weeks.

We toured Sanctuary at the Oaks and it was nice. They had a lot of activities. They had a bus that could take people to groceries and to churches. They had a library and a nice dining room.

We chose Sanctuary at the Oaks for Mom because my father is in the independent living. He can just go down and visit. My father hates the food there. My mother is in a very small shared room with somebody else. Right now, because of COVID, they're not happy just staying in the room. They would let me sit with my mom and they would open a screen between us. She wasn't happy about being isolated and says she feels like she's in a prison, but everybody feels that way right now. The only activity they have going on is bingo once a week and everybody plays one to a table. The staff is adequate. A lot of the time it would be 10:00 in the morning and she still wouldn't be up and dressed yet or had her morning pills. We're actually not satisfied with her care in the memory section. We picked out this place because it covers all levels of care and also provides doctors' appointments. However, because of COVID, they don't have transportation to doctors. Instead, a doctor comes to see her.
