My husband is in Brookdale Midland. We had looked at it, and it appeared to be fine. They had a vacancy, so he went in the next day. He’s only been there for 10 to 12 days, and we are happy with it and he’s doing OK. He is a difficult patient no matter where he is, but they love him. The rooms are fine and supposedly completely redone between patients. It seems like a nice, private, decent-sized room with a bathroom. I haven’t seen the food, but he is eating. He told me the food is terrific, and he is the first one to complain about food. They have activities. The staff is very caring, and I can call and speak to the nurse whenever I like to find out how he’s doing.

The care is going alright. I think they are going through a lot of transition, which I prefer not to see, but there are a few core people, who have been there since the beginning, and they are fantastic, they are wonderful. They are young, and there is a lot of transition, so you start getting to know some of them, and then they disappear on you. I think Brookdale Midland is a neat, clean place, they try to offer different activities for the residents, and one of the transitions that they had was keeping an Activities Director, and I think they have got to sort that out yet. My dad is in the memory care. He is struggling and having a hard time transitioning, and he wants to go home.

I visited this facility
I went to Clare Bridge, but it was expensive. It was not very nice. The staff seemed very friendly. The administrator was very, very helpful, and I liked her a lot. They had a wonderful dining room. They even had tablecloths, and they have a kitchen. He said that it's open all the time and people can get food anytime they want.

I visited this facility
I did go and visit Clare Bridge. They let me walk through the facility and have a hands-on visit with them, talked to quite a few of the people who lived there. They showed me all of their amenities. If I had had the resources, that's where I would have put him. It's very much top of the line, but it's also a quite bit more expensive. They were better than anything that I had ever seen, but you pay a bit more for it.
They seem to have hands-on activities. They have things that people have to obviously use their brain and concentrate with physical activities. They have things for those who are more introverted who would like to do, like crosswords or puzzles or sit in the library and read books. I know that they basically treat everyone as if they're their own dad or mom.
