I was very impressed with Delta Retirement Center. It was spacious and clean, and we liked that it was close to shopping. The rooms were modern with lots of storage space. They were updated with fresh new carpeting and paint. It seemed like they had lots of activities. The dining area looked very accommodating. Sandy gave us a tour of the place. She was very accommodating. She showed us all the styles of apartments they had. She had a lot of good information for us.

Delta Retirement Center was very clean. I got there at lunchtime and there was a lot of laughter and conversations coming in from the dining room. I met with Sandy and she was busy moving furniture because they were going to have a movie later that afternoon. I watched the way she rearranged the furniture in the lobby so they could get together and watch a movie where the fireplace was roaring. It was kind of a nice, homey atmosphere. I saw two one-bedroom apartments. One was more accessible for somebody with a wheelchair than the other one. One was a full kitchen while the other one was with a partial kitchen. They had been upgraded so the kitchens had more drawer space. They have a library and a book club once a month, which I think my friend would find very enjoyable. They also have bingo and card games like euchre and cribbage (she loves to play cards too). They have a little cafe that they have set up so the residents can go get coffee any time they want to during the day. There are tables in there so they can sit and chit-chat or socialize. Sandy was very, very informative and answered questions that I didn't even know I had. Since they've just remodeled and repainted, one of my concerns was that of the residents that have cognitive issues, some of them were having difficulty finding their way back to their homes because everything was the same color. They used to have different artwork on different hallways so people knew where their homes were and now everything was all the same color. They put new artwork up and people aren't used to that yet. I talked to Sandy about it and made some suggestions already.

I was able to go and tour Delta Retirement Center, but it was too pricey for me. It was very nice, they showed me the amenities and they showed me some apartments. The staff there were very nice and their rooms were all very nice as well. I have nothing bad to say about it at all, everything I saw was very nice. They had a nice exercise room, card room, and community room. Overall, the place was clean and neat and it looked like it's been cleaned consistently. Someone comes in once a week to clean the rooms. They also had a little club, so that was nice.

We have my father-in-law at the Delta Retirement Center in Lansing. It's a real nice place, and they have more interaction than where my mom is. It's for people that need a little bit more care. I think my mom would do well there. They go down and have meals, but they all have small kitchens. My dad has a two-burner cooktop, a little sink, and a fridge, but no oven. He could fry an egg if he wanted to, but he doesn't. He just goes down, but if somebody doesn't come down for their meal (they have two meals a day), the staff comes and checks on them. There are cords. If somebody falls and needs help, they can pull the cord. There's a little more assistance available in that setting. You can order ala carte services for them. You pay for each service. It adds to the price of their room, but their base price includes the two meals a day and all their activities. They have activities every day and they have laundry facilities. He has a one-bedroom. The staff is fabulous. It's a great place. However, with the virus, they've been giving them their meal in their room in a container and it has been terrible. Before this whole Covid baloney, their food was good. He does not like the meals that are delivered. He thinks they're cold and they're tasteless, and he thinks the quality of food is less than what it was when they were eating in the dining room. Right now, they're back in their rooms again, but you can still go visit them. We've had the holiday meals and those were fabulous. They go over and above, and the entertainment has been marvelous. The facility is excellent, and they keep it very well kept up. They've been remodeling apartments and carpeting in the hallways. My father-in-law has been there three years. They give them a lot. I don't have any complaints about them.

The layout at Delta Retirement Center was really great. When we walked in there for the tour, there were residents that were in the lobby; they seemed happy. We couldn't get right in for the tour, so we went around and talked to some of the residents. One of them had been there for seven years. She was just so happy to be there, so that makes me feel comfortable putting my mom there. I think she'll have lots of friends to talk with and socialize with, so that was a big part. The apartment that mom's going to have is really nice. There's a lot of space in it for her, and there's a walk-in closet. Comparing that with Birkdale, it's like Brogdale. There are places for people to stay. It reminds me of a hotel room. You just walk in there and there's only room for a bed. It just didn't have it when I walked in there; it didn't have any warmth to it at all. It just seemed like a very cold, barren place. I saw a printout of their monthly menu, and it looked good. They have chefs in there. They do an inspection, and they have choices. They offer a lot for the people. They have movies. They have somebody that comes in once a week on Fridays. They have socials and people that come in, sing, and entertain. It seems like there's an awful lot that they do.

Delta Retirement Center was clean and had a friendly staff. It's a little busier location traffic-wise, but it's nice. We didn't really interact with the staff other than the office people. It's got a modern design. There are a lot of shopping nearby and it's not far from a local hospital.

Food does not meet the dietary needs of the residents. Most is high salt, sugar and carbs. Not good for those with heart problems, diabetes and other health issues. Staff is helpful and responsive, but upper level management is distant with little interaction with the residents. Activities, particularly crafts, are not age appropriate. Very elementary and not stimulating. The facility is older, but still in good shape. It is nice that everything is on one floor. They have not lived up to their statements during tours. Absolutely no diversity with exception of staff.

Delta Retirement Center was nice. It was a little bigger than I would like but it was clean and nice. There was one lady staff who took around was nice and informative. The main issue was that it wasn't diverse at all. They have a library and a small chapel area where they can go. They also offer meals. A lot of stuff was ala carte. They have movies, and there is a game room, too. Everything there was nice.

Actually when I toured Delta Retirement Center which Jenny helped set up I met with Sandy. Sandy was an exceptional tour guide, she showed my son and I two different living places and every thing that would be available for me iuf I decide to move there. Delta is a clean place to live, has many activities to enjoy and the price is very compatible to others. I like the location and the area is exactly where I want to live.

I have a friend who lives at Delta Retirement Center. They have graduated help where they charge you if you need more help with certain things, but you stay right in your same place; you don't have to move. The community was very nice. My friends are very happy there. The dining area was nice. They provide meals, they clean your room, and you can add personal care if you need it.

Provider Response

Thank you so much for your kind words Patricia. We are so pleased to hear your friend is happy at our Community. We strive to make everyone's stay in our community a pleasant one!

My friend's experience at the Delta Retirement Center has been very positive. The staff took a ton of time with us to explain what they provided and what they're trying to accomplish with the residents there. My friend was kind of reluctant and even resistant to going to a retirement home, but when he got the chance to tour this facility and talk to the staff, he was actually pretty excited about moving in by the time we had left. It's a bit older facility, but it's clean and well cared for. They have tons of activities for the residents, an eating room, a smaller area to gather or talk, movies pretty much every night, and excursions to shopping centers as needed. They have an activity sheet that they publish to let them know what's going on. In his previous apartment, his big occupation was watching TV, but now that he's at the Delta, he had commented "I don't have time for TV, there's too much to do!" They clean his room, help with laundry, and provide meals. My friend also says the food is quite good.

I'm living at Delta Retirement Center. The staff is wonderful, and the people who live here are very nice. I'm very pleased. They just got a new chef and the food is getting better and better. I have a wonderful apartment. They have a lot of activities. It's a wonderful value for what you're paying.

This is not a licensed facility so if you have issues there is no one you can report them to. My loved one did not receive quality care which is why she no longer lives at Delta. The staff is helpful as long as you can do everything for yourself. They offer services above the base but will nickle and dime you to death. Watch the invoices very carefully because they add things on and hope you won't notice. Happened to me almost every month. My loved one needed meals delivered but even though I asked repeatedly for them to set out silverware it didn't happen. Eating without silverware is unacceptable whe one is paying extra to have meals brought to the room. I could go on and on. Needless to say, be wary of this facility. My family had a horrible experience. If I could give negative stars I would.

Delta Retirement Center was like a home. They went down to eat dinner together and had a big living room. The staff was wonderful. I didn't have any complaints about that. The room has a little bedroom, bathroom, and a little kitchenette and for Mom. My mom enjoyed the food. She was happy with that and didn't have any complaints. They had church, exercise, shopping, and trips out to dinner. The one thing I specifically remember was they had a daycare center come and sing little carols. My mom was in heaven. She enjoyed it.

We're impressed with Delta Retirement Center. The room was furnished with just a bed and a dresser. It had a closet that you could lock, which was something that my relative would have preferred. Size-wise, they're comfortable. The staff was very friendly, very helpful, and very knowledgeable.

Delta Retirement Center is independent living, but you're too cooped up in there. One lady showed me around, and the rooms were too small for the price. They didn't have any outdoor balcony or anything like that, that you could get outside. I just didn't like it.

Delta Retirement Center is beautiful, but was just not friendly if you have walkers. The rooms are very nice. With their activities, she was able to mention that they have card games, bus trips, and a few other things. Overall, I had a very good impression on the place.

My mom was at Delta Retirement Center. They had wonderful staff. The food was great. The environment was great as well. They had wonderful activities. Her room was very nice. It was very homey and spacious. They had arts and crafts, music, exercise, poetry reading, bingo, and day trips. The staff was very friendly, caring, and helpful.

We went to the Delta Retirement Center. What's good about them is that they're the cheapest. There's 100 residents all on one floor, so we didn't want my mom where she would have to walk miles and miles to find the dining room. It's all spread out, and that's not a good thing.

Delta Retirement was great, a little bit on the pricey side, but most of them are. The rooms are beautiful and wonderful. They had Bingo, exercise time, and other different things. I would recommend this to others if they can afford it.
